ineed help. i have unlocked the boot and install cwm but did nt get root, so i install twrp. now i have both recoveries instaled. how can i remove them?
You can't remove them, you can leave 1 of them ! Or stock, or custom. .. ..
well to remove a recovery you have to type
Code:
fastboot erase recovery
but i don't know if this will delete every recovery on your phone... and by the way, why you want to remove them?
after i install twrp recovery i couldnt reboot the phone. after some experiences the phone is working but i still have both recoveries. when i go to recovery mode sometimes goes to twrp and other times to cwm. and the phone says that has no root. i want to remove the recoveries bu i am afraid of doin damage to the phone, because it belongs to a friend and i dont want to spend money on a new one.
Something is off...there is no such thing as sometimes i have cwm and sometimes i have twrp !
Fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Fastboot erase cache
The recovery you flashed should be available !
Never had this in 2 years of time with CWM
i have never seen this situaton. i just want to remove the recoveries without any problems to the phone.
Well you can not "remove" it.....just flash one over the other.....mot the stock or a custom recovery.
I did that. I instal twrp over cwm and now i have both! If i use romtoolbox to go to recovery it goes to twrp. But if i go to boot and choose recovery it goes to cwm! I really want to remove both! If i use fastboot erase recovery will it work? I have never seen this problem and i did root on several android devices with no problem.

Guys we now have OFFICAL CWM and Rom Manager support.
you can flash CWM from rom manager but it wont be permanent so you need to flash a recovery.img as usual
DO NOT FLASH VIA ROM MANAGER
but any roms that are for the one v and have been uploaded to rom manager, will mean we can download and flash via rom manager
CWM 5.8.4.5
CDMA USERS PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS IT WILL NOT WORK USE THIS INSTEAD http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28251351#post28251351
This CWM will now be maintained by Koush, i'll just update this thread when a new version comes out.
Instructions to flash:
either use the all in one tool
or if you prefer to do it manually then
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot erase cache

It would help if you can elaborate "doesn't work". Listing the steps you tried to install the recovery and what are your trying to perform in the recovery
Well by doesn't work I mean that it goes to and HTC white screen "This build is for development purposes only..." and well with the current method of achieving root if I'm not mistaken you need a custom recovery. Initially I wanted to nandroid my phone before rooting. I wasnt yet aware that the user football had made a RUU available for the CDMA One V which latter turned to help clxcoltz and I in recovering our phones.
You don't need a custom recovery to root the phone. You only need to boot it with boot.superboot.img using adb.

The solution of your question is HTC made some kindda hardware change in WFS shipped i guess after May 2012 due to that change you cant see CWM but your 4 keys might be lightning if you installed the latest CWM but you cant enter

As mindfreak62 stated this is indeed an issue rooted in some unpublished hardware revision to the WFS. There are a handful of users with the issue and it is presently under investigation here. There is currently no solution that will allow you to run a custom recovery and many ROMs have the same issue. Your best bet presently is to stick with stock firmware until the issue is resolved. You can get back to this state by flashing your device with an RUU.

I'm trying to get cwm recovery on my htc ove v VM. I have unlocked boot loader and rooted successfully. When i fast boot the recovery image, it says sending writhing and done. When I reboot and try to boot cwm it just stays on the htc screen with the red letters, is this normal? I should think not. I'm sure this has happened to someone else I just need a solution. Any advice would be great.
Hi
CWM is not recommended for CDMA AFAIK
Use TWRP for CDMA instead
max

I got CWM flashed using the android ultimate tool found on this site. Before that nothing worked. The only minor thing is that you have to scroll through the cwm menus three times to get to where you can select with the power button, but then it works fine. I've made my nandroid backup. But haven't flashed a rom yet... kinda nervous about getting into that one, But if you guys have any suggestions about STABLE roms, that would be helpful as well. Thanks,

Hello,
I know you're getting tired of this questions, but I searched for hours and still can't find a solution to my problem.
I was trying to root my HTC One X (international) when I did probably something stupid, and now I'm in boot loop (only normal HTC logo appears). My HTC One X however is unlocked and my hboot version is 1.39. Also, I managed to install 'ClockwordkMod Recovery' via a command on my computer.
I just want my old factory settings back please, I don't really need a ROM anymore lol, I just want my HTC One X back too work :crying:
Thankyou in advance:good:

Are you sure that you have the one X and not xl?

First of all, make sure that the bootloader is unlocked,
then flash philz or twrp 2.6.3.0 or cwm 5.8 touch recovery or 6.0.3.2 non touch recovery.
Now mount usb storage from the recovery and copy the stock rom nandroid backup or any custom rom that u wanna install, to the internal storage.
Now, Unmount usb storage and restore the backup/install the custom rom.
