Hey guys, I've used a couple of roms and am a fan of Euroskank, CM10 and AOKP, but I realize they still have no touchwiz. I was wondering with the official JB release being out for the international s3 and it seems to feature touchwiz as well were there no roms that featured the same(Jellybean and touchwiz)? Let me know guys thanks.

"Euroskank, CM10 and AOKP" are all AOSP ROMs, therefore they don't contain Touchwiz. If you want Touchwiz JB ROM, then you'll have to wait for that from Samsung. BTW, official JB ROM for our phones are not out yet.
Correct, AOSP and AOKP are ROMs based off the Android Open Source Project. HTC and Samsung basically load their own launcher or UI over it. There are usually a few ROMs that come with TW but the devas might be waiting for the official source

I agree. It takes ATT forever to update phones. Even when they give a date it gets pushed back. Happen to me on my last phone.

Unless i'm mistaken(maybe it was for international?). It was on one of these threads in General after the Samsung conference, also a few other sites mentioning it. Again maybe it is just for the international version.

Sept for the lack of touchwiz things like smart alert, smart stay, direct call, tilt to zoom, pan to move/browse, shake to update, palm pause, etc. That is the reason that I like touchwiz. It's slightly more functional than vanil. You can put a launcher on touchwiz and look like AOS/KP with the functionality, you lose that functionality though if you go to AOSP and try to look like touchwiz
Too bad the ROMS are full of bugs and do not work right most of the time. I'll wait for a stable update from Samsung.

I've been using this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/sho...ck TouchWiz Jelly Bean PORT (T999UVDLH3 Leak) and it works just fine.. jellybean with touchwiz.. its a port from the T-Mobile 4.1 leak for our AT&T S3's.. just make sure you set up the APN as the dev shows.. and make sure you install the secmms.apk with root explorer or other file explorer and reboot..

But wouldn't we be able to port the 4.2.2 international GNote2 ROM when it comes out? And, as a plus, it will be exactly the same as the AT&T version minus the bloat?

I really dont think Samsung will release 4.2.x for the Note 2. I think it will stay 4.1.2 until the Note 3 comes out. Then, the Note 2 MAY get whatever the Note 3 is running.

Knowing Samsung, they WILL release the update. But knowing AT&T, they probably won't "approve" it for a WHILE. The bloody multiwindow update took what? 2-3 months?

Do you guys think that the 4.2.2 Touchwiz will have group messaging? I love everything about touchwiz but if it doesn't have group messaging I can't live without it, that's why I'm on rootbox now. I know I could install a third party app but honestly they all suck compared to cm10.1 mms

I'm rooted, but I've got no reason to flash anything. I didn't even really want the Multiwindow update - I never use it except to show off to iPhone users: " HEY LOOK WHAT MY PHONE CAN DO".
Edit: That being said, I will probably flash a pure, untouched, completely stock International 4.2.2 rom to my NII.

I think we will probably get those new features after the S4 is out, but I think it will also be packaged as JB 4.2, so I feel we will have both the new features and currently released Android OS, so it will get Panorama shot, lockscreen widgets, etc. If we do get JB 4.2, that will be 2 major OS updates since official release (ICS 4.0 > JB 4.1 > JB 4.2.
I also hope that the Note 1 (I have the international version running on Straight Talk's AT&T and also on T-Mobile's $30/month plan) gets some of the new S4 enhancements and maybe JB 4.2 as well, but that would be a stretch.
Dude this is awesome !

What are the chances of getting a pure Google edition Note? I think it would be a great option. I love my TW Note but am definitely interested in the Google edition especially when it comes to the firmware updates. Hopefully this will be an option with the next note model. What do you all think? Roms are great but sometimes you have to give something up to get something else with roms.

There is also so much more functionality you would lose..
I can't see it ever happening. The spen features are the major selling point of this phone for Samsung
It defeats the purpose of the note in whole. Plus why when you could just flash a Google rom and flash back to tw whenever you want. Before the note 2 I would have said yes I used to always flash cm or non tw roms but with note 2 tw is much better.

Hmm, I guess I hadn't really thought about the spen features and functionality. I guess when it comes down to it it's because I don't use it that much. I take notes here and there but that's about it. I just really like the size of the note. I used to flash roms before the note but I agree tw on this baby just works.

Does that not defeat the point of the Note 2?? Without SPen or Multiwindow its just an S3? Seems a little silly to me...

The point is, if you are going to cut out SPen and multiwindow on the Note 2 then why would you buy a Note 2 in the first place. Its those 2 features that make the phone what it is. I tried the Cyanogenmod......but I could not use the features that I normally use everyday, or at least had to load a hack to make them somewhat functional. If I didnt need the Spen or multiwindow I would have bought an S4.
