Alright, with some research, I wasn't able to find anything related to the GS3, I have this "Media" that is the top thing using the battery, and was wondering what it was:

At first sight, I would say that you have an app that is loading app nonstop. Since this media is for download.

Are you using a external sd card? If so, it might need formating.
Also, betterbatterystats can help you narrow down what is running none stop like this.

Yep, it's also allowed, I'll just post a screenshot of everything! I charged my phone back up to 100%, and will post the results in 15mins or so, by then it's been about 1hr off charge, on stand-by, only turned on the phone to delete an email.

As promissed, here are the screenshots, battery dropped 1% in 1hr, not bad, last night it was almost 25% in 7hrs...

I would ask for one more screeny, hit the media scanning (hit the text, not the icon) one in wakelocks and post a screeny of the popup (if there's one). That will give the process that is running and most likely will tell me (us) enough to know which app it's coming from.
That being said, did you try formating your external sd? Also, did you try booting without it to see if media still goes nuts?

I'm formatting the SD card as I type... As for the other screenshot, is this the one in Partial Wakelocks?
Thanks for the help, but I saw a huge battery drain overnight, I am connected to my wifi at home as well as bluetooth with my home phone... This is where I saw a drain of almost 25% over 6-7hrs

Alright, here's some screenshots after about 12hrs of little to no use, roughly 7-8hrs in there that it was overnight (and during this time it was connected to WiFi and Bluetooth).
The remaining time was my commute to work and a couple emails here and there. Roughly 14% battery loss in about 12hrs, is that bad?

What's the bandwidth usage?
What's the GSM time?

Simple guide to do mate. Go to my sig. Click on BetterBatteryStats thread. Download the app from that thread if you do not have it already. Fully charge your phone. Then as you go ahead and use it like normal when you come to near the end of the battery then post screenshots of your wakelocks and let us see what causes the battery to drain. that app will tell you what keeps your phone awake and what causes the drainage. that is all i can advice you with

All the roms except cm have this issue. All ya check your "Battery" in settings and see if "Media Server" process is eating up your battery. It should not be running period, but on my phone it uses 10-27 percent of my battery.
If your phone gets hot, most likely you have this problem. It usually starts after taking some videos or pictures.
Devs been ignoring this annoying problem,so i will throw in $20 to whoever fixes it.Hoping for other people to donate too. This is a serious problem on a lot of ics phones. But my Epic Touch 4g doesnt have that problem and Media Server process never runs on it like it does on my gs3-Thats how it supposed to be.
What rom are you on? To me it sounds like a corrupt media scanner. Apk.

Even now after i put .nomedia in every folder Media Server is still 4%.On my Epic Touch ics Media Server process never runs.

It might be media provider.apk. possibly secmediascanner.apk or secmediaprovider.apk. I'd try wiping the device completely, redownloading, then reflashing. (You can restore data after since the media scanner/provider is a /system app.)
Edit: on the epic touch, the cause of this was a theme that had included a wrongly compiled media scanner.apk.

I'm on Freegs3 and don't have this showing up in battery at all. Do you have your media syncing to anything? Like an auto-upload to something, dropbox/box/G+/etc?

I noticed that taking picture and videos on phones camera triggered this behavior.

No one ever wants to hear this, but, if you are having this issue across several ROMs then it's time to consider that perhaps it's an issue with your phone and not the ROMs.
I read you removed 40 apps or so from Blazer. Maybe you removed an app that's needed?

He means that the Optimus LTE has below average battery life, but even so, what you are describing is abnormal. Did you do a factory reset after you updated to ICS? (To perform a factory reset, turn the phone completely off, then hold the volume down and power buttons until you see a prompt asking if you want to perform a factory reset. Then release and follow the instructions. This clears all your installed apps and settings on the device.)

yes, his line is confusing. guess he is suffering too from battery performance on his p930
already tried that, i even calibrated the battery using a batt calibration application, and cycled the recharging but still no improvement. maybe this problem is due to the engineer's ICS ROM not tweaked to give better battery life?

check battery use under system settings. you'll see a list of all the processes that use up the battery. click on each one to see more info. if you see any in the list that keeps the system awake a lot, then you may have found the bug. i find that if the system gets awaken by these processes/apps, the battery tend to get drained really fast.

To save power, there are many way:
1. Shutdown apps run on background by system tuner pro.
2. Setting display to 20 - 30%.
3. Remove unneccesary apps from system apps.
4. Shutdown 3G, wifi, GPS when you don't need to use.

It would be nice if some battery performance tweaks be incorporated into the ROM

Hi all,
I have a problem with a battery drain that i am not able to understand, i recently deleted fb and whatsapp but this has not solved the problem, i do not have viber and i have freezed almost everything even maps....i attach the log of better battery stats
I get almost 10%/h of drain, unacceptable for 2100mah...im missing s3....
SOLUTION:
The problem is the charger, i think that my charger is not original or maybe it has some weird error that prevents the phone from going into deep sleep.
This is the post where i got the informations i needed:
To make deepsleep working again you just have to charge your phone (not necessary) and then reboot it without plugging the cable in again. I write this while my phone is in deepsleep from something like 3 mins, i discovered now that post so i don't know if it's a permanent fix.
Hi davide136,
That is very abnormal, the phone should be deep sleeping overnight for the most part when screen is off.
Have you tried the "Greenify" app? it makes a difference of night and day when it comes to battery life. EDIT: Sorry I just noticed you have Greenify in BBS already.. that's weird.
If you have Titanium Backup, and you are unlocked - backup LG MLT, then uninstall it.
Perhaps disable Fast Dormancy as well - that may help.
Nope it didn't worked...i have uninstalled lmt but still deepsleep not showing in cpuspy nor bbs...i didn't have switched fast dormancy because vodafone supports it so many thinks it is better to leave it on...i is needed i will search how to do it do you need any screen or log?
Atlast i can see a guy who is wrryin juz lyk me..... .... Ya buddy im also facing the same problem.... At max 30% battery drain over night..... Sometimes ma mobile enters deep sleep mode and im getting awesome battry backup of 2 days with 2g data always on.... I use whatsapp nd fb.... No task killer nd battry saver kinda stuffs..... But if i restart the mobile its nt enterin deep sleep mode nd facin same battry drain..... Bettr battry stat shows no wake lock in alarm manager...!!

Try this one https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rootuninstaller.batrsaverpro, should work for you.
If not, make a factory reset and try this. My Docomo Optimus G can last 2 days with this.

The strange thing is that it seems to me that there is not any wakelock...i mean in my stats there is an amount of wakelock time really poor conpared with the amount of tim where the device was on...on 8h there are 30mins max of wakelock....so why it dos not go into deepsleep? Maybe its a kernel issue? There is any modded kernel for the optimus g ?

Yes...it still works..just to be sure if u open BBS you should see only the boot reference and not the since unplugged one...
All.
Yesterday I gave AccuBattery a try. An app loaded with information and stastics.
Anyway battery was 100% at 23:00hrs. Woke up at 03:00hrs (yes I'm an early riser) and battery was at 90%!???
Day previous battery hardly decreased during the night. (That's without AccuBattery installed)
Currently have greenify installed. Plus Boeffla kernel.
Surely AccuBattery must be the culprit?
What other apps are people using, that are effective and don't drain battery like nobody's business?

I've removed it since the original post.
I have Accubattery on my O+5. I used it also with my Axon 7 before. This phone always reported a high consumption of battery coming from Accubatery. Yet, I'm not sure it was really the case, the battery didn't seem to suffer from it.
Now, I think I'm going to try GSam and see how it goes. This software is vastlty used, seems to be pretty good at telling exactly how the battery is working, which app is using too much, and so on...
I wouldn't use Greenify with my O+5, I think it doesn't work well with Nougat. But I might be wrong.
I use BetterBatteryStats , it helped me a lot debunking the wakelocks and alarms associated to the huge wifi idle drain in the 4.5.5 update
And for the charge monitor I have the very good ChargeMonitor from XDA Apps --> https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/charge-monitor-t3555496
Just out of curiosity for those using Accubattery, what is your battery estimate? Mine is 3073mAh with of course the 3300mAh advertised.
Weird, I had a greater estimate on my Axon 7 when the battery was advertised as less (3250 advertised and an estimate at 3300mAh)

Hi. Do you have any issues with BetterBatteryStats after reboot ? In my case seems like its becomes broken.

No for me BBS works correctly after each reboot, but in the first place after the install I had to push it as a System App in order for him to work correctly

Thank you. Just went to setting, and tried to switch to system-app, but cannot do it. BBS suggested to install recovery zip. Did you installed zip or just used first option ?

Probably a bug from BBS
I choose "install as system app" , it also showed me the message that it failed and suggest to install via recovery zip but when rebooted I went to the app list and BBS was now successfully installed as a system app,
Absolutely off topic here.. but what are you using for the continuous screenshot?

It's a feature of the OP5
How to Take a Scrolling Screenshot on the OnePlus 5
Next, OnePlus offers a helpful “scrolling screenshot” feature. This takes continuous screenshots until you tell it to stop, allowing you to capture more than what you can see on the screen at any given moment. This is helpful for capturing an entire conversation of text messages, saving a full web page or long emails.
Press and Hold the Volume Down and Power button at the same time, then let go
You will see and hear the screenshot capture
Tap on Scrolling Screenshot on the bottom right side of the pop-up toolbar (rectangle phone icon)
The phone will scroll automatically and continuously take screenshots
Tap the screen to stop
Additionally, the OnePlus 5 will stop taking screenshots when it reaches a maximum file size or reaches the end of a page. Essentially it does all the work for you and is extremely convenient. It saves automatically, and now you can edit or share the screenshot like any other image.

Install 3C Toolbox.
See what applications are running in the background and how much CPU power they consume.
You do not use but still something works.... wrrrrrrr
