just got back to a galaxy nexus and man it feels so natural lol
I had an update to 4.2.1 and since then i noticed that my LTE is extremely slow now. Mind you Im connected to an LTE repeater and my sprint coworkers are pulling in some amazing number but mine cant pull more than .4 megs.
Ive updated profile, prl and hard reset. (im on the sprint nexus btw)
Im not rooted but i wonder if i should root and just push a modified build.prop
any help will be appreciated.
is there anything i can add to the build.prop that can improve data speeds?
ive been ablt to do it on gsm android phones, but im not sure if i can do it on a cdma device
Try different radios

besides that are there any build.prop mods i can do for data? im not sure if that works on a cdma device
FH05 radios work far better for me than the GA02 radios. My nexus won't stay connected to 4g on ga02 radios but it's stable on fh05. You may want to try asking in the sprint nexus developer section if no one can help you here

Is anyone else experiencing "issues" with the CDMA radio "overtaking" the LTE radio? It's as if the CDMA radio rules over the LTE radio and decides whether or not to use 4G or 3G.
I've had to toggle LTE multiple times after it went to 3G in order to get LTE back.
noticed this as well running 4.0.2 radios, at least you get it back after toggling mine drops it altogether... but I just got my nexus today so maybe I overlooked something

I experience the same, 4G works great, until it drops to 3G. Then it seems to take forever to bump up to 4G again, but usually I have to toggle it off and then back on. A friend of mine can't get 4G to work at all, Verizon has told him it's a radio issue (odd though because they tried his sim in 3 different Galaxy Nexus devices). I'm going to try and upgrade him to the leaked 4.0.4 build this week to see if the new radios will help him, it's too nice of a phone to be stuck on 3G all the time.
I eventually unlocked my AT&T SGS3 and switched to T-Mobile with a friend. I noticed often times i'll be in the same spot, and my phone with go from 4g to E in a matter of seconds, then keeps switching back and forth. My friend who switched with me has the Galaxy Note 2 from AT&T and we'll be in the same car and his phone will be on 4g, while i'll be stuck on Edge with no internet. I'm wondering if I flashed my modem to something else, if I were to get better reception. Or perhaps a newer ROM with better T-Mobile radios? I'm running the newest Cyanogen with the I747UCDLK3 Modem. I would appreciate any help! Thanks.

You can try different modems for your carrier (start with latest). There's a modem sticky thread.
One thing though, T-mobile is known to have bad 4G coverage and they're currently upgrading their towers so if your phone connects to a tower that doesn't have 4G yet, you connection will drop.

I do change my modem whenever there's a update to try it. Usually with better results than the last one.
I'm with Rogers though, so can't try it for T-Mobile. It's something to test as I can't know which one will work best in your area and on your device.
Hi i have Galaxy s3 ATT i747 unlocked and every ROM i install give me 3G.. If i leave stock ROM it gives me 4G with know problems.. Is there any fix i can do that will give me 4G and modem i can install. Im on tmobile network
Can you see your IMEI number? I lost mine while flashing roms and the network couldn't recognize my phone, so it booted me down to 3g (but I'm on ATT).

Do your roms have the correct apn's?
I'm having connectivity challenges when trying 4.2.2 roms on Rogers w/ my i747m.
Tried most of the recommended modems on for i747m (complete modem list) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1831898
with CM10.1 and AOKP Task650.
The result, at worst little to no connectivity, at best intermittent connectivity. It doesn't seem to want to switch between towers and getting connectivity better than gprs or edge is pretty much non-existent
When I burn the rooted Rogers ROM - root66_RWC_I747MVLDLK4.tar.md5 I get good connectivity switching and 3G. I haven't seen LTE yet but it was only officially rolled out here 9 days ago so it's still crap and only partially out.
I'm about to roll back to the rooted ROM and apply the latest Canadian patch via KIES and give up on S3 mods. If some kind canadian has the time or inclination a faq/step by step on a S3 rogers install that actually works would be very appreciated. I've tried most of the recipes on XDA, task650, cyanomodgen and can't seem to come up with a working combination that gives me data/phone service that is at least as good as stock.
thanks,
rf

This may be correct. Do other ROMs switch between 3G and H+? Do you see 4G vice 4G LTE on stock rom? What download speeds are you getting on stock and other ROMs? With AT&T, HSPA was labeled 4G instead of H or H+. They had to add LTE to the 4G after LTE went online for them in order to differentiate a difference. The majority of places have HSPA labeled as H or H+ and LTE is considered true 4G. I have noticed that many ROMs will show 3G until data is received/sent and it switches to H+.
I have a rooted Galaxy Nexus with Sprint running ParanoidAndriod 3.55. I think my radios are older and I need to update them. My baseband version shows L700.05 V.FC12 / L700.FC12 which I understand thier are newing radios out to download. I am having issues with signal lose making phone calls and what not. I live in a area where Sprint should have no issues with service wihich I have never had before. I am hoping that updating my Radios will help. Can someone please tell me which one are the newest and the best way to install them. Thanks.

The newest radios (ga02) are in the second post of this thread. You just flash them. :http://forum.xda-developers.com/sho...rcery 5.3-Toroplus ~5/25~(Collectors edition)

Thanked you by mistake, actually.
4G symbol on status bar is a cosmetic thing... Since LTE is considered to be 4G... and vice-versa

So, I thought I would ask here. I can't find a lot of information on the problem. There are sites that have contradicting information in google results, but mostly, nothing consistent. Hoping at least here I can get a why or a how to fix it.
So, as the title suggests, I have a Sprint Samsung Galaxy Nexus L700 running Slimkat with Android 4.4.2 build 4 official. I think there's an update to that rom, but at this point I don't think the rom has anything to do with the issue. All roms have the issue.
So the issue in question. Sprint rolled out LTE 4G in my area but my nexus never gets it. I know we have 4g because my Galaxy Tab 3 picks it up all the time. When I look at the tab, the network is listed as LTE:14. However, no matter what I try, the nexus will only ever pick up CDMA - EvDo rev A. This is a 4G phone and I'm using the GJ04 LTE/CDMA radios, but I never get 4g. I get 3G just fine. For whatever reason, it's like the LTE radio on this nexus never bothers to activate.
What i've tried to fix this:
1. Different radios. I've tried them all, from FC02 to GJ04.
2. Different roms. Same issue on all roms. Doesn't appear to be a custom rom issue.
3. Doing the data settings to LTE only. This doesn't stick, it just goes back to CDMA. I'm told this is by design due to 4g being data only mode.
I don't know what else I can try. Sprint's only answer is to blame it on the custom rom. Which I can't necessarily blame them for, it did void my warranty, but even with the stock rom I still get no LTE.
Any ideas?
Well for sure one thing is to flash the stock rom and see if you get the lte connections.
second, try someone else sim and see if that fixes the issue.
Sprint Galaxy Nexus getting no 4g inside coverage area
I am having the same issue as the first post and have tried all of the same troubleshooting tactics with no prevail. I am currently running LiquidSmooth v3.1 4.4.4 KK baseband GJ04. I have contacted sprint and they are of absolutely zero help. Not only am I having 4g connection issues but I can barely receive 3g. I am located literally in what sprint considers one of their best 4g coverage areas in my area yet haven't been able to connect once. Please any help or insight as to a solution would be greatly appreciated.
