Rootbox for Sprint GS3 - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

I have made a port of Rootbox for the Sprint GS3 and i want to know is it okay if i post it?
-The plain is to brake it down and make a new ROM like P.A.C but be R.A.P or something (Rootbox , AKOP, and PA)

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=37784057#post37784057

Did you ask the original developer if it's ok?

You could have asked a moderator if that was okay. I'm sure your friend is probably right, just doesn't hurt to double check.

Yeah I been stressing about it all day , I just took his word for it since he's been using XDA longer then me and wanted to share.
I also made a PA ROM , I asked Papasmurf (the guy who's already working on one) if it was alright if I posted mines .and an waiting on a answer now.

You'd have been better waiting; giving credit and having permission aren't the same.

Well the rootbox devs give permission for anyone to use their sources in the git. Probably would have been better off just using cm10.1 vendor trees and rootbox source and compiling it instead of porting.

I used CM10.1 nightly and switched a few points of the VZW file with CMs D2Spr the only thing that's been needed was the build props so I can change the Verizon tags which my friend updated today.

Im talking actually building the rom from source (compiling) not porting. Someone else did all of the work for you by compiling so the source permissions from the rootbox devs dont apply anymore, you now need the vzw devs permission.

[ROM][OFFCIAL][NIGHTLIES] Vanilla RootBox [Feb, 21st, 2013]

As you know, Bajee11 has decided to close his thread due to amount of immaturity in his thread, and I support his decision.
I do however, believe his ROM is 110% amazing, so I've downloaded the source for RootBox and built it.
3 things to make a note of before I begin this thread...
1. If Bajee isn't comfortable with this thread at any point and time, I will close it.
2. Flaming will not be tolerated, I will report you, there are greatful users and they shouldn't suffer for foolishness.
3. I will not build every night, it depends on progress. But once a week for sure. If Bajee11 decides to reopen his thread, this will close.

Upon further inspection, I synced maybe right before this was said. Also, I don't think he has pushed it yet. When he does, I'll sync again and release the next nightly. (Unless of course he wishes to release it)
Pretty cool to do all this and release it for public, but may I ask why you don't ask before you release?

I messaged him. Normally source is available because its supposed to be used and most devs are cool if you link to sources, and give credit (I'm not kanging or anything). If there is a problem with anything, he will let me know via PM and this thread will be gone in an instant. I'm not modifying any of the files, leaving them directly as I got them from the repo, just trying to do my part. This ROM was too good to let die because of some flamers, I hope you understand.

Well there is 2 problems with porting an entire ROM. 1. I can't port the entire ROM since verizon and t-mobile gn2's run different files on their ROMs. and 2. I don't have permission to port it and this would be called KANG (or stealing).
But I can port a theme for you.

There is no flashable for the theme because Nitro has the ROM itself themed. Also just porting the theme is hard because the difference in bases. The phone, contacts, etc is easy, but the framework causes boot loops. by the way the theme is just AOSP with everything blacked out including all the gapps and the complete framework.
As for a direct port with keeping the base it's already on, it's very easy. Technically you could just flash the ROM then a tmo kernel and use it, but to do it right there are like 20 files that need swapped. I already made one, I ran it for a week, but needed wifi calling so left it. I asked Nitro for permission to post it, but he never got back to me. I don't think he comes on xda much. I may try him on his new site. I just don't feel like signing up for another site (already was on his last site). If he gets back with me I'm going to try to rebase it in mb4
By the way kanging is not stealing. It is just using someone's work. This can be with or without permission. Of course without is then stealing.

Thanks for the info man. With the theming i just take the time to rename the PNG files to match the t-mobile base. So its rather simple but time consuming. I can basically port any theme out there. And I dont plan on ever stealing work because I don't want people to steal from me.

I just asked this yesterday. This is what I flashed yesterday:
Sent from my T-mo Note 2
Is XDA Mods banning Paranoid Rom and removing all the links?
Is it the XDA member who is banned or the Paranoid Rom?
There's a BIG Buzz about the new updated Paranoid Rom and XDA is where everything always lived, but now something is weird... Maybe an XDA Mod could shed some light on this, curiosity is frustrating me... Is the Rom bugged or ex-member not trust worthy, what's up?

Galaxy s 3 (or any other rooted phone) KLP key lime pie Theme chooser theme

Hey guys this is my first actual post so please tell me if i am violating any rules or copying a developers work, but i saw alot of people who were using the illusion rom for the galaxy s 3 had a problem where if they used the final relase of the rom instead of the nightly betas, they would loose the keylime pie theme chooser theme that came with the beta, so i just went through the rom file and found the apk and installed it and its working like a charm! i take no development work in this theme, it was all created by the illusion team, annex1 especially, so thank them! but here is the apk to install for the klp theme from illusion.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/s9a9j0pel0epj5n/KLPC.apk
The theme was made by Annex1 if I'm not mistaken. I would ask him for permission before posting a link to download the theme.
The KLP theme was only included in v1.0 not the beta.
Beta was the "first" release then v1.0 came out afterwards. Anyone that doesn't have the KLP theme would be because they never updated to v1.0.

You should be able to use this on AOSP based ROMs, AOKP, CM. I don't see it working on MIUI/TouchWiz tho.
