hi dear xda
htc just shows the htc logo: I can't boot a rom or into the recovery.
Fastboot is working. Tried to flash some recoverys - they dont work: everytime the green htc lettering.
Can't find a RUU for my device (tried severals) .. this one which I tried just spend me a "remote: 99 unknown fail".
my target is to install a stable version of cyongenmod. no more, no less.
Hope there is someone who can help me.

You are S-ON, do you have an unlocked bootloader? how did you get in that state? What is that image that you are showing?

Thanks for your answer.
Yes the bootloader is unlocked. The image version is shown to me, whenever I'm trying to install a RUU - I thought may it could be useful.
I installed clockworkmod recovery and used it to install cyanogenmod10. And since then nothing is working any more. I don't know why.

yes I did. Still splashscreen. When I'm just take an other ROM and use "flashboot flash boot boot.img" It falls into a bootloop (cyanogenmod). Is there a possibility to reset everthing/flashing an orginal rom. Like the downloadmode/odin with the galaxys?

how do i find out which is the right ruu for my phone? especially when my phone is stuck on the htc logo boot loop? how do you know which one to use? i think its AT&T desire HD. i dont see anything with that brand on the shipped roms list for desire phones

this is a development site and not android 101, while we can point you in the right direction and give you all the tools you need to do it yourself, we can not do it for you.
If you are not able to go pass the key, then don´t try anything with your phone. You will get stuck and will come back asking how to unbrick it.
Take time to read and read thoroughly for comprehension, otherwise you will mess YOUR phone and nobody will care about it but you. Rooting is not for everybody and of course implies risks, so you are warned.

I don't know about rooting, but you are definitely S-OFF. That triangle means that you have stock recovery and not a custom one. Probably before selling it, the owner flashed a RUU, so I am guessing that you don't have root access either.
Yes, being S-OFF allows you to flash CWM or 4ext recovery. From there you can flash whatever you want. :good:

Please help, how do I get back to a working device???
What would you do?
Which ROM would you flash?
can you boot into your HBoot by pressing the Vol- button during the start?
after this, go to Fastboot and press the Power Button. Now, connect your HOX to your PC.
If you want to flash something, you have to unlock your Bootloader first

So,
I just bought a Htc Desire z a few days ago. Unlocked the bootloader, Installed CWM. All was going well until I decided to flash a Rom then the phone when into a bootloop and CWM stopped working.
So far I've fixed the recovery through fastboot but I'm still in a bootloop.
Any Ideas?
Additional details:
I'm on Ubuntu, I'm not so good with fastboot(or adb), the phone is a Turkish HTC desire Z, I have a NAndroid back-up right before I flashed the rom. I've tried combining it with the stock recovery. Obviously didn't work.

Hi,

It means security ON
So, it won't let you flash anything
First, you have to run a rom again (dunno how....
from bootloader what are yours options? You can go to recovery?
if not, maybe installing a RUU from bootloader... But wait, i'm not sure you can...

No actually I can extract a RUU to a IMG file.
I currently can go into the bootloader(therefore into fastboot) and I can flash recoveries long as they're in img format.
I know this going to sound stupid considering that I got this far but what exactley is a RUU ? I mean I know I got the Hboot update from one but do they contain stock Roms as well?

didn't see much on s-off. You do have anything else?
Its in the first post, first you need to get a factory image running and relock your bootloader, then follow the steps in the xda wiki or strawmetals PDF guide. If you don't want to do this and would rather keep secure flags on then then each ROM you flash you will need to fastboot flash the kernel when done
But I highly recommend to get true radio s-off
