Extended battery issues - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hello guys,
I have a GSM Galaxy Nexus running the latest Android 4.2.1 Officialy from Google. I hae bought an original extended battery for it, but the issue is that it seems that it holds less juice than the original one, that came with the phone.
With the default battery, i get around 3 hours of screen on and with the extended one, i barely get 2:40 minutes. Tried this a couple of times.
What's the matter with it ? Do i need to calibrate it somehow ?

I have the same battery and had the same issue. After using it for about a week it started working better. What I suggest is charge it all the way up and then use it until it completely goes dead then fully charge it again. Do this a few times then you should notice the difference which isn't huge but I'm averaging about 4-5 hours more than standard now.

I did this allready, and there's no improovement.
I have been using this batter for over 1 month now.

With Li-ion batteries, this should make no difference what so ever. It should get better over time. From what I've researched, you should never let a li-ion battery fully die. When it hits 20% - 30% fully charge and then don't charge again until you hit 20%. There are only so many charging cycles on a battery.
You might have something constantly running in the background that is eating your battery. Try juice defender, it drastically improved my stand by time.

What i was saying:
The stock battery holds a charge of ~3 hours of screen on time
The extended battery holds a charge that lasts less than 3 hours witch is strange because it haves a bigger capacity.
Is there any way to reset the baattery stats ? Or to reset the battery count ? Something like that ?

The whole "wipe battery stats" thing found in CWM is useless. Confirmed to be by a developer at google.

I see. Anything else i can try ?

[Q] How to calibrate new extended battery

Ive read that the way weve always used with the wiping of battery stats actually doesnt do anything.
I got a GTmax 3500 mah battery but the phone turns off at 0, even though it has power, its sitting at the recovery screen and is just fine. I was wondering, do i just leave it here to drain it, or do I have some other method of calibration. Im pretty sure its going by its old stats because it drained in 12 hours and turned off. I SHOULD get ~23-24 hours on the new battery.
Yes, it has been determined that the battery stats file we used to wipe does absolutely nothing to prolong the battery's charge on any Android phone. The only thing it does is wipe out the statistics that we see for what is using the battery. Personally, I've never noticed any difference in battery longevity when wiping the stats file, so I stopped wiping it long before this information came to light.
As for your issue, the phone turning off at 0% seems pretty normal to me. I'm not really sure what your concern is. Just because you can access the recovery screen doesn't mean there is enough power to let the phone run normally. I would let it charge for several hours before using it again or at least leave it on the AC charger while you use it. It is also not a good idea to let the phone discharge down to 0%, as this can shorten the lifespan of the battery. Typically, the battery power meter is pretty accurate. Plus the battery should be fully charged before use. It is speculated that if you condition the battery itself (fully charge, then fully discharge (the one and only time this should be done), and fully recharge it again), you may see better life. Considering that on a typical day, I get about 5 hours of heavy use before I have to plug it in, I would welcome 12 hours without having to charge.

Thats strange. I got some friends with iPhone 4S and they get over a full day with some moderate use. I get 12-16 hours tops. I can easily drain it in 8 hours. Doesnt seem like it should require mid day charging.

Under volt, setcpu, good kernel, brightness etc.

It is very difficult at best to compare iDevices and Android devices. The hardware and software are completely different. Regardless, I also know folks with the iPhone 4s. About half of them drain their device within 5 hours. Constantly doing stuff... The batteries on most smartphones are just not up to standards with today's hardware. At any rate, the rest of the folks I know with the iPhone 4s are more moderate users. They get about 7-8 hours. One person claims she gets 9. It depends on usage. Plus, as avarize stated, underclock, a decent kernel, screen brightness, etc... And SetCPU is a great app (even for non-rooted devices). Also, constant text messages tend to drain devices. It just depends on how you use it.

T989 Battery Spazzing Out

My phone just started to do this about a week ago.
I tried reflashing, wiping cache/data, factory reset- nothing.
Whenever I charge, it will either charge significantly slow, or say charging but the percentage just goes down as if it wasn't even charging in the first place.
So I powered off for the entire night, (8-9 hours) and it will say fully charged. And I keep it connected to the charger but when I take a look at the phone again about 15 min later it reads 83% battery and charging.
I was really annoyed so I just left my phone on the charger again while I took a power nap (1-2 Hours) and after that I take a look and now it reads 68%.
The other day I saw it was fully charged so I took it off the charger and went on with my day. After, not even about 8 hours, it was already 10%.
It's like it only charges normally when the phone is shut off. Do I just need to replace the battery? Or is it something with the phone that drains the battery so quickly? I've already ordered a replacement extended battery off of Amazon just in case.
Most likely your battery. Go into battery stats and see whats apps are having high usage. Or download Gsam.

Im pretty sure its the battery now, the stats are normal and it doesn't seem like one process is hogging all the cpu. Can't wait for my extended battery next week, i cant last a week more with this annoying battery issue. Any suggestions for now?

battery problems (hyperion 4300)

Correction on the TITLE 4200 not 4300 sorry
The problem
Battery. it 40% in less than 12h
The set up
SgsIII stock rom
Ive been running windows 8 launcher(a week), apex launcher
Hyperion 4200 battery
Most charges are 8/9hrs
I kill most apps with holding home than the trash can.
Here what ive noticed in the last 2to 3 weeks ive been getting super crapp battery life. I was getting 1day +10hrs on moderate use
And now ive been lucky to get 12hrs on this battery. When im out at work I turn wifi off gps off and screen rotation off.
I also noticed a couple of times when I took it off charge it showed 100% then in 10min it was down to 88% and steadly dropping.
Is there a way to recalibrate the battery.
I don't know if its the exact same battery you have, but I've been using this Hyperion for a month now and I'm starting to have problems with it too:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00851RT28/ref=oh_details_o04_s00_i00
For the first 3 weeks it worked totally fine, charged to 100% in a reasonable time, etc. But now it takes a REALLY long time to charge. And it only charges to 98% instead of 100. Also, the battery drains a lot faster than it did the first 3 weeks.
I'm running stock everything.
Killed all background apps to make sure that it wasnt the cause for battery drain too.

[Q] Extreme battery drain even with new battery and new charger on 4.4.4?

Basically as title reads. I've been having extreme battery drain. I thought it might have been my battery that was shot, so I bought a new one, as well as a charger. I even had a massive battery (don't know the mAh off the top of my head, and it isn't with me- but it was so large that it came with its own new backing) that also seemed to drain quickly. It seems the original battery would last 2-3 hours with barely any usage (a text or two; checking the time) and with regular usage (googling, reddit, texts) would be an hour. The large battery lasted 3-4 with barely any usage and 1-3 with usage. WiFi is off as well as GPS.. Only apps (besides what regularly runs) running are Handcent, Chrome, clock. That's all.
It also seems to discharge when charging and using my phone at the same time, so I have to leave it alone completely while it charges... And it charges really, really slowly. The large battery took 12 hours to fully charge last time I charged it. (I got a new one yesterday, seems my battery is still dying extremely quickly).
Here is what I am running on my phone.
Here is the new battery I ordered for it that I'm currently using.
I also use this to try to extend my battery life to a normal amount.
I am also waiting for this to come in the mail to help juice up my battery life to get through a day at work.
I bought a charger by RocketFish a while back at Best Buy which is what I used for a while before going to default S3 charger (brand new, I was originally using my S2 charger). Nothing seems to be helping.
So all in all, is my phone shot? Is there anything I can do to fix it? I'm not sure I want to go out and buy an S5 (especially with Samsung being so closed about bootloaders now). What can I do?
I'm using CM11 on 4.4.4
Well some people have complaints about Cyan's battery life so have you tried taking back to stock?

Got new battery, do I need to reset battery stats?

tl;dr: Got a new battery. I've seen lots of posts around on how to reset the battery stats so the phone "knows" how to accurately gauge how much batter is left. Is that necessary with a new battery?
I upgraded to stock pie about a month or so ago. Since then, my phone randomly freezes and reboots 5-10 times per day. It's not an app causing it as it does it the same thing in safe mode. It happens when the phone is plugged in also. I thought maybe it was the battery, so I got a new one installed. It's still doing it even after the new battery. What Is your screen on time with the new battery? do you recomend replace the battery?
Jumping in, 6 months old device, battery still has full capacity.

I don't really remember what it was before I had the battery replaced. SOT was definitely quite a bit lower than when new. The phone was over a year and half old and I'm a pretty heavy user so it was charge cycles A LOT. IIRC, Accubattery showed it was holding about 75% of original charge. It definitely feels, like the new battery as a couple more(if not more) hours of SOT now.

Hi there.
Was wondering if u have replaced the battery yourself. And it survived the procedure alright. I am now having the same stats - accubattery shows 75% health.
Should I go for it? Scared as hell
