Heya,
Putting it quickly I've tried every radio out there for our phone from this thread. On every one the person on the other end of a phone call gets echos, and me going in and out like someone has the volume changing every few seconds.
I'm currently rooted, and using CM 10.0 Stable.
Any other radios out there I can try? Tips, advice?
Many thanks.
Try cm 10.1

Haven't done that. I could tho.
Both AOKP 4.2 and cm10.1 have fixed call echo and "underwater sound"...well at least for me and a bunch of other people running those ROMs.

OK you can call this number (914) 338-8802 third option is an echo test and fourth option let's you record and hear the playback so you know how you sound..might have to enable noise suppression
P.S I'm on AOKP 4.2

I cant post in the CM10 thread in android dev soz...
I flashed the CM10 M1 version from 9/11 and the call volume is freaking loud. Like its speakerphone loud and i have speakerphone off. I turned all the volume dials to low mid call but its still the same.
Is there a fix for this?
Known issue... Try playing some music and toggling the volume all the way down, then back up again. It reset the volume for mine. Keep in mind you will have to do this at least once every time you flash CM.

But in the AOKP thread i saw:

Its fixed?
Well guys, I know there isn't a lot of stable JB roms out there.
But based on YOUR opinion and experience which ones are the best? It could be AOSP.
Actually most of them I've tried have been pretty stable. I'm on paradroid right now and everything is smooth.

Sprints official jb port is by far the best one.

Read those threads and see what people post the most of. Being spoon fed is shunned here. It only takes about 5 minutes to skim through the last 5 pages and get an idea of the ROM.

I've tried. Trust me lol. I just can't get convinced since some users have bad experience on it. I'm very familiar with android, so I was planning on asking someone whos running it.
Btw, I couldn't install PA.
Why couldn't you install PA?

4+ hours of screen time with lean kernel
I personally have been using Deviant Dev FrostyJB_4.1.1-v6. It is really fast but not has fast as Wicked ICS v7 Rom. But I just love the Frosty Jelly bean the only problem I am having now is that whenever I restart my phone it switches the default keyboard back to stock and not swiftkey 3.
i've been jumping around from CM10 nightlies, PA 2.23/2.51/2.52, and Liquid Smooth RC7... trying to find a good battery.
out of the 3, i like CM10 the most, so i'll probably go back to CM10 nightlies, if not CM10 M2.
My fav have been so far Frostys and Paranoid Android, Im currently using the Sprint Jellybean release which seems to be to basic compared to those mentioned.
Latest cm10 nightly for me

And, what' the pic function? Is that a replacement for lockscreen targets? I might have to finally make the switch permanently.

There was a bug on previous build on Bluetooth but on yesterday's build he fixed it .
Its a pie not pic ; from which you can do certain thing by sliding ur finger up from bottom. Check rom thread for it. Lockscreen target are already customizable in it.

I did, and I acknowledge that the problem was fixed in 4.4, But using the camera script and tasker was a headache for me. The camera worked half the time. I love 4.4 but I'll be on 4.3.1 till the camera gets fixed :/

Yes.. Unfortunately there is NO post other than this one.. If you go to the CM website depository and go to d2tmo you WILL see it.. I was on the 12/09 nightly and last night "dirty flashed" to the 12/12 and everything is great for ME!.. I used internet, SMS, calling on a daily basis.. Yes this is GENERAL usage but that's MY experience.. And its been FLAWLESS.. Let's keep this thread alive since a LOT of ppl and devs have moved onto another device.. I say that because I gave my wife my old S2 and there seems to be MORE support from devs there than here.. She's on a good 4.3 ROM and has a option for 4.4 (I haven't flashed cuz 4.3 works so well for a older device).. I love my s3 and when my wife gets the new Note3 I'm keeping the s2 cuz its a underrated device just like the HTC Leo was/is..

Don't take me for an expert, but the CM website says to refer to d2tmo, so I believe it will work.
Battery life looks alright over here as well.
We do, however, need to get WiFi calling on this so that those who rely on it (not me, but others) can update to this.
