[Q] Desire wont use play store after re-installing Cyanogen 7 - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just wiped and re-installed Cyanogen 7 onto my desire because i felt like a new start, now the Play store no longer works and I cant get apps. Any help will be much appreciated.

Why can't you get gapps?

Someone in the same boat as me. I just flashed the same ROM and am a tad fustrated. You cant use playstore and ive even got apps on my phone that I cant use. My biggest trouble is I was running 4ext recovery, which was ace. I flashed Clockwork recovery not really thinking bout what i was doing and now the clockwork recovery dont work, so i cant backup\restore data. So im a bit stuck at the min, any advice people. Thank you kiiindly

[Q] Why can't I get the market to work?

I'm having a problem and hopefully it's something simple I overlooked. I installed Cyanogen's V6.0.0. RC1 and the market won't find anything I search for. I tried a different ROM and the same problem. Now I have no ROM Manager and I can't get into recovery. Recovery goes away every time I wipe to install a new ROM. Is there something I can do to fix it?
If u just noticed it then its not ur Rom, market has been down on different devices to night since about 12

After I install a new ROM and try to boot into recovery mode when the phone is turned off it doesn't load Clockwork Recovery it loads the stock recovery and I don't have any options until I use ROM Manager and install the recovery image from there.
Hope that's enough info.

You need to go in to the menu of the stock recovery (up volume + power), and select apply update.zip to go in to clockwork.

on gingerbread and cant go back

so im stuck on gingerbread, and can only use my backup with is a gingerbread one, when i reload cwm 2.5.x through fastboot its doesnt work just loas the rom and never boots past the htc screen. being stuck on gingerbread aint the worst but i always like to move around. any ideas?
try flashing the recovery from rom manager, this will install the 2.5 recovery. fastboot flash will only work if you have the eng h-boot, radio s-off won't do.
yeah got the eng h-boot
and im geting into 2.5, and it says it loads but no dice.
doing the install through rom manager just force closes on gingerbread for me.

You can't flash back to CM6 via the ROM Manager. You need to flash CWR v2 via the ROM manager, boot into recovery and manually flash your CM6 backup. And be sure to do a full wipe of everything before flashing

You should still go the gfree route, they found the initial hack could be overrided; check the Wiki here for a guide to use gfree for those of us that rooted from the get go.

Okay, I think I got it. You flashed Gingervillan without backing up your stock ROM?

If you want to flash a non-GB ROM, you need the CWM2 (which is what you did). It sounds like after you put this recovery back though, you tried to flash a GB backup? This won't work (since anything GB requires CWM3).
If you have the CWM2 recovery, just go download any Froyo-based ROM you want to use, place the zip on you SD card, boot into recovery, and apply the zip.
nah just tried to flash a 2.2 rom through cwm2.5 no backup will only flash gb backup through 3.0.0.5

[Q] Hlep can't install rom on htc evo

Hello, just checking to see if anyone can help, everytime I try to install a new rom it says that it installes but then when I reboot it boot loops after the htc evo 4g screen. I have used clockwork recovery and also used ra-supersonic-v2.3. The only thing I can install is my nandroid that I have from a previous rom. The new update wont boot either. If any one can help please let me know.
Try wiping everything and then flash the rom. And dont flash two zips at yhe same time.

I have also used a format all.zip, nothing. everytime i wipe everything multipule times it does the same. Only the nandroid works no other roms will. Please help

well clockwork is your problem. lol. install amon ra v2.3 recovery. once on there wipe everything in the wipe menu except the rotate settings and the sd-card. flash your rom of choice and you should be set.

[Q] Stuck after installing cyanogenmod

Hello guys (and girls)
I have a really big issue here.... I used alpharevX to s-OFF my Wildfire, after succeeding I rooted my phone, also worked. Downloaded clockworkmod and then I'd try to install cyanogenmod 7.0.0. but the picture with the android on the skateboard was in a loop for a few hours.. (lol). I'd tryed some things in recovery mode, but now everytime I reboot, I'm stuck in the hboot! Have I bricked my phone now?
I have vodafone
If you could help me, I would appreciate it big time!
Nope. Not bricked.
Guess u didn't make a factory reset / data wipe before installing cm7.
And lol. How did u wait for hours. I would have just pulled out the battery.
Make factory reset and data wipe and reinstall cm7. Hope it solves
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
Tried factory reset, but when I reboot, still in hboot
Try flashing a different rom?
And why the heck did you get CM7 7.0.0, we're on 7.0.3 in stable builds
Even didn't get u clearly. Maybe are u talking about android picture in recovery mode.
If so, u should use trackpad to select options in recovery. Pressing power button will give u back options and sometimes that picture. Re-pressing the power button gets rid of that picture.

Cyanogenmod 7.0.0. had the most downloads so i tought it was the most secure one.., first time rooting here!
@bharat: I am aware of that! Did everything with the trackpad.

He's right.
You should download 7.0.3
In other things, you should wipe everything and have a factory reset of data.
Then go to partitions menu and manually format /system /boot....
and then try installing the CM7 zip.
See if that helps.
Am installing the newest cm7 now!
I'm curious

I'm Stuck on HTC Logo after installing CyanogenMod 7.2 :/
After installing Wildchild it works fine :/
Why can't i use cyanogenMod :/
Need Helppp!!!!
I think you have a wildfire S phone. Wildfire and wildfire S are totally different phones. Wildfire roms will not work on Wildfire S.
You can use roms on wildfire S forum..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1035

Will only run Hensemod ??

I have a wildfire s and run the m1hnd4x8r rom and have NO issues and 500mb memory
Trying to get wife's same, but having probs.
Only difference is hers is a 2012 model, but its unlocked, S off, and perm rooted.
It wont load the same rom as mine, stops on HTC screen and wont boot further despite how long left.
It wont run WC2.0, or any other rom I seem to try, but will restore (CWM) easily to hensemod 7 and has no issues with that rom.
Ive spent hours on it reflashing stuff...
Anyone tell me why it wont run these other roms please??

I'm hearing you here, but what prerequisite different?
I've done factory reset, wipe cache, dalvik cache,
I was just installing from market, is there a better d/l link perhaps for cwm?
It is getting stuck in a boot loop and keeps going to htc screen
Any pointers??
I can still get into recovery and load the hensemod fine, but any other roms jam on htc screen?
driving me nuts.
I reinstalled cwm recovery, same
