From my understanding of how screen res works, our phones, if 720p, will tone down the 1080p video to 720p regardless of it being a 1080p file. We have the processing speed to play the larger uncompressed 1080p, but our screen is only 720p.
U can put a Lambo engine in a Honda Accord and see some benefits of it, but you would need to change out all the parts so they work in unison to maximize ur potential.
In short, get the 720p files, smaller size, smoother playback, same enjoyment.

It is up to you. If note2 is your only player then stick with 720p. If you decide to play it on 1080p tv, burn blue ray disk etc then use 1080p. You cant always convert file down but up conversion wont bring more details.

But replying to an already started thread will still put it at the top of the list on the first page. Bumped, if you will. So you are more likely to get an answer. Considering, anyone reading the thread, should assume you have already read the whole thread and not tell you to just search for that thread. I understand you are trying to revive a topic that hasn't been talked about in a while but there is no need to start a whole new thread. It helps all of us if all the information is consolidated into one thread instead of 50 different ones.

Exactly. Im not trying to be rude, but you gotta learn how things run here on xda. If people kept making a new thread for every single little question
that wasn't completely answered in an already established thread xda would become ridiculously cluttered. Like the poster said below just bump an older thread and ask your question. Dont be so sensitive lol...

Lets give the guy a break, it happens on all the forums. Ppl making the switch from non smartphones and crapple to android and they need help with navigating xda. If he says he searched then take it for what it is and move on, the mods will merge what they feel is necessary and delete the threads. Xda is about helping each other out.

anyway. I don't know why EVERY since person coming from a fascinate has to make a thread saying, I am coming from the fascinate whooo
stop spamming the inc2 community, please.
Android godfather? The Droid Incredible 2 is my first smartphone and I have barely asked questions. It's not rocket science to figure out how a phone works and using search function to find answers which have been most likely answers several times. And I also wonder why every fascinated user announces that too.

Is that supposed to be a statement? We are douches because we are tired of the general section being cluttered with the same question over and over?
Positive direction was given. Search the forum before posting a question. If you ask a question that has obviously been answered then expect to get harsh answers.

I see what you're saying but the minute you apply leniency to new users is when someone else will take advantage of it and since its a new phone, there will be a lot more newbies with the same question...i really don't know why I'm still typing. Your logic is flawed.
New users should NOT announce their arrival because it just clutters up the forum and causes it to become a giant clusterf**k. Rather, they should learn to read existing posts and stickies so they can learn the ins and outs of their phone without having to ask the same question that was asked a hundred times before.
I've been on XDA for the past year and I don't have more than 15 posts because I don't post every inane question or comment. Rather, if I have an issue or question, I search, but usually I won't have to because I've done most the reading already so I know what to expect.
Also, like someone else mentioned earlier, we don't care that you got this phone unless you are a developer. Stop being so narcissistic.
is the sexiest thing I have ever seen on a phone. No joke, I almost blew one all over it the first time I used it, lol.

For oc/UV check out the original dev forum.
As for benchmarks... Yeah.
The random number generator known as quadrant will spit out anything from 5,000's to 9,000's for me.
The random number generator known as antutu spits out anything from 4,000's to 8,000's.
Have fun!

Even though we all know we can do a google search, we still get those people that like to waste time just to be funny....what a shame. Some people are able to provide better info just from having a first hand experience than what a google search might pull up.
Sorry dude that I am of no help, but I just wanted to say it sucks to not get an answer in a QUESTION & ANSWER forum.

thanks! yeah i was really looking for why it was used in the jedi rom and i saw people had asked in that thread and didnt see any answers, so i figured a new thread might get me somewhere. Unfortunately we'll always have dbags on the internet!
That was not intended to be funny or rude. Had the question been "is there a noticeable impact on performance one way or the other, and does gpu rendering do anything to help", that would have been a great question. A simple "what is", especially when one manages to find XDA, without having done some simple research that would have easily answered the question is something that will catch you flack on almost any forum.
I apologize if you found it rude, as it was assuredly less intended than some of the other responses.
Check out how many threads have topics as "wtf" or "help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!". It helps everyone in the end if people ask better questions.

Actually edfunkycold has been extremely helpful. No I'm not trying to be confrontational. My apologizes in advance if that's the way it sounds. The threads that edfunkycold pointed you to have the information necessary to complete what you want to do. There is going to be quite a bit of reading, and research involved. Especially as this is your first time. The best advice I can give you is read, read, and read some more. If you have any questions search the thread that pertains to what you are trying to accomplish. If you still cannot find the answer post up in that thread. Someone is usually around to help, in almost every thread. BTW, yes I do know how hard it is to search for answers to questions sometimes . Even though I've been around for a while, I still use the search function quite a bit. Sometimes more than I'd like to admit.

No offense taken at all. But read what you wrote. You feel that by starting a new thread it helps new noobs find it. You don't think that adds to the already hundreds of threads which exist, many of them repeated questions on the same topic? Now that is going g to make it even more difficult for a new person to find the thread with the correct information.
Keep in mind the longer threads with more activity are usually the ones with all the right answers. Some reading and searching will be necessary. Within the thread itself you can search that specific thread to get the information you need and the results come back in order from newest post to oldest post.
I search every day, I search mostly for people that are looking for answers. Keep in mind I do it all from my phone mobile so I only use the app.
Food for thought.

Yes I understand that but thanks to people like u and the others I mentioned links are posted to those threads right on the pages we often look for. Even tho there are repeat questions not everyone has the same desire there fore when the links a provided we get helped as much as we can by this. This isn't a dispute or argument in anyway but a "noobs stand point of thinking" if that's what u wanna call it. Maybe this explains it or maybe it doesn't but it shows we have a high regard for this Site instead of going to another forum or Google searching our issues (which most leads back to here). This is a good Site and everyone is loved here especially by us noobs. I'm not sure if u seen it but a while ago I wrote a thank you post cause what u guys do here is awesome and if it wasn't for u guys my phone would be plain old vanilla my mind bored and a bunch of noobs lost hopelessly. Maybe if we can get some filters on here maybe for dates or key words or different updates there wouldn't be soo many repeat threads. U said yourself u search using your phone (as do I 99% of the time) how long does it take u to usually find a thread you've never seen on a topic u barely have any info about?

If you want to search a specific thread on the xda app you need to be in the thread then click settings then click Web view to take you to a browser then use the search function View attachment 2180309
I would recommend the Tapatalk app which is much much better and you can search in general or within a specific thread right from the app. You can search by key words and also by specific username as well. View attachment 2180312View attachment 2180313

If you go Boost or Virgin you will need a donor phone,If you go Cricket you will not as they allow flashed phones on their system.Crickets service is OK but with a flashed phone you will always be 3G no 4G. The S3 is a fairly easy phone to flash you can do it with QPST. Or since you are in louisville the corporate stores can flash it for you pretty cheap.

Yes it's about 50 to 100 dollars tho I think. But I'd rather learn it myself and hustle their customers instead of them hustling me lol. I'd be fine with 3g that's all I get with sprint anyway. Can u explain the qpst thing? I've seen it b4 but don't quite understand it

Use this guide only instead of using DFS use QPST http://www.cricketusers.com/cdma-sa...galaxy-s3-cricket-talk-text-mms-internet.html you could use DFS as well I just prefer QPST and a note if you use QPST write two profiles enable both of them and just make one active seems to work better that way.
