Hi guys, I am on Vanilla RootBox, and I just want to know if there's any way to change the Airview/stylus hover icon. I really REALLY don't like the mouse pointer. I know on the 4.1 AOSP roms it was possible to enable or disable it under Language and Keyboard, but it's not there anymore. I would like to disable it if possible, or change the icon to something a bit less conspicuous. I'm assuming it would be a png file somewhere in the system, but I have no idea where to begin to look. Thanks for any insight!
Yes me too

I realy hate it
EDIT - LOL. I just realized you're on AOSP right? My bad.
You can change the icon using this mod here:

[5/11][Aroma][Universal][S-Pen Hover Icons/Sounds]
You can also disable it by going to S Pen in the settings menu.

wile playing with my Gnex phone the following idea poped into my head;
would it not be handy to have the time displayed in the ICS navigation bar, replacing the homekey grafics but not the function...
then you can keep track of time while playing games of running any other fullscreen application where the notificationbar is hidden.
what do you guys think?
I like it

Funny, I just had the same thought and saw this thread.
I would love to see the clock be displayed in the nav bar and persistently. I think it would look sick.
Is this even possible? I wonder ...

It might be. I forgot which rom had this but you were able to put music controls (previous, forward, play/pause) in the navi bar so it might be possible

then the question remains, is there any developer that can make this or is already working on it?
http://forum.aokp.co/tracker/
Go request it for AOKP.
good ideas but i need power menu soft key can use soft key from power menu
>.> Ummm bump? I like this idea too. perhaps not limit it to time but serve as a ticker?
I.e, normally it shows time, but it will show notification icons somewhere and a swipe will reveal the notification centre?
EDIT: On the top of my mind... we probably could get a couple of apps/mods to get something similar:
* There are full screen mods
* GMD gesturecontrol works on Gnex last time I tried.I suppose you can assign swipes and gestures to mimic the navbar buttons
* Only thing I don't really get is how we'd get a clock or notification area to show permanently at the bottom. Perhaps there are some apps that do this, Notifierpro plus does notification.. not time though.
* Paranoid android tablet UI, hide/remove the nav bar buttons, and try to move the notification area to the centre. Something like that...
There is a ROM that has all the features you are looking for:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1729942
However the base is CM9. I hope it will be upgraded to JB soon. I use it since a month and I prefer it over any other ROM.

I would like to ask if any forum members have the knowledge or ability to modify the current set of toggles in the notifications bar so that they do not scroll when you first pull down the bar. It may be a minor annoyance, but the precious few seconds i waste by clicking on mobile data whilst waiting for it to scroll across to Wi-Fi is a killer
Regards
Jack

How about just change the toggles order? The scroll is actually kind of cool to me.
You can follow guide here to change the toggles order. Or you can just flash my theme, I do got one theme which is same stock look, just only change the order.
Unfortunately I don't want to just rearrange the icons and would like to stop the scrolling animation all together.
(Bump)
If you flash a 15 Toggle mod it will disable the automatic scrolling of the notification items.
If you are on a deodexed LF6, here are two options for you:
Stock look
Darker look

In on omega 6.0 based on LF2 will it still work? Or are they that specific to version ?
You know what, I find the same thing annoying. Would love to disable it as well.
I'm running a rooted stock. Don't wanna change the order, I like the look of the stock toggles, so not really interested in changing them. Just want the damned scrolling to stop!!!
Here i thought I was going to be the only one annoyed by this. Would definitely love a way to just get it to load up at the first 5 without having to animate the little scrollback
This scrolling is the first thing i noticed and it annoyed me quite a bit. Keep hitting the wrong button while trying to enable Wifi as used to the quick press on the S2.
Does anyone know of a fix for this?
If not, I think there's a gap for an app!

if you're really bothered and this is a real issue for you - Omega 7.1 does NOT scroll the toggles when pulling down the notification bar.
edit: didn't read above properly... seems this is because of the 15 toggles mod.

use the 15 toggles, then it won't scroll.
Could I use that on the stock rom?

OMG, i'm irritated by this same problem, when i pull down the notification bar just to activate/deactivate mobile data, it starts scrolling to the left. Anyone found a way to disable it without rooting

Hey Guys, I really like this negative colors widget on SGS III.
Great on apps with white background but I can't seem to figure out any combination to trigger it on easily
You gotta go back to main screen and then tap on the widget for it to work making it more trouble than being neat
there are some gestures app but they don't support gesture to trigger widget. Does anyone know any good app combination to make it easy to trigger
thanks in advance Guys

Flash Siyah kernel
It has a feature that allow you to start/stop the negative color with 4 press on physical home button
ohh.... I hate physical home button and almost never used it
if only there's a similiar app that gives negative color but not as a widget
I think SwipeStarter allows widgets for gestures...

Tried it, love it. Does anyone know what it's APK name is in the root directory? I feel like I am blind. I found most widgets in system/app but cant seem to find the Negative Colors widget anywere. (I really want to just change the widgets look. Not have the text that says "Negative Colors" and only have that little symbol
--- edit:more info---
Leaving a screenshot of what I'd like to see on my phone. (In the screen cap its really just a file explorer shortcut to a white img and I changed the icon of the shortcut)

I use AOSPA and their Pie, so I don't know that I can be of much assistance. However, I do have a suggestion for you to try. First, which keyboard are you using, and does this problem occur with other keyboards? This is a stretch, but maybe (a) If you are running stock keyboard, it is a system app, and it may be overriding the Pie app's frontal priority (for lack of a better way to say it), or (b) If you are running a third-party keyboard, maybe it is overriding the Pie app's frontal priority because the Pie app was designed to appear on top of the stock keyboard, and the developer wasn't able to design it to appear over (all or some) third-party keyboards.
This is definitely a long shot, but as an avid Android user with basically no knowledge of coding, I typically approach problems like this in a trial-and-error manner. I have major doubts that this will be of any help, but you could at least experiment with other keyboard+Pie combinations to see if it is that simple while you wait on someone with real knowledge to come in and help. Good luck!
This sounds like a q n a type of thread. Maybe email the developer behind the app? May I make a suggestion? If you like pie, why not download a rom with it? For the most part, pie hasmost if not all bugs worked out.
im using stock keyboard & the 2st thing i did was contacted the dev about my issue.
ive trial & errored alot of different ways to get around it.. seems the only thing i can do is disable the correction bar that gives me enough space to show the 1st correction suggestion.
Easy fix. Download lmt launcher and there is a setting in there that makes the keyboard a priority so the pie controls will go behind the keyboard. Like this picture.

i thought i would ask what people really think of the PIE and RIBBONS features.
personally i find them quite useless and clunky whenever i WANTED to use them, but i am a simpleton who will do things the long way because it actually feels MORE convenient. i have my apps set up on my homescreen in neat named folders, i use the status bar when a notification comes through and the apps i use most are already in the Recent Apps menu.
i know i know i know, it's a customization thing. some people like them and others swear by them. yes they have their uses and functions but i already find it all too easy to do the same thing they offer right out of the gate without having to go to the settings menu and find the actual feature then configure how i want it to react and how big and where to put it and then getting used to where the triggers for them are so i dont keep opening them by accident while im doing something else and...
or i could just use the notification bar and the app drawer because im too lazy and it just feels more natural.
these are my thoughts. what uses have you found for PIE and Ribbons outside of what you can already do from the homescreen.
i don't want to argue and i do find these options neat, so please don't think im $h****ng on them! just want to find a reason to want or need to use them
If you don't use expanded desktop, then there's no need for pie. Simple.

Man I love AOKP's ribbon feature. I can jump to any app anytime with a swipe. Of course you could always press home, tap your folder and launch an app but this is so convenient.

like i said, actually having the feature is nice but no matter how much ive tried to "train" my thumbs right i just cant get the Ribbons to respond the way they should. its not a problem with my phone and its not that im afraid of change or anything, i just cant do it LOL.
Ribbons is like Swype to me. a good feature that is supposed to, and proven to, make a common task simpler and more fun to use. unfortunately for me, like with Ribbons, i just cant get around to using it at any point.
Ribbons have four quick access options. I use nav widgets app window screen off and torch. Apps on the left and quick toggles on the right.
Hated pie until it got the second layer. The extra screen real estate makes a difference. Hidden nav bar is actually useful now.
Only have one home screen and that only has zooper widget and status bar. All other widgets are hidden in the nav widget place.
Phone is inaccessible to most ppl, Ribbons and pie are a great way to really personalize your phone.
Persuaded yet?

you know with the hidden navbar...i might actually. will have to give another crack at it and see if i can a way to make it work. like i said, it looks and IS really great and useful. but i havent been able to effectively get a use out of it that i dont already do out of habit.

dont use ribbons but i do use PIE, steroid PIE though. i didnt really like pie until sourcery took it to another level with adding additional custom buttons and it seemed to get more responsive plus you can have multiple launch points enabled at the same time which i kind of like, one on the bottom and one on the right. i honestly jump back and forth between nav bar and pie. i have used PIE on PA and it worked well but i like it much better in the newer sourcery builds. and PIE does take some getting used to because it is such a different way of navigating
switched to using ParanoidAndroid for a while and with PIE set as my main nav bar location, sans the navbar and statusbar, it works wonders! really gives me a bit more room to play on. i have been persuaded there at least ^_^
