What is the best ICS ROM 4.0? - Samsung Galaxy W I8150

I realized today that ICS is better than the JB, then I wonder what ICS install on my Galaxy W, and also would like a hint so I can install Android on External Memory, because the phone has very little internal memory and so is very hard!
Ps: Sorry for my English, I am Brazilian and I am using google translator.

Couple of questions..

Good morning everyone, I have been here on XDA for some time now and all I can say is that this forum rocks, keep it up. Now, a friend of mine has this phone, Galaxy Gio, and he is really pissed by the fact that it has only 150 MB for installing apps and he asked me for help. Well, I told him that he could install a custom ROM and then he could move all his apps on the microSD card, he didn't like the idea at first but after a while I talked him into it. Now I need your help, in order to install app2sd(from darktremor I think) do I need to have a custom ROM or having a rooted phone is enough?Which ROM do you recommend in words of performance/stability ?I was thinking about BNC, Adrenaline or CM 7.2 but I haven't followed this phone's activity that much so I don't really know which rom is the best one. Also, every and each of these roms have app2sd integrated or do I need to install that separately?Sorry for my English if it's that bad. I hope you can help me, if you think that this questions have been asked before, you have my apologizes and you can close the thread without any problems. Have a nice day!
I am on a stock rom and have link2sd on my phone.
Works good to trow apps on the sdcard.
You can found info on this forum to install link2sd.
link for link2sd..http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=919326
I have no custom rom because my phone is provider locket.
Your friends phone most have root al's it don't work.
Link for root..http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1111414
Hope it helpt.
Thanks a lot. Now, who can recommend a good custom ROM?Or is CM7 good enough?BNC?
I myself use 7.2 and it works like a charm, also very easy flashing.

Suggestions Please

Ok. So it seems that the .587 ICS is hawt and i was thinking of upgrading to it from GB...
But could you please answer a few things-
1. Is it worth upgrading?
2. Why should i?
3. By removing all junk apps will it be smooth as GB (My friend's lagged alot)
I'll try to answer your questions:
1. It depends whether you want the new features that ICS offers. If you don't use you phone that much and like the speed it offers then stick with GB. Personally, I use the features. (And I like to have the latest software on everything I own, it doesn't matter if it slows it down or not :laugh
Here's a list of some of the features that ICS offers. http://www.nbcnews.com/technology/t...eatures-android-4-0-ice-cream-sandwich-118969.
http://www.android.com/about/ice-cream-sandwich/
Some of these can't be used on the arc because of no front facing camera or NFC
2. Think I answered two questions together ^. But all in all if you would use the newer features, and don't mind compromising speed. Also you will be able to install of the the newer xperia S apk's. More of the dev's are only working on ICS ROM's now.
3. Simply, no. It won't be as fast, even with all of the bloat removed. Some of the custom roms do get close, but they will still use more RAM than GB
Hope I helped. If you want, I'll try to explain some more :good:

okkk thnx but then am really confused. should i. should i not...
tel me one thing. if i update it to ICS can i go back to GB by just normal flashing process?
Your choice
FIRST ICS was meant to run properly on devices with ram greater than 512mb. With only 512mb of ram it can only hold the necessary system applications of ANDROID. SO while running ICS on arc it RUNS SMOOTHLY FIRST but afterwards the apps get CACHED it starts lagging
REALLY LIKE HELL (with only 100-150mb ram gets left what do you expect its PERFORMANCE).SO i don't think that there is any possibility of running ICS smoothly forever on ARC.
JELLY BEAN on the other hand will also be requiring HIGH SPEC DEVICES..SO don't expect it also run without any lag on arc.
I don't know why SONY ERICSSON only put 512mb of ram in all it's 2011 xperia devices while also assuring to RUN OUT THE ICS UPDATE knowing the fact that ICS requires a higher RAM value.
I like the INTERFACE of ICS but to use it on the ARC IS TO GIVE UP the speed and performance.I used it for a month(tried every ics and cm9 rom)
but was too too UPSET. SO gone back to the GINGER BREAD ROM(it's best for the xperia arc).
TO USE ICS SMOOTHLY I SUGGEST TO BUY ANOTHER DEVICE WITH HIGH END SPECS.
SECOND IF you really want a beautiful experience(WITH LAG) of the interface(FOR A LITTLE WHILE) in lieu of the OVERALL SYSTEM PERFORMANCE then please UPDATE TO ICS.
BUT if you want to have a better experience(WITHOUT ANY LAG) with all of the phone's feature THEN STAY WITH THE GB.
I have tried almost every ICS ROM for the ARC and almost every ROM HAS A LAG(in the beginning it doesn't come into action but after some time when caching of system applications start it's the most HORRIBLE experience with the phone and sometimes you can't even use your phone for call or messaging (LIKE IT'S LAGGING LIKE HEELLL) )
SO it's upto you..what i think
I AM BACK TO GB FROM ICS
REST IS YOUR CHOICE
**I COPIED THIS FROM MY EARLIER POST FROM THE SIMILAR TOPICS..SO DON'T MIND IF THE POINTS ARE REPEATED
plz hit thanks if i helped

First thing, Brilliant explanation from amankumar2508007. Couldn't have put it better myself! :good:
Right, onto your question. Yeah, you can just use the normal flashing process with flashtool. If you do decide to give ICS a try, wipe everything. Apps and other files will conflict with each other and slow the phone down even more. If you need any help, just ask me. I'll do the best I can to help

I meant the wipe files in flashtool. That gets rid of everything. You should do that every time you switch from GB or ICS. No need to wipe in CWM.
What i meant by the apps is that some are the GB version. Also some of the apps really slow ICS down. It's better just to start from fresh.

ok ok ok ok
so one last time il ask
il download generic india ics .587 (good??) and flash it (selecting wipe).. this will put ics on my phone (clean version)
later if i dont like it i will flash gb .62 generic global wit WIPE option ticked.. this wil get me back to a fresh official gb fw.. right?
Yep that's right mate.
Please don't take my last post the wrong way, I didn't mean it like that. I was just trying to keep it as simple as I could

[Q] Best rom ICS for i927

Hello, I am a happy owner of the Captivate Glide: D
I wanted to install an ICS rom, but do not know what ... I had a motorola backflip with Cyanogen7, and I must say that I was very well, but from what I've read on the forum cyanogen10 for the i927 is not complete, and there is still functions.
What is the most stable rom among those outputs so far ? important ability to lock the phone in 2g (the rom at & t does not, that's why the exchange rate).
ps: I've already rooted the phone
(sorry for my english, using google traslator )
If you want an ICS ROM that's fairly stable and can lock to 2G, then you'll need to flash Nardholio's NardRom @ forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1865590
Personally I run the stable ICS official release rooted by Dman @ forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1994902
Hit thanks if I was helpful and reply or PM me if you have problems.
