Is there any way to increase the size of the agenda calendar widget? I would like to fill the whole page. Not just have today's info.
Is there a site thru Samsung to download additional widgets?
Thanks
You dont need to make a new thread for every question, just make 1 medium sized one to combine all your concerns.
And if its not provided as an option, then no you cant resize the widget.

Didn't mean to offend anyone. In the evo general sections, they prefer separate threads for searching reasons. Well I should say most prefer.
I wasn't trying to flood or troll. I just wasn't having lunck with my specific searches.

Well I'm no one to even be getting mad, just trying to give advice
Especially if you have more than 2 / 3 problems, its better to just make a big thread and bullet your issues/questions
And the general section isn't for questions, by the way

Just a FYI, this is not the general section, it's Q&A.
Hahaha, I was referring to what you said about the evo forums

Am I the only one who finds it a bit annoying to scroll through page after page looking for apps when 70% of the threads are about themes?
Don't get me wrong, I appreciate all the work that you guys do here at xda! Although it would be easier to find the good stuff if themes and apps were separated imo
Sorry if the thread is misplaced.
Exactly! I'd like to have all app infos in one place.
I don't understand why people using themes but that's another case.
I'd like to see a forum for all themes and apps requiring root and another for all un-rooted stuff.
What's the point. No one reads or obeys any of the rules anyway. People just post what they want, where they want.
An example is this thread. It should have been posted in the Q&A section

Multiple sections with no one to police them .
Apps are likely to be posted in Q&A Themes in dev anything in anywhere .
If users are to lazy to search then why should they be spoonfed .

but naturally u would ask a question about themes and apps thread in the thread? cause i personally wouldnt of thought to look in q/a for something like this. atleast this way people who may of thought it will see it while looking round on the thread? i think apps and themes having their own separate thread would be good. why do i want to see apps when im looking for themes? or why do i wona see themes when im looking for apps? i think its a great idea. thumbs up

What posters should do is put either APP or THEME heading at the beginning of each post .

When I created the thread I saw that someone had created a similar thread in a different forum. It was placed under "Themes and Apps" and it hadn't been moved so I thought that it was a good place.
And in the bottom of my post I apoligize for eventual misplacement
On the first page where you see all the forums, themes and apps are separated for Android. Why wouldn't all the subforums have the same design?
And yes people should have [THEME] and [APP] in the topic, and many of the posters actually do this. But how is that helpful in this matter? The problem for me isn't that I click on threads and find the wrong stuff, it's that I have to scroll through lots of stuff that I'm not interested in at the time.
Regarding search, do you mean that I should search for everything? How would I find new stuff? I can't guess what people name their apps
I'd like these subforums separated too. I look for both, but never at the same time. The apps seem to get buried under all the themes.
I don't think the thread is in the wrong section, it doesn't really have to do with the phone itself, but the forum, and this section of the forum.
Now ontopic, I also find it a bit fragmented to see the themes when I want the apps, but then the same thing happens with other subforums too. Personally I would like a separate subforum for apps and one for themes, but it might increase the unwanted clutter.
I think each ROM should have its own section not just a thread. I find searching through 1000+ posts for one bit of info very hard work, and I bet others do as well. Search is good but unless you know the exact wording its not always the best option.
With each ROM having its own section each question will be in its own thread, making finding the answers to repeated questions much easier.
What say the masses ?
Thanks
interesting idea...but think not possible or..?
You know requesting new sections every day would be pain in the arse for moderators?
It's good as it is now.
When you have one sub-forum for each rom then you have a loooooooong list ... and thats not better then so
Questions shouldnt be in dev section - so there are only dev threads -> done
Question about an spezific rom can be posted in the rom thread.
I think this can be achieved through "Related Threads" (With some modification). So that once u open a thread from one developer all this threads in the same section apear at the bottom.
Just a wild idea
Maybe the mods can make the most useful/best roms sticky...
agree! very hard and sometimes slow to search through 10,000 posts .. it 's often a nightmare to follow the thread

even with search button.. e.g. you search for an issue on battery.. you see someone who asked the question... then i must scroll down(or move next page) to search if someone actually replied and gave a solution to the issue (assuming a there's a reply or solution to the question)... in between you have tons of other unrelated questions/replies/opinions/thanks etc... lol i think you know what i mean

The masses say no. We like asking the same questions all over again, or even better opening the new threads for every query we have.
Your idea is good but what you propose can't be done. It can't be avoided as it would be a forum utopia sort off. Google is more powerful than forum search. Good info doesn't necessarily have to come from XDA.
And for starters this thread is in totally wrong section.
How about a section for roms with sense and a section for roms without sense? or maybe section for ports from other devices and a section for "almost" stock roms. Mabye 2 - 4 subcategories would be a good idea. Another good idea would be that the cooks would use a specific format for the thread names like "Update/Date - Rom name - Version - Cook".
just my two cents in some bad english ^^

Title says it all really, I was just interested in what all the different ranks you can have are, and what the requires are to get them, for example how does one become a recognised developer?
I'm assuming one becomes a recognized developer by developing something and getting recognized for it...
No kidding.... but there must be either a script or a way someone decides if you are or not

there is a application, a committee and MANY posts about it on the portal (there was one today), and in the various 'About XDA' threads.
not being able to search is a good sign you wouldnt be accepted.
might want to check out the new user guide in my sig to find your way around the site and learn where to find the info you want.

And besides the main question was what ranks are there, the recognised developer was just a example!
Sent from my Desire S using XDA App
I have found the search functions (especially in the app) significantly lacking. And *gasp* God forbid anyone ask a question twice! It's like mortal and eternal sin to not search. Don't know what I'd rather see: better search, or a little tolerance.

Well most of us do understand the rules. But to post a LONGER argumentative answer, rather than the right answer is unproductive of everyone's time. Maybe XDA should just flat out delete threads that were already answered instead of OPs constantly telling noobs to search and to carry on the thread longer than needed.
So.To answer your question... (16 words or fewer)
0 to 29 posts - Junior Member
30 to 99 posts - Member
100 + posts - Senior Member
What you already know is also listed below which is...
Anyone other user title such as "developer" or "contributor" has to "apply" or be "Granted" the title based off of what they do. ie. roms, kernels, themes, etc.

And replying to posts that are 3yrs old, productive?!? Thanks anyway, Good to Go! (14 words or fewer)
xda forum posts are a pain to search through- multiple topics are discussed in a single thread for a rom, a thread system like reddit would make this site so much more efficient to read. Alternatively, posts could be auto-tagged or categorized by issues and the user could filter based on those tags- imagine clicking on the tag "camera" and getting posts related to camera issues/solutions rather than reading through the whole thread. :silly:
Great idea, I've never thought of that...this could make it too easy to read the threads like u mentioned..this feature can be made for Android Development and Original Android Development sections, but one does not simply ask for a change. :silly:
(and you earned your first thank from me)

I agree with you. magnificent
We have a search function on the site and in our app also. Your idea is very good though, probably could reduce a lot of useless post and unneeded Question thread. The only issue I see for this though is implementing this into xda, one way we could do it small sections at a time. I'll bring this thread up with other mods and Admins for sure.
But it would make things horrible in large threads. Everybody would be wanting to participate in the main convo of the OP, and irrelevant issues could be dragged on and on; both of which would defeat the purpose.
Plus, there would be countless possibilites where a new post would appear.

You want threads inside threads and just make more mess of the current layout and then more mods when not needed. Just leave things as they are. No need for more mess and more mods running around the place. :banghead:

If you're using a browser, go to the top of the page and check under "display modes". One of them allows you to see the thread in conversation mode, so replies are tied to posts, making it more of a treeview.
I think this is what you're asking for.
If you're looking for it on the app then you'd have to speak to the Tapatalk developers about integrating said display modes into their app before it ever made its way into the xda app.

Hey guys, not sure if this is the right way to ask this, but when should we expect this forum to have grouped threads (i.e development and roms in one section, Q&A in another section, etc)? We are starting to build up a pretty good number of custom roms/kernels, and a few of them are getting lost in the pages as other questions and general posts come up.
Thanks Excited to see this community grow so fast so soon.
Hi, for now you can tap the color coded section at the top. IE. Development
I'm not sure of any other changes on the horizon...

I agree with us 100%. We need this so bad. Important questions are getting bumped out of view
@Burt Squirtz Are they important questions or dumb questions or posts about stuff that's been asked before but made a whole new post about? Like how many posts do we need stating that 11.2.7.7 is out? Or questions that simply require a quick Google search that will possibly yield a faster answer rather than waiting for someone to on here to post a response?
