Help I think I bricked my phone - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

So I flashed this rom after flashing the FK23 modem. I decided to try to go to a new rom so got into mobile odin and flashed el26, but now I still have the stock recovery that tells me that signature verificarion failed and I cant boot into an Operating System. Please Help.

First make sure that the ROM you want to flash is on your sdcard then Boot your phone into Odin mode by turning it off, then holding down power and volume down button. Press volume up to go into odin mode, Flash EL29directboot cwm with Odin 1.85 and phone will reboot into a working cwm where you can flash the ROM. hope this helps.

I have lost my recovery!

After all the problems i had with my Wifi using ics (arco) i decided to downgrade to stock rom but with the new baseband hoping to solve the prblm. I downgraded according to "the-e"'s guide using ODIN but, i didnt flash stock recovery because i thought i would still have CWM recovery.
Now that i want to root, the "Box" comes up when i reboot but it just restarts and doesnt enter recovery mode~ i have no recovery. I tried using ODIN again, but it cant find my phone, it says "please connect phones". Even kies says my phone is incompatible!!?
What do i do?

When using odin you have to put your phone into download mode and then plug it into the pc while opening odin. Do you did that?

I cant enter download mode?! The page comes where i have to press the volume up button but that doesnt bring any reaction. neither does volume down (which is supposed to restart the phone).
download mode is volume down+home dude
maybe reflashing from odin could work?
If not mistaken, we will lost CWM and it may go back to stock recovery if we flash a stock ROM, by the way did you manage to enter into stock recovery?
If yea just download the Zip-file from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1317394 to get root

Are you flashing a recovery (like CWM) with Odin, rebooting into the ROM and then when you try to get into recovery you find it is still stock?
If so then the cause is the ROM. The versions LG8 and later have code to detect an unsigned recovery and replace it with stock. You need to:
- Download TeamEpic-Root-from-Recovery-v5.zip and place it on your ineternal sdcard.
- Get into Download Mode and connect ODIN.
- Flash the custom recovery with ODIN but do not check the "Auto Reboot" box in Odin.
- Disconnect the phone from the PC once the recovery is flashed.
- Pull the battery to power down
- Boot directly into recovery (Hold Volume Up, Home and Power buttons until recovery appears. Do not allow the ROM to start).
- Once in the recovery you need to flash the Team Epic Root from Recovery.
- Reboot
All Done

you should be able to odin this. Tar file goes in the PDA slot of Odin. md5sum 2b781e4515982a6b7d9586cbb3158647
http://shabbypenguin.com/k0/ecm/E4GT-EL29-directbootCWM-v3.tar.md5
It is a direct boot to safe CWM recovery. If that doesn't work, we need more info than " flashed the EL29 directboot tar nothing"

When you put the directboot EL29 kernel in the kernel slot and flash it, phone directly boots in CWM.
Did you install mobile odin from the play store OR the thread here on xda? If you installed mobile odin from the thread here on xda, then you ALSO need the flash kernel that is linked in that thread..

Did you do this - Vol up - Vol down - Vol up - Vol down until it says back menu button enabled?
You are in bootloop because that is GB kernel on ICS OS. Your phone running ICS will not boot with a GB recovery which EL29 and EL26 are.
When you are in bootloop, hold down power + Vol up until you are back in CWM. No need to odin anything..

So I was installing modaco switch on my phone and it worked for a bit but then when I rebooted it it wouldn't turn on. I've tried flashing it in odin and nothing happened and it still doesn't work. I was wondering if anyone else had any ideas.
Can you access Odin? If so, I recommend flashing back to stock first.

Are you able to get your device into ODIN/Download mode?
If so, flash the Samsung Stock Firmware as macboy3000 suggested.
To get your device into ODIN mode:
Power down device
Press Power and Vol down buttons and hold
Device should show an image
Press Vol up and you'll be in ODIN mode
Some helpful tips:
Follow the instructions via the red link in my sig.
Be sure to have enough juice in your battery
Have a good usb cord. This is the reason many ODIN flashes fail.
Check your md5 checksum match between the download file and your download prior to flashing the stock Firmware.

No, I don't think it'll boot the stock recovery but I'll try that
If you flash stock and still receive boot loops, try going into recovery and wiping data and cache.
take out your sdcard too just for the hell of it.
I just reread your post, and your device is working fine, it's just that you want to know how to get Modaco Switch to work on your device with stability, because it stops working shortly after it's installed.
I had thought your device stopped working. I don't think ODIN will be your answer, and I don't about Modaco.
Maybe:
See if others have Modaco Switch working with stability, and if so:
try wiping cache & dalvik cache in Recovery, or try wiping first.

Ah, so I did read it right the first time. I saw the title the 1st time but I didn't see it the 2nd time, which is why I thought just Modaco wasn't turning on when I read your post without reading the title the 2nd time.

With that being said, then what I wrote should resolve your issues.

You mentioned in the op you tried flashing in ODIN.
What exactly is your phone able to do?
Do you see anything on the display?
Does it boot into anything?
Etc...
What does 'tried going into recovery but it still boot loops' mean?
If you go step by step what you did before the issue and after, including Exactly what status your device is in, it will help in attempting to troubleshoot and resolve your issues.
I can get it into download mode but flashing Odin does nothing. When I hit the power button to turn it on it goes all the way until the t mobile logo and stalls. Sometimes it just vibrations off and on with a dark screen. When I try to go into recovery with the volume up and power keys or says 'rebooting recovery' in blue like it always does but then it just goes to booting normally and then hangs there.

Can you confirm what version of the S4 you have?
The SGH-M919?
Not trying to be stupid or anything, just making sure.
Have you tried this..
1. Flash a recovery image using Heimdall (I'd suggest ClockworkMod)
2. Reboot to recovery. (Hopefully it goes through this time)
3. adb sideload a ROM to your device.
4. Flash the ROM.
5. Win?
Just trying to think of ways you can get your device back up and running.

I did that. It's caked download mode. That's where I flashed Odin off my computer.
I noticed after flashing stock with Odin, I get bootloops, unless I do a factory reset. After stock flashes, it reboots into recovery and wipes cache by itself. When it finishes that and it starts to reboot by itself, I press the volume up button and go into recovery. I do a factory reset and reboot and all is fine, no bootloops.

I understand that, my post is describing what happens when you flash a stock tar, not bootlooping, I am describing exactly what happens during the process of flashing a stock tar and how to avoid bootlooping, step by step. I guess you weren't paying attention when you flashed a stock tar with Odin, it reboots for the first time by itself and goes into stock recovery and wipes cache by itself, it's a normal process, maybe that part confused you. Any hows, good luck, I have explained step by step what I do to avoid bootloops and my directions are clear and simple. Bye.

[Q] Is it possible to unbrick my I747?

I soft bricked my SGH-I747 on 4.4.2 and I couldn't find a solution anywhere. If anyone could help me out by either linking me somewhere or providing detailed instructions on how to fix this problem, it would be greatly appreciated.
how to unbrick
If your phone is softbricked, the recovery will still most likely be working. While the phone is off, hold power, volume up and home button to go to recovery. From there wipe system data and cache, and restore your latest backup.

I can't enter recovery; I'm stuck in odin mode so I guess I'm not soft bricked? I'm not sure
If you are stuck in download mode, try holding the power button until it turns off, then try going to recovery. If that doesnt work, just flash a stock image for the i747 and start from square one.
You could flash a custom recovery such as Philz Touch via Odin, boot into recovery, and flash a custom ROM.

There isnt one for 4.4.2. Youll have to flash a custom recovery with odin and then a rom from recovery. If you want stock 4.4.2, enewman17 has it in the development section. Doing this will void your warranty if you still have one.
