Where now for AOKP? - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

Now that Kasp3rd is done, where do AOKP fans turn for updates?

If you need Wifi tether or bluetooth, aokp based rom is a no go for now.
Maybe you can try the new Dandroid rom. It looks like aokp but it's a tw rom which have almost no bug.

There are a few alternatives. Rootbox has Rom Control and is reported to be very Daily Driver for multiple users. It has a "Weekly" update that has a more "stable" propability, and there are nightlies as well. I personally use Tasks AOKP from the AT&T thread I flash it no problem with latest TWRP without having to alter any scripts, although some report needing to change some scripts to flash it. I do edit all build prop lines that show a 747/d2att being used. And Jameson in reg Development has a build he is experimenting with, not nightly and no real up to date stuff with it.

Currently best JB ROM (CM10 feautres-like)?

I know I'm probably gonna get some flak for this, but I'm not big on flashing new ROMS everyday. I'm using CM9 RC1 and rather than flashing RC2, I'd rather try something with Jellybean. I've tried both CM9 and AOKP build 40, and frankly felt more comfortable with CM9, I don't like some things in AOKP (like the huge notifications toggle, compared to the not so intrusive CM9 notification toggle).
So here's the question:
As of now, which is the best Jellybean ROM out there, incorporating the kind of features you'd expect from a CyanogenMod rom?
I had my eye in Jellybro and Paranoid, but would like to hear more from other users before plunging.
Thanks!
PS: Oh, I have GSM GNex

I don't think I know of any ROMs like CM10 just the CM10 Alpha builds and the only one I have seen so far that is only CM10 is Kang's JellyBro but be warned that these CM10 ROMs are Alpha builds meaning that a lot of things are going to be broken and you will be flashing an updates about once a week as they fix new bugs. Of course you don't have to flash the updates that often but you will probably want to get the increased functionality with each update.

What about "stock" ROMs like Android Revolution HD? How do these stack up against trully stock JB?

I completely agree. It's an awesome ROM. This coming from a person who had never unlocked, rooted, or flashed a ROM on the Nexus. It's very stable and rocks!
Also Iceandfire updates are frequent.
Swapped from Jelly Belly to AOKP JB preview and loving it, it's much more stable. As far as the notif toggles in AOKP.. You can easily change them to your liking in ROM Control, I don't like the big "switch" style toggles either.
total noob here, read 100,s of post and just really have two questions .if I use the toolkit and make recovery, root and unlock boot loader then down.load something like the paranoidandroid Rom an flash that on I'm good to go? an question two in the toolkit I seen the couple different back ups ,does any of them restore like contact photos an other customizations I've had before hand and if so do I just wait til I have th paranoid up and running and follow toolkit steps to restore ?thank you much

Well you can either create a nandroid backup through recovery or you can use Titanium Backup and then make sure when you back up you back up contact storage and restore contact storage. Doing either method will backup and restore all your contacts as they were. The same can be done for backing up and restoring text messages except you back up the phone/messaging storage in Titanium Backup.

[Q] Recently switched over to Xylon Rom

Hi guys, I'm new on this board and I just wanted a ask a few question about this rom. Currently I'm using the Xylon 2.3.3 and I'm loving it so far, running beautifully smooth. I just got a question about the gapps, I've installed the 2013-2-15 gapps with all the photosphere stuff, however there is a newer version gapp which is 20130301, should I update to that?
Also is the kernel that it came with any good? or should I change it to AK purity like a lot of user have said to make it run a lot better.
It's safe to update, just flash over the current gapps.
As far as the kernel goes, most users report great things from the AK kernel so it's worth a shot.
For future reference, please use the corresponding Pre-existing ROM thread to ask such questions. There is no need to initialize a completely new thread.

thanks I will in the future. btw I was just checking the kernel version. It seems like the rom has already built in with the ak kernel purity.030. Correct me if I'm wrong.
If that's what your about tab says then yeah.

What the most stable AOSP rom?And few more questions

I havent been on here for a while and currently on MOAR rom, i love it but i been having wifi issues with it. My wifi disconnects every hour or so, so i cant download things.
Im thinking about flashing CM/AOSP rom but would like to know which is most stable and if i can use Morphology with CM/AOSP roms.Or is there any barebone stable Twiz roms that i can use Morphology with.
Thanx in advance.
Oh, and what is AIO Aroma? Is this Aroma installer for AOSP roms? And does it have theming like morphology?
There is no "most stable [type here] rom", they're all good
But generally its a good idea to stay on builds up to the latest official version (aka 4.1.2), because anything above that will be prone to issues
Aroma installer is like an installer customizer for android...it let's the dev give you options about how to install it, what to install, etc. And no, it's not restricted to AOSP roms, it can be added to any flashable zip (rom, mod, theme, etc)
AIO just means all in one
Its not the MOAR ROM I'm on it w no WiFi issues, i think flashing another ROM will not fix your issue. I can't remember if 2.3 MOAR came with the connection optimizer or not. If it did make sure you disable it.

I was on Sonic rom before and had no problems, but with Moar my fifi disconnects and reconnects once in a while.Maybe i just had a bad flash or wrong kernel,im on latest Agat.
Is there any roms that will let me connect my phone via usb to ps3 to copy files? I remember it could before ics update, isc uses new protocol so it cant connect to ps3 as mass storage. On my JB GS2 rom they have old mass storage protocol baked in but i havent seen this on S3 roms yet.

Honestly, I can't say, it just depends on what you're looking for. If maximum stability is a must, then the old CM would do the trick . I would just recommend going through the last couple pages for LiquidSmooth to get a sense for any bugs that have been fixed or are still present
Liquid Smooth is awesome, as well as DeviantXone.

In my opinion, as of late, most AOSP ROMs will lock up your phone or won't run smoothly.
Go with older builds that don't include the 3.4 kernel. All run smooth.
I ported Pure AOSP ROM if your looking for something no bells no whistles just Google its like a Galaxy Nexus for our SGS3

Thanks for the information!!
I read a bit this tread before i start this post here.
Okay so i will try to install this:
Build 3 Linaro Tablet UI Modded FINAL
+
gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip
right?
But what you mean with gm_2.0 kernel?
Is this included in the rom or i must flash this separately after install the rom+gapps?
Where can i download?
Sorry for my odd questions but i will do all right...
Hi frischeis and welcome!
Keep in mind the CM10 builds are not "officially" supported so there is the odd quirk here and there, overall all of the CM10 roms here are running pretty good. In terms of Pio's roms, he suggests using the kernel that is already packaged in his roms. The gm_2.0 kernel is a kernel that was developed with CM10 in mind: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1818924 and some say don't work well with his ROMS which is ok, because the prepackaged kernels in those ROMs are rock solid.
Also note that the CM10 roms are not ICS, they are Jellybean roms. There are still a few ICS roms out there if that is what you are interested in: These are listed from newest to oldest:

He pretty much nailed it, if you want a stock ish ICS I'd suggest his keebers work, there's also very outdated but functional CM9 builds around if that's to your liking.
It isn't so much I don't recommend the GM kernel with my roms, it's that I know it has issues that didn't get sorted out and reflects as users reporting Rom issues that aren't Rom issues, and to report issues with the included kernel first. If your setup likes the GM kernel, by all means enjoy it, it's been a great addition to the development on this device.
It also wasn't meant for JB, it was a purely ICS kernel, however our ICS kernels worked on 4.1 with no modding required, so it worked with JB with no changes. Got lucky and Acer had stuff going that ICS didn't need but JB does. It should also work in 4.2 with minimal fuss.

I'd recommend flashing different ROMs to see what you like. I like baked, and cm10 but I like the dark theme and on baked you can switch from tab UK and phab. Which is nice. Should help my tab last a while longer....lol the gm kernels have worked for me for quite a while. He had an over clock to. 1.7 MHz too.... no wonder his tab died...lol I think I still have a copy on my SD card! They run best on the older boards. So the community says. But my new one likes it. Over clock to 1.2 and lionheart and boom. I did like green ICS. And cm9 was a consistent winner. Cm10 has come a long way...

Everybody talk about the gm_2.0 Kernel.
So i have flashed KEBBERSROM_CMFLEX_V1.2 - Based on 4.1.2/CM10.
So is this kernel included or i must flash separately?
One issue two times i have with this rom: i got this notification: "Trebuchet is closed" and i dont come on the homescreen.
Only over the status bar-settings-apps i reset trebuchet and it works normaly.
I dont no was happend...

That launcher is buggy. Install and use Nova or Apex launcher and you won't have to worry about the force close.
Godmachine kernel is not in this ROM, it is packing ezTerrys version, which is the source for GodMachines kernel.
So technically it is almost the same but older and not tweaked as much. Solid kernel on this ROM.

I will try out...
Also don't disable Google search bar in trebuchet or it'll constantly crash. Another launcher would be better but to stop that particular issue, leave Google search bar enabled.

So i change the launcher.
Now i have nova launcher_works good.
In the moment no buggy situations.
:good:
Keep in mind though that this ROM isn't perfect. There are a few albeit very minor quirks. I have the issues in the OP of thread.
So what is your opinion about a Rom with JB 4.1.x
Witch one is your favorit?
Or better witch one has no bugs?

There is no bugless 4.1 as there wasn't one made for us, it's all done by developers on their own time. It more like, which bugs can you live with, most any of the 4.1 are daily drivable.
Tapatalked from my HTC DNA
So which rom has the fewest bugs?
I now is a difficult question.
And - or a better question:
In which rom is the further development or is the tablet too old to develop it further?
Which rom is pushing forward?
I read in some threads development is terminated!??
--------------------------------------------------------------------
At the moment I must say I am very satisfied with the KEBBERSROM_CMFLEX_V1.2!
So thank you again for to work behind the stage!!!
Some stopped development, yes. I'm going to start 4.2.2 builds soon...
"soon" doesn't mean that these builds will be available soon. I have to start from scratch..

ive been using pro bam 4.3 rom and it has been great. except for battery running out a little fast but am giving it a few days for the rom to settle in!
PA 3.99
I have been messing around with a lot of 4.3 roms and pretty much all of them have the same stability. As for me, I prefer PA (Paranoid Android) 3.99 and PAC Rom but more toward PA 3.99 because it just seem slightly less buggy and bit smoother. Again, to each their own at this point since there is no official 4.3 for this device.

I've been using Hellybean , always you the latest, no issues. Love it.
As others have said its really just a preference thing. I have been trying out a few different ROMs, just to see which ones I like the most, especially 4.3 versions. I have been using [ROM] Unofficial | CyanogenMod 10.2 | Diablo Kernel [09-23-13] from ThdDude for the past day or two and havent had any issues to speak of. I really like that it has the Diablo Kernel compiled. I have noticed though that for some reason when I was trying to Flash 4.3 ROMs with CWM the system would boot but then go black and would have to go into recovery. I finally decided to give TWRP a try and havent experienced any problems flashing 4.3 ROMs. I have actually really been enjoying it and have some real respect for the developers.
stable 4.3 roms
The best I have used is the 9/26 aokp by whitehawkz along with uber kernel. Running 2.6.3.0 twrp. Especially like the active notifications with no problems.
There is no BEST and yet they are all the BEST. Members are expected to research and read through the development threads before altering their device. The only thing you will get here is a list of all the ROM's because every member has found what is best for them. You can get the same list by looking at the first few pages in development.
Thread closed.
Have a great day!
