Hello all.
My question is, how soon until us toroplus users see the new 4.2.2 radio(s)? I'm guessing we'll get it when the actual OTA for the Toroplus drops, am I right? I know it seems like an impatient question, however.. I'm asking out of sheer curiosity.
Thanks all, and feel free to discuss stuff about 4.2.2. :good:

Hi,
Someone here who's going to get one of the gifted Nexuses with the preview JB ROM on them and wants to dump the ROM for us?
Would be very nice and I think there are some people who'd love to flash it.

I came to XDA to post this question, if those phones came pre-loaded with JB 4.1.
They didn't come preloaded BUT Google said they will be prompted to upgrade to the Preview Jelly Bean update within minutes.
Okay, so it's almost pre loaded ;-)
Which is even better so we can just grab the zip and don't need to pack the ROM.

That's even better... as it allows someone to just grab the OTA (preview) upgrade from the device!
will this only be for people who like to poke around with new stuff? or will it possibly be stable enough to use every day?
I'm on a Verizon Nexus and want JB now!
So any news on a dump? I came here to ask this exact question after I realized all the Gift Gnex devices were getting Jelly Bean :O

If this ota update is the case I am very excited...
They started handing out devices 17 minutes ago... be patient!!!
GNEX Jelly VZW/CDMA
Considering this leak is more than likely from a phone intended for a GSM carrier like TMobile or ATT, is it safe to say my VZW/CDMA GNEX will not be flashable, even with toying around with the radio?

OK. The leaks are out but they're only for "takju". Can I flash it onto my yakju?!
And it seems to be an update from IMM30D, I got IMM76I :-/
Well I'll do a Nandroid, flash it and hope it works ;-)

Hey guys, i've just flashed this and it works perfectly on my GSM Yakju! [x]
I've flashed "Koush's Jelly Bean repack" from

Runs pretty good on my European yakju. I only wiped Dalvik Cache.

This comment does not make sense. You should say "Runs pretty good on my European maguro." Yakju is a build that you are no longer running if you've flashed takju...
Found this post on the official rogers website thought i'd share it with you guys!
Smartphone

The important bit reads that the S3 will get JB in late November.
Stock ICS on my S3
hey guys noob question
who cares about rogers releasing jelly bean if theres already roms with jelly bean integrated into it. im assuming its samsung official jelly bean rom thats being released but what advantage does it have over aokp or cm10?

There are certain optimizations to this phone which Samsung keeps closed source. Having an official release may allow devs to take advantage of them.
Case in point: try doing a quadrant benchmark on both a touchwiz and aosp ROM and you'll see that the difference is profound.

Im assuming Rogers/Telus/Bell etc etc.. will all drop at the same time again.... like the last OTA.. I read somewhere on mobilesyrup.ca that telus was saying sometime november as well...

There are alot of users still on the original software, i am one of them. I never found one that looks or feels good like the original. Happy to see that JB will be here soon.
ugh that sucks rogers changed the date to early December but it seems as though a lot of the releases from other carriers have a lot of issues so hopefully bu the time we get it it will be worked out
Hopefully 4.2 will not be long after.
i can't stand Rogers.
Best choice i ever made was leaving them.

Don't hold your breath.
Or do I have to flash it manually? If so, is there a place I can find a perfectly stock version, un-tweaked with the original kernel, etc? Thank you in advance.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
There is no OTA for 4.2 for any CDMA Nexus. You can flash a stock 4.2 ROM either in the Development section or on the rootz site.

Toro probably won't see an OTA for several months, if at all. VZW might be on the ball with this update and we'll get one by Christmas, but I'm not holding my breath

"If at all". Really? We already got JB 4.1 first before even Verizon's own Droid line up. Sure, we wait a bit longer for an official OTA, but we're still one of the first to get it.

I only mention it because the fire sale they had on the GN's really makes it seem like VZW is trying to get rid of their stock and move on. I admit that was pretty overly negative thinking, but I don't have much faith in big corporations.
Thanks for the responses. Any recommendations for a pure stock 4.2? I believe I saw an AOSP 4.2 in the development forum, but I figured it was tweaked around.

MMuzzy's and mwalt2's ROMs are both apparently working quite nicely. I'm on mwalt's myself and have had no problems. Everything right now is basically stock because there's just not been enough time to monkey with things.
I recommend Jake's JellyBelly rom. It's on RootzWiki, though.

what's up fellow s3 users. for those of you that updated their s3 to the official jelly bean that was provided through the OTA, how's the battery life on it compared to ICS? is it better or worse? trying to gather some info on this from people that updated their phone to see if i wanted to update it or keep it at ICS atm. thanks !

Just a quick question, really. I know that FL16 has been put out for testing and whatnot, but does Samsung plan to do an OTA update to 4.2.1 for our phones in the future, or is 4.1.2 going to be it for us?
Thanks

OK, that's good to know. I'm guessing that if it doesn't happen any improvements that 4.2.1 has will eventually, if not already, be available to be loaded onto the phone in custom ROMs or through other methods?

You have alpha aosp 4.2.1 ROM to test in original dev forums. Thats the only 4.2 ROM for our device yet.
We will likely see cm10.1 at some point.
