I am currently on CM10.1 20130101 experimental with LF2 modem and Nashdogg's NS4G modem patch. My plan is to flash a modified kernel from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1848010 then flash an Epic modem (the fc09 or fc19) then flash the CM10.1 rom that is on my sd card then flash gapps. Do I need to redownload the CM10.1 rom or am I safe to flash the original on my sd card? My question is this: does the NS4G patch change anything in the rom or does it leave the rom untouched?
Edit: I'm trying to get back to the Epic modem and stock CM10.1 rom so I can test USB tethering.
All you need to do is flash a kernel like nitest kernel for the epic modem and then odin the epic modem and you should be fine
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk 2
The patch only affects the ROM after it has been flashed. It will not modify the .zip on your sdcard.

Are you talking about post #1464 in this thread? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=37636139&highlight=reverter#post37636139 Just want to make sure I download the correct zip.
If so, would I just flash this zip then an Epic modem?

hi....check with my device in bionic cow2 firmware. inside there is already include as what you have mention.
There is no /system/usr/idc folder in the ROM I'm using, and I think there isn't one in any other ROM too, since they are all based on the same Android version.
To make this have an effect, we need to find the equivalent file in our ROM and change it accordingly.
What exactly does this mod do?

I know you said you have searched and everything but honestly this is a place of research. To ask is ICS stable and say you have not gotten a definite answer is because so many people in here have different opinions of what stable really is. So many people in here post bugs that are not really bugs and honestly do not do their homework prior to posting. I am on CM9 and someone said they cant wait to get on CM9 when GPS is fixed but gps has never been an issue for me or a host of others. Also if it is there is a simple fix for it which has been around since GB.
If you do not know how to check your rom at this point to see what you version you are running which I understand is a noob issue. I would seriously read up on a few threads before moving forward to ICS. Its not for a noob at all unless you are prepared to possibly use your insurance. Not trying to scare but trying to make you aware...

First of all a huge thanks to Sextape for the FI25 release. Thanks to Calkulin for use of the install script. Thanks to Chainfire for SuperSU.
Flash this to get Deodexed/Odexed stock FI25 with latest root (SuperSU), su binary and Busybox 1.20. These Do Not include a kernel.
There is a version for no data wipe and data wipe. Make sure you don't get them mixed up.
All of the zips wipe cache and dalvik for you so no need to do that separately.
I am not responsible for anything that happens to your phone. You do this at your own risk.
Also note that if you are using Agat's FH13 or FH23 stock repacks, do not flash the data wipe zips. It will not boot. For some reason those kernels can't be wiped or factory reset.
Looking for Kernels or Modems? Try the rwilco12 repositories.
