Led - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there any way to change color on this device, tried a couple of apps the don't seem to work? Cheers
Sent from my HTC Desire using xda app-developers app

I surely know that the desire is capable of doing blue and pink light fron then i was using redux 1.2. I havee been trying different apps, but they are not the same.
I tried searching through the system files, and i found something about leds in lib/hw. I don't know how to edit those files, but I would like too.

LED me know and Light Flow r pretty good.

Cheers lads I will try them out

What settings are you using? I tried changing the charging light, but it didn't work. It still shows the amber one.

when u start the app for the first time it asks to enable accessibility, enable it. then press settings and check root option and grant root.

Did both root access and accessibility thing as soon as I first opened the app.
Tried using it again. Now the led doesn't turn on at all. I have the worst of luck at these things...
Edit:
F*ck it... I quit.

[Q] Any way to permanently disable/turn OFF the H,M,B,S capacitive lights??

I would LOVE to permanently disable the lights of the capacitive buttons. I hate the lights behind the Home, Menu, Back, Search buttons and would like to permanently disable them.
Please and thank you!
you can have my EVO; the lights don't work anymore ...
cm has the option for that, also a market app called leds hack can do it on on sense roms

How did you do this? You can change the color of the buttons? I'm on the "Light sersor levels screen" in CM6.1.2 but different values don't do much. 0 under "buttons" turns them off like xjackofall said, but a different color would be nice.

That application in the market just kept asking for permission via superuser. If I act fast i can sneak into the program and disable the lower leds but it's always asking permissions.
Any fix?

[Q] LED notification?

Does the s2 have this option? If so where do I enable it? I hate having to keep turning on the phone to see if I missed any messages or notifications... Thanks
The T-Mobile variant does not have LED notifications. Its a bummer but it is what it is.
Edit: Solution below.

Okay, I got it to work... Now when the led shows. Is there another way to go straight to the app that the led came up for? Or do I have to dismiss it first, then power on phone?
Also, is there a way from preventing the screen to turn on/off when the message or miss call comes in... I just want the led to show, no light up
how much of a battery killer is this app? just wondering haha
Notification LEDs
Are there any notification leds on this phone? I have missed a few calls and received texts, but only found out after I powered back up from standby. I have only ever had HTC phones before, and they all had notification leds...any help would be great..TIA
Not at the moment. It would be awesome if we could make the soft keys flash to notify though!

Is it possible to change notification led colour?

Is it possible to have diff colour for diff notifications?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
you can't change it yourself.
red is assigned to power(charging/low power)
green for actual notifcations
blue for sound recording.

Actually you can (somewhat)...Well I did with the Handsent SMS app. Its possible to change the colors for the notifcation within that app so I'm guessing that the notifications colors only work if the app has it within the settings.

I'm getting something different on my Note 2.
Red is the same, for power.
Blue is for notifications (sms and such)
Haven't seen a green notification light yet.

That means with the right software it can be changed. Maybe some developer will be able to come up with something

Wow, thanks to this thread, I finally came to know that Note 2 does have a notification LED just like galaxy s3 as someone told me it doesn't have. Lightflow is good but drains a lot of battery. Try this as well https://play.google.com/store/apps/...51bGwsMSwxLDMsImNvbS5rb28ubGlnaHRtYW5hZ2VyIl0.

Any possibilities of Notification LED to get damaged or burn out by using this (or any similar) app?

Is this how the LED notification works when charging?

Just got my i747m s3 and I was wondering if the LED notification is working properly when charging.
LED notification when charging:
flashes red intermittently when charging
flashes green intermittently when fully charged
Is this normal?
I thought it would be solid colours during charging/charged, instead of flashing intermittently.
- stock rooted telus rom
I'm pretty sure it is not supposed to flash

He doesn't need to do that, his SIII works fine. Light Flow is an app that allows you to control the LED light. Even when disabled it sometimes does stuff in the background.
I disabled the charging LED in the options, myself. In my dark room it was enough light to keep me awake, so it had to go.

Never had this issue with my stock s3. Using an app to solve this can be okay but, usually, when I pay good money for a device, I want it top notch!

Notification LED

Is there a way to change the notification led when i get a message or missed call? Ive tied light flow and other apps buy nothing works. Btw my OG is reported
SPRINT has a habbit of having their phones built with 2 color LED's red/green. The Nexus has multis but I believe we got left out of the fun with our OG's. Maybe somebody else knows other wise but I have been unsuccesful and am sure this is the case
My HTC Hero had a single (white) color roller ball but other heros built for other companies had the multi color rollers for instance.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1983941
I mentioned this same problem earlier. No fix that I can find, though I'd definitely throw some $ towards someone finding a way to make the notification led flash faster, even if it requires root

I got the LED to blink alot.
Rooted with esFileExplorer
Open /system/etc/system.xml
Change notification_light_pulse from 0 to 1.
Save.
Enjoy

I tried that before, didn't seem to work with texts/email notifications. Still around 30 seconds.
Yes it speeds up charging notifications. The rest are still slow

Yea, it would be nice to find a way to speed up the blink frequency without rooting or anything.
