[Q] AK Dummy Kernel Settings for Paranoid Android 3.0 - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

does anyone know how to access the governor settings in Paranoid Android 3.0? I'm using the AK Dummy Kernel right now but I don't know where to access the settings. I'm sure it's simple but I've had the hardest time finding it.

You need an app i.e. Trickster Mod, setcpu, etc.

CPU settings

Coming from the peter alfonso world of the Droid 1, there is something I loved and was wondering if it was possible for our incredibles.
He had a flashable zip called CPU toolkit, I think, that would add cpu settings to the devices menu. This let you NOT have to install setcpu and still be able to adjust CPU setting.
Possible perhaps?

I've never seen it. Closest I've seen is BAMF on the Tbolt. But I don't use any of that. The best way to manage kernel settings is via a script in /system/etc/init.d, assuming your kernel support that. If it doesn't, apps probably won't work real well either. If you have questions, hit me up and I'll explain more.
some cpu settings are already in the cm7 rom.

True but I was just thinking of a flashable zip for generic roms.

Franco Kernel r345 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1367341
With these settings! They work awesome!

You can modify these settings using the Trickster Mod App.

Increasing the voltage levels beyond their stock values. Voltage that the CPU receives.

Going from 4.1.2 to 4.2 Does Ktweaker work Underwear? Do AOKP backup work

I want to know whether I can restore my ktweaker settings on 4.2 and how seamlessly (what things will I have to change) when I restore my AOKP's backup settings on 4.2?
Re ktweaker, since you'd be running (essentially) the same kernel, the settings should carry over as you'd expect.
Other system settings probably aren't going to carry over very well between 4.1 and 4.2; I can't really speak for anything AOKP-specific.

My bad so I am running Ktoonsez's kernel but want to put underwear kernel instead. Would the ktweaker settings transfer over?

I'm pretty sure the ktweaker settings will only work with the KT kernel.

Ktweaker settings apply only to KT747. The underwear kernel doesn't share all of the same governors and i/O schedulers. Additionally, the underwear kernel does not have a native ability to UV or OC.
Right now on Task's AOKP thread, he mentioned that you will have to only use the included kernel(underwear) of the 4.2.1 rom, nothing else or the phone will have some major flickering and video issues.

[Q] Kernel control

Hi there.
I'm using the PARANOIDANDROID 3.0 (Feb09) rom with the latest franco kernel. FTR, I do wanna try other kernels also, but I have troubles with three things:
1) I cannot find with which kernels is the PA3 rom compatible with
2) I have no idea with "what" to control the kernel - with that I mean: CPU clock speed, GPU speed, etc. etc.
3) is here something like "touchwake" (that option I had on my Nexus S in the Matr1x kernel) for the Galaxy Nexus? I heard of something called PGM but would like if it is more like kernel-included than a separate app
Thanks

[Q] SlimBean 4.2.2 build 5 Question

Hello All,
I can't seem to find the location on this ROM that allows you to change the governor settings... I swear I've looked everywhere!
i dont use that ROM but just FYI, kernel control features may not be built into it. as a matter of fact, a lot of ROMs dont have any built in kernel setting controls. where you using it before and it had it? saw a user running slimbean this morning with ktoonsez kernel. full control
Probably...

It's the kernel that came with the ROM, 3.4.41-slim-g846750a. I just read of people talking about changing their governors and wanted to give it a try..
i use (and only use) ktoonsez kt747 kernel with any ROM i am on (tasks latest currently). it comes packaged with an app that allows me to select and make governor and scheduler adjustments as well as tweak many other things in order to improve stability and battery life. highly recommend.
You can enable the developers settings by going into settings>about phone>and tap on build number 6 or 7 times and that will unlock the performance options

Thanks for all the help guys. I activated the developer options, but there are still no governor settings. I think I'll try flashing the KT rom suggested above.

Did u try tapping performance >OK and then the option to change I/o scheduler or the option to change CPU governor and clock speed? It will be there
