Yesterday my HTC Excalibur stopped receiving calls, text messages and would not make calls.
I turned the phone off, took the battery and SIM Card out, put it in 5 minutes later hoping it would work again, it did not.
I did a reset of the phone (accessories, clear storage, 1234), that did not work.
This morning I tried swapping SIM cards with someone else (to see if was the service provider). Both SIM Cards worked in my friends Sony Ericsson but neither worked in my HTC Excalibur.
I have the 3V0 Windows Mobile 6.5 installed.
Is there a way I can fix this?

have u tried reflashing(reinstalling 3V0 with the most uptodate version) ?

No, I don't know how.
The phone came with it installed. I bought it new, but the seller installed WM 6.5 before shipping, so it's more like open box.
How long does it take? Should I leave that as a last resort?
Is there anything I can tweak on my phone right now?

Where can I find the most up to date and fastest Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM?
EDIT: OP shared more info related via PM, thread re-open.
As I sent you via PM, hard reset or reflash your device. If that doesn't work get a new sim from your carrier since it can be network related.

reflashed to 6.1 but still no luck.
Again I tried another working sim from the same carrier, both sims work in my friends phone, but neither work on my s620.
I'v been in contact with jockyw2001 for his Excalibur Sim Unlock.
I just don't understand why I have to pay someone for this, I just bought the phone less than a month ago and it's been working perfectly.
How did this happen? How did my phone get locked?

Probably is your internal antenna (hardware). Have you made sure that phone radio is on?

Yes, the phone radio is on.
Now sometimes it says Rogers Wireless rather than searching.
But when I call someone, it does everything but complete the call. It just beeps twice and says 00:00.

That's the last resort my friend....when a doctor doesn't know what the patient has...he opens to see what's the problem .
This is something that you do it at your own risk, maybe you have some dirt inside that needs to be clean.

So yesterday i bought a second hand phone. GT-S5660.
In place of sale I put my Sim card in and everything worked fine, i tested it with a few calls and all in all it was good.
15 Minutes later I arrived at my home, not even managing to make a hard reset yet i notice i have "No Service"
I tried walking abit to check if its just a specific location but it was not.
I have tried putting in different sim cards and the result vary with each one.
One has shown the same effect as mine.
Second has worked for an hour, but after I tried to put it in again it also stopeed
Third seems to be working fine
Still mine doesnt.
I have tried reflashing stock rom in different version as well as googling for solutions for this problem, yet nothing seems to work.
Selecting the network automatically\manually doesnt, abcourse, work.
at some point between flashing the problem changed abit, from "No service" to "Emergency calls only" with full reception.
I am losing hope here, and having that the previous owner showed me the phone in action there is little i can do there.
sending it to a service center while efficient will probably cost alot, and if you didn't guess by me buying a simple phone from second hand, money IS a problem.
I havent tried flashing any costum roms so nothing could have gone wrong there.
would ove to know if you have any advice

EDIT: forgot to mention that when I enter stock recovery i get and error related with "Appling multi-CSC" and sometihng about can't mount.
I've tried selecting CSC by hand with *#272*IMEI# and it give me an error "Must be three chars"
btw IMEI is correct and accurate according to battery.

As i said i bought it second hand. and it did work at sale point.

I have flashed several phones ATT, Sprint, and Verizon. I have two though I am looking at that have a an icon between the wifi and the battery circle. I am flashing CM 10.2 for FYI. The icon looks like a memory card with a "?" in the middle of it. What is it? Then following what is done to fix it? I have tried searching but without knowing the right words to search for I'm stumbling through. Please help me.

Sounds like its not seeing or having issues with your SIM card. Just a guess though but that's usually where the cell signal bars are and if its showing a card with a question mark in its place that's my assumption. Perhaps its not unlocked for the network you are trying to use or just not installed correctly.
It is not a sim card issue. I attached a picture of what I am getting.
Phone arrived yesterday for my partner and after a lot of fun and laughs with the the update bootlloop ,it just gets better.
After fastbooting latest Elephone rom from Needrom,everything works well except I can't phone.Put in my Virgin T-Mobile sim ,not detected,so cut down a nearly year old Asda freebie mini sim from EE,still not seen.Both working well in My Doogee Dagger 550.Have heard some having problems with Virgin, but this phone should be ok .
Thinking of trying another rom ,tried Eragons did not put a sim card in, but thought partner would prefer more vanilla rom.
Any help please as partner going through a very trying time at mo,mum not well.

Wow problem solved ,reflashed rom again ,still not there read about disabling all added apps and on power on jab volume down button and sim know seen .

Hi morrig. Please can you be more specific in your steps here? How do you disable all apps and in particular, at which point do you 'jab power down'? All I get is the Chinese recovery bit :/
I have successfully managed to revive my phone using the '909' ROM but like you and many others, my SIM isn't being detected in either slot.
It's a frigging shame really. The P8000 is a great phone in my opinion let down by shoddy developers and lousy customer service. I hope Elephone get it sorted soon.

Have'nt a clue why it worked initialy,lost sims again.
Only work round was to flash Elephone rom 7/25 which has the right kernel to support sim,then flashed recovery and intalled Eragon rom.
Then found yesterday morning that after on charge all night battery nearly flat,partner(whose phone it is) was spitting blood.
Problem fixed by wiping cache,then charged well.
Cracking hardware and value,rubbish software, thankfully being solved by great developers.

I'll give 7/25 a crack and see how I get on. I'm not doing so well at the moment but still hopeful.

That;s weird.. I have a similar issue.
Been trying out a bunch of ROMs - well, Nexus and Eragon and Stock.
Nexus won't detect my SIMs at all and the other 2 detect them but can't make a call (can send a text oddly enough... not receive though).
Something to do with IMEI not being picked up.
I flashed 7/25 using SP Tools but no joy.
I did use:

.. that to manually put the IMEI in but it's a bit odd.
Just gonna try Eragon 6.1/Philz and that weird IMEI 'fix' and see if it works.

Great danes,you buy a smartphone to use mainly as a phone and without it working its nearly useless.
Did you use Win 7 to flash ,very easy to install MTK drivers ,tried everything on Win 10,did the restart with digital signing,noticed that on Win 7 had two digital signing yes or no yet only one in Win 10.Think thats why couldn't get Win 10 to install drivers properly ,yet others have,maybe because I'm on build 10586?

I used the rom on Needrom,no problems and never bother using nvram backup on install of new rom on my DG550 or the Elephone.

Just to add don't try Eragon 6.1 its beta and some have sim problems ,use 5.9.2,that's the one that works.
Yeah, I've installed 5.9.2 now.
Basically, I put in the IMEI manually, used *#*#4636#*#* to enable the radio and the 4G works now. I can make and receive calls.
However, I can't RECEIVE texts (standard SMS). I can send them but not receive.
Why do you think that would be?

I have the US version. Is that the same as the global version? I setup Google Pay and I tried to pay at Jersey Mike's (3 attempts) and each time the terminal gave an error "Please select only one payment card." My previous Pixel 4 XL worked perfectly at the same terminal. I'll have to test at another retail store to see if it works.

Thank you! I thought my nfc is broken and I have to RMA right away. I got the same thing now. Managed to scan nfc cards with an nfc scanner. I tried it at ALDI (german supermarket) literally nothing happened. But at another store it said the same as yours but more like "Only one card at once please". Like it detects mor than one nfc tag. Well I'm just glad its not hardware problems.
Still experiencing problems with higher distance. I was able to have my Galaxy S9+ about 10 cm away from the terminal and it worked. The Cards have to be hold right against the phone for about 10 seconds to get detected.
I'm going to try at another terminal and then I'll let you guys know here whether or not it works. My guess is we'll have to contact support and report it. Who knows if it'll ever get fixed though.

Guys I reported the issue to RedMagic support and sent feedback to Google Pay. I linked this thread for details. Not sure if it'll ever get fixed but it seems NFC works on this device, but sadly Google Pay is completely messed up.
I got the exact same error with NFC in North America. It says use only 1 card not 2. Payment is rejected. Same error all else have on North America / Global firmware. China ROM has no NFC settings available even though it has the same hardware...
Hello! I just found out out that NFC is not available in chinese models. Can anyone tell me if I can solve this by flashing an EU rom? Or there is no hardware for NFC at all? Thanks!
Hi no NFC antena in cn device, sorry.
It worked the first time with Global Rom 4.09 but the second time on another terminal it had the same issue as before. (only one card please)
