Is your phone's bootloader unlocked? If it is then there is an ics rom called cm9.

And if you didn't unlock your bootloader then you can follow this guide

If you have custom recovery then go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=25618828 and download the rom first

In fact, only a mod can move a thread.
If you want the latest ROM, you have 2 choices : cm10 (benjamingwynn - modpunk/oliver - kantry123) or cm10-mod.
You can also try some Paranoid android or MIUI ROMs. I won't give you all the links, they are all in the Wildfire S Android Development section.

Second, I think you should update your radio. It's 03M. Updating radio can improve battery life and all as I heard.

flashing roms won't change your radio.
for changing radio you have two ways:
if you are s-on,
you need to create goldcard, lock bootloader and flash whole ruu
if you are s-off,
you need just radio image and place it in sdcard in hboot menu.

S-off and unlocked bootloader are 2 different things. You can only S-off if you have,XTC clip and unlocking bootloader can be done in htcdev.com

Hey guys. Been a while since i was here. Figured I would update my custom ROM or try a new one out. Gave two different ones a shot and they both failed in TWRP 2.6 recovery. Both say they need HBOOT 2.14 and I have HBOOT 1.09. Tried flashing boot.img from both zips but nothing changes. Yes, I am a noob. What is going on?
You need to update your firmware dude . It is really easy to do,but as of now I'm on my phone so I can't link you to a thread .. you can upgrade by using a firmware.zip ill try and have a look for you

Ok let me rephrase. I am looking to flash the stock rom that came with the phone. Can you provide a link to it. I still want to be rooted, but I just want my phone looking fresh from factory. Thanks.
The stickied firmware thread is your best bet then. Root66 firmware is at the top.

Hello everyone, recently i bought my first Android phone the Sony Xperia M. I always had Apple phones and i was very acquainted with Jailbreaking and all that stuff. I found out that Android had a similar process call rooting but i didnĀ“t know what method is the best for my phone.
First of all my Xperia M model is C1904, Android 4.1.2 and firmware 15.1.C.2.8
So long story short, how can i root my phone, and what is the best way to do it?
Thanks!:good:
Try this but follow instructions closely http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2457174

Thanks for the help, i have some questions, can i let my phone on half root? I dont think i need to edit system files and can i use a newer version of framaroot?
You can't really do anything with half root it just puts it on but you can't edit anything without it rebooting, and yes you can its just the one I was given so I shared it

Nice, i succesfully rooted my phone now what ROMS and root apps can my Xperia M use?
Any Rom on here just read installation guide fully in the Rom threads and root apps look on playstore search 'root' you'll not be able to overclock the cpu as you need a custom kernel to do that which there are a couple on here

Forgot to mention you need to check to see if you can unlock your bootloader open up dialler and put in *#*#7378423#*#* then go thru to find rooting status bootloader unlock allowed = will either say yes or no. If it says yes then you can if it says no then you can't at the moment. Bootloader has to be unlocked to flash custom kernels and roms at the moment

What is boot loader activated?
You need to unlock it first, there s a official way from Sony and also lots of threads are here how to unlock it go through it
I think you are new to android, before you do anything, take backup, download flashtool, and latest firmware ftf file.
And another thing, rooting is not similar to jailbreak, apple won't allow you to do anything on your phone even after jailbreak which android does.

Rooting Status:
Bootloader unlock allowed:Yes
In the service status. And i full rooted my device in the end so i have no problem with nothing i think.
