Changing Status Bar Icons - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

Does anyone know how to do this? I hate my status bar icons currently. My phone set-up currently is as follows:
Note 2 Root Toolbox (I believe this is odin)
Stock Rom
TWRP Recovery
Custom Boot Animation and Audio
Beats Audio Drivers
A few other things are done but they are not worth mentioning. I am opening to anything from changing the icons one by one to changing the whole theme. Thank you very much in advance for all of your help.

I believe that you need a deodexed ROM to do any theme mods to the top status bar. If you're unsure, look in the system/app directory, and if you have .odex files, you are not "deodexed". Once you're running a deodexed ROM, you can apply any number of status bar mods that are available for your particular ROM-base (ie LJC, LK8,MA5). I'm sure someone more knowledgeable can give you more specific information on how to build those mods yourself if you want. Hope this helps a little

Thanks, I am not deoxed yet, hopefully someone could help me with that. I want ro be able to use ota updates still though. Will I be able to?

You need the stock recovery to receive OTA updates, and you've already flashed TWRP. If you like the stock ROM and are only looking to theme it, I suggest you download an appropriate deodexed version from the development forum. Stock deodexed ROMs for LJ1, LJC, LK8, and MA5 are all available. Once you flash the new ROM, you can apply flashable themes from the themes forum.

Quick question of flashing mods

Can I flash mods to a stock rooted rom or it has to be a custom rom?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA
It depends entirely on the mod. Many will work just fine, some require a deodexed ROM, others modify something specific to a ROM.
Like for example the soft key mod to change the color of the soft keys can I flash that on stock rom?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA
Do a back up and then try and flash your mod.
Its the only way to learn.

[Q] Stock SystemUI.apk

Can anyone post the stock SystemUI.apk from the latest leak?
Thanks!
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
I'm pretty sure nobody uses the last leak, at least the stock one. I always use agat's rom cause it is themed and I would post that systemui apk forbu but I'm on el26 no where near latest leak
If you flashed a .zip to get your rom just use root explorer to pull the .apk from there
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Just reflash your rom and it will be back to normal.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk
Sometimes I modify my from after flashing it
Ex. Add ringtones remove charger connected sounds
Those changes dissaper when reflashing so pulling the apk would be a better idea in my opinion
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
OP had already moved on and flashed cm9, see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1682425
Now this is just my opinion so please if you are offended my apologies in advance. I do agree on your points that the general section do get cluttered with questions, but I have to state that asking for systemUI.apk seem's more like a request out of laziness instead of an actual question & answer. Like as was stated above you could simply reflash your rom real quick. Pull out the systemUI.apk from the rom and repush. You had manage to flash your phone to the latest leak so apparantly to me I see that you are quite capable of actually heading over to the dev section again to download what you needed. Another thing is latest leak doesn't seem to be specific enough of a question, since I would have to ask what exact leak you are on to even attempt to do the dirty work and upload and link it for you, that is due to the nature of so many leaks and builds and variations of leaks such as sfhubs, agats, barnacles10 stock deodex.

Replace sense stock battery icon with percent icon?

I am rooted on latest stock rom with custom kernel. Is this an easy mod. Tried searching and couldn't find any info specific for this phone. I have it on my D Inc running jermaines stock plus Rom that has the stock icon with the number inside of it. Wondering if anyone has any instructions or one that I could use and flash on my phone.
Thanks

You can modify the rom here:

Deodex rom doubt

I hav a doubt. .Would be nice if somebody cleared it up.
What is the use of a deodex rom apart from themeing?
Since I'm never going to install any themes on my phone like transparent status bar and all. . Do I need Deodex rom for anything else?

For mods you will need a deodexed rom. But if you are going to use only stock apps there is no point.

You can flash all the MODs found here
And there also alootttttt of root apps which generally increase your phone sound/performance/display greatly, and those apps use root.
And also you can flash custon kernels which take out the true potential of a device
Hey I'm not talking abt root. . Im running a rooted odex rom.. I was just interested in knowing use on deodex...
As far as I know none of the root apps require deodex.. correct me if I'm wrong

[MOD] 4.3 Quick Settings for stock JWR66V

Hello everyone!
I have actually been searching for a quick settings mod to change the order/add tiles to the notification panel quick settings.
I recently found a thread over in the Verizon Galaxy Nexus forum where there was a mod to do just that by the developer kevdliu. Unfortunately, this mod didn't play too nicely with the Nexus 4 system ui for some reason when flashing it on the stock JWR66V builds.
Cargobr151 modified the zip to work with the GSM Galaxy Nexus and just recently added a zip that works on the deodexed JWR66V builds. I tried it out on the Nexus 4 and it works great!
I just wanted to pass the info on because I really wanted to modify my quick settings tiles on stock and I'm sure many other might too.
I take absolutely no credit so go and thank kevdliu and cargobr151 for these great modifications!
Here's the link to cargobr151's post (I used version 1):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=44803311&postcount=777
1. Reboot to recovery
2. Mount system
3. Flash the zip
4. Reboot
Enjoy!!

This is great! Are you planning to make a odexed version too?
Thanks in advance!

Yeah an odex version would be nice to use with factory image. But thanks anyway

How do I know if I have Odex or not?
Look at your root/system/app and if there are .odex files along with apk then you have odexed rom like factory image
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 4
Well if you haven't flashed any custom ROMs then you are odex most likely. If you did flash custom ROMs, the information in the thread should tell you whether it's odex or deodex.
Edit: playabigfoot beat me to it
As for an odex version of this mod, keep checking back at the original post by cargobr151 I linked in the OP. He is the creator of the GSM version of this mod, not me. He says in his post that the odex versions will be coming soon.

mine is deodexed stock JWR66V on nexus 4 and each of the files causes systemui to crash on boot. i am mounting system each time before i flash but no luck, going back to stock qs for now
Make sure you're using version 1 in the link I posted in the OP. This is the one I'm using and I've had no issue so far.
Also, make sure it's the one posted by cargobr151. If you use the one posted by kevdliu it'll cause the system ui to crash.

Nevermind about what I originally asked, I see it. However, I am guessing the odexed version posted by cargobr151 of kevdliu's mod will not work? AKA Don't try the mod posted here on my factory image?

From my understanding, it will work but it gets rid of the day/month line on JWR66V builds. I don't think this is the case on JSS builds but I'm not 100% sure on that.
Just be sure to do a backup before you try and flash the one you linked.

I flashed and using v.2 on deodexed stock without any problem

Great Thank you
I flashed v1 and it works great. I even used 7zip to copy my battery and softkey pngs over before flashing and kept those mods.

odex version +1. I'm surprised that there is less interest from developers to create this.
I tried both (first deodex, then tried odex) and they didn't work. Status bar and navigation bar gone.
I was JWR66V stock with root only, TWRP 2.6.0.0
I restored JWR66V and updated to Y. But I'm really interested!
+1 same here

The odexed version won't work as it was made for the GNex. Odex mods are device-specific. The deodex version worked fine for me, though.
Deodex here, nothing have changed.
Edit, did it again now it worked
