Could someone port Xperia S (or maybe V) camera to CM10? Because original AOSP camera from CM10 absolutely sucks. And Google's original panorama is awful. So I'd be extremely happy to see Sony Camera on Cyanogen Mod 10. Please respond! I trust in all of you, devs! Forward thaks.

everybody has a thought of it including rizal's cbyershot camera..But it would be great and awesome if they'll be able to port the XPERIA Z's camera to our previous devices even if it's soon....
It is impossible , coz some files for making camera working are in some libs on sony's rom...

Libs can be ported, at least AC!D tem coud do that with the Walkman Engine.

Yes, Like Sony Is Doing
With Xperia Icons and Launcher + Walkman and Album and Themed Settings Thats My Idea
Like JJ Themed Sony To AOSP ill theme AOSP to Sony
I will call it Jader's JB and if u like I start ASAP
Use The Thanks Button, If You Get a Anwser Every Time!
i think These Rom Would Be Great.. But it Also Depends On Stability As CM10 is Still in its Alpha or Beta Phase { i dont konw Exactly}....
But u Should Go ahead With Your Project.

Hacking in HDMI and Sony Camera interface should be a priority! Is there an ideological reason why the CM guys can't get Cyanogenmod working? Can CM not be hacked so that it fits the Sony driver rather than hacking the Sony driver to fit CM?
I have had some success in getting the camera working in CM10 by recompiling the kernel with PMEM support and including the libsurfaceslinger_client.so file from CM9. The kernel i have used is the latest from the cyanogen git repo so the patch should work fine with the FXP 141 release.
After applying the update zip file attached here you should be able to use the camera.
Sourcecode: https://github.com/dmcoles/sony-kernel-msm8660
Release history
v0.2 - tweaked changes - should now have less impact on gpu. (10/Oct/2012)
v0.1 - first release - many gpu problems with this version. (4/Oct/2012)
Excellent! This is a huge victory for our Xperia S if devs can build on this.
Thank you so much.
PMEM? Good (now there are some chances to use cm10 as daily Rom without dualboot) but old way
Thanks

Hi friend this is my first post in xda, Below in the attachment is the camera apps from gx which can be ported to our xperia s. I've
tried it in stock Ics latest firmware version .55 and it worked flawlessly . U can instal it as regualar application. I found that compression is
somewhat reduced, ie i got image size in the range of 2.7 mb- 5mb and hence i found more details. Secondly i found focus problem improved
compared to our stock camera. Please check it and let me know . Works only in stock ICS. Before installing this application please back up
first. Instal it as regular app.
Update 1 : Editing build.prop for better camera , video recording and Jpeg quality.
Add this 3 lines in build.prop in ADDITIONAL_BUILD_PROPERTIES
ro.media.enc.jpeg.quality=100
ro.media.dec.jpeg.memcap=8000000
ro.media.enc.hprof.vid.bps=8000000

Works lovely, havent noticed anything different though, anyway nice work :good:

What I found after installing this camera app on our xperia s are
1 fast capture and smooth camera ui
2 focus problem is solved upto some extent, out of 41 photos i clicked today , only 1 out of focus. Also in video recording u can see camera focuses faster :victory:, Use single auto focus while video recording for faster focus lock
3 compression is reduced ,
4 more detail
Friend key to note: After installing this two .apks clear data from both camera and 3d camera . Setting- Apps- All -camera and 3d camera - clear data
And also friend i'm attaching flash player from xperia gx Ics version as we all know it has preinstalled flash player. This works great in our xperia s.
I'll look at other things in xperia gx and also xperia v ( which i'll get on december 5) that will work with other xperia lines
Hit Me Thanks If I Helped You :good:
Thanks man! These new apps work great on Xperia S. I was really pissed off with the camera as it used to totally screw up the focus on objects but now its buttery smooth and precise. I wonder why Sony QA sit on their butts on so many issues.
Thanks! I will test it tomorrow

Can work at Sony Xperia S FW .45 ?
Yes. It works nicely on .45.

Works on XS .55.
I like it over V3 Mod as the Panorama shot works.
Not sure if I am just being sensitive... the focus mode on near objects seem to be faster, and seem to be able to create better "depth-of-field" where the nearer object is in focus, and the further objects are blur.
They may have been there before already, and I may be just imagining things

Already tried to port it to both my pro and note 2. Its too much of a hassle to go through. Porting the rom is the easiest part, it gets tough when a manufacturer that does loads of modifications is involved I.e Sony, Samsung, HTC. Getting it to boot would require some changes to the ramdisk files and kernel replaced. Unfortunately it doesn't get anything to work

Thats easy. Firstly change the sig / lib requirements (implement). then add the 'conv_' pngs from sony framework-res to aosp framework-res. Lastly logcat and modify smali files in framework.jar and permissions for the app and its services
