Hi folks,
I am looking for a sweet as hell flashable keyboard that will work on 4.2.1 C-RoM Mix v6.
Preferably Galaxy S2 or S3 keyboard as I love these keyboards!
Any suggestions would be gratefully welcomed.
As i am not an expert on this. You could try to download any ROM and take latinIME.apk and install it. Make a backup from the original one first to prevent problems

I'm sort of a noob mate, I haven't a clue on how to to that. I can flash until the cow's come home and that's about it lol
What he means is that you could download any ROM zip and take the keyboard out of it. It would be in /system/app/ and would be named latinime.apk

Which keyboard?
I am after something that is the ICS or JB Keyboard!
If you mean the original Samsung Keyboard, then you'll need to check samsung galaxy s 3 ROMS.. For jelly beans. Take the ultima rom or omega. Both have the keyboard
---------- Post added at 08:09 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:07 PM ----------
Give me some time i'll find one for you
Even tho i think it wont work here is a zip file.. Unrar and put latinime.apk in /system/app and lib in /system/lib only when needed.
It contains the latinime.apk and a lib file. Make a backup first..

Downloading now.
What do I do after it's downloaded? As I said I am a noob at this kinda thing.
Unzip it on you computer.
Put the folder (keyboard Android) on your sdcard
Reboot recovery and make a full backup (just in case)
Reboot normal
Go to the folder on your SDcard
Go to the folder App and take the .apk file (copy it) and paste it in /system/app (use rootexplorer) (you can rename the orignal .apk which is in /system/app to LatinIME.bak.apk (as an extra backup) and paste the file from sdcard in to this folder.
And then you should open any text editor and try to type something.

Oh here's the original thread with the zip file
from my understanding you should be able to download the bootanimation-evo.zip and rename it to either bootanimation.zip or sanim.zip and put it in the /system/media/ location
make sure that the ROM you're running has a kernel that has bootanimation support
You can use the EVO file because it's the same resolution as our Epic 4G Touch

I use 7zip for everything. I wasn't saying to rezip the files, I suggested simply renaming the zip to the appropriate name for the bootanimation, as a matter of fact I will test it on my own phone for you and give you my results

Renamed to bootanimation.zip

Hi all, I'm newbie, and I want to share you guys the guide to make our status bar look like the Galaxy S4 (Specialy it has s4 white icon) .
-First you need to download the attachment, then extracted it
-Now you have to decompile ( or change extension to .zip and extracted it i guess) the systemUI.apk
-Next, find the drawable-hdpi folder in your systemUI.apk and replace it which the one you extracted in the attachment
-Recompile ( or compress by zip and change to .apk )
-Copy systemUI.apk mod to system/app ( remember to BACKUP your original apk)
-Use Xposed Tweakbox to make status bar full transparent and the clock to white, reboot and enjoyed
And sorry for my bad english :silly:

2rename it to zip them extract
3extract the attached file from 1st post
4copy and replace
5then unzip and rename to apk
6move to tmp folder 1st to change permission
and last move/replace the said file to system/app folder
result = "unfortunately systemUI.apk has stopped"
please help me, I'm a noob in modification like this.

Ah, now I got it.
You can not extract apk Files and change Files.
You have to decompile. -> Try to follow here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2203166
Only copy & past is not possible in this case
thanks

Read first Post on Page 2
The reply up there I ask you becos' it's wrong, You can do this: Multi Select all the file > compress by zip > change to .apk. That done You need to decompile/recompile when customize the code, but now no need
Never unpack apks! This way you will lose signature.
Just take your apk, open it with WinRAR/7zip without changing the extension,go to res/drawable-hdpi and drag the files there. Then push your SystemUI again to your phone and it should work
If in the drawable-hdpi package there are also .9 pngs decompiling the apk may be necessary
If no one manages to get it working I will make a flashable zip
I think decompile is also necessary if xml Files are changed
---------- Post added at 03:07 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:46 PM ----------

mission accomplished for me
i was looking for this mod and i followed instructions on first post, but it doesn't work, because the new compiled systemUI.apk is not recognized by the phone (you can notice it when you see a different icon instead the red one).
The key is DO NOT ESTRACT any file, but only open systemUI.apk with 7zip, go to drawable-hdpi folder and drag files into it, images will be overwritten (i used only 2 files for this test, notification header and panel), then you can close 7zip.
Dariolob suggest is correct, do not extract files from systemUI.
For xposed tweak i followed instructions from youtube, search for "Make Galaxy Note look like the Galaxy S4"
sorry i cant post outside links
here is my mod:

Restore the ability to play mp4 bootanimation from stock motorola ROM
Remove the .txt from file in attachments and put the file in system/bin and replace the original one
Don't forget to make a backup in case anything goes wrong
After that you'll be able to use the mp4 bootanimation.zip from stock rom

yeay, it work on PA 4.44 . thanks man
I finally got this to work....
I have the Boostmobile CDMA XT1031 variant and I am running Stock 4.4.4.+Xposed.
I had to manually set the permissions of that bootanimation file of yours to: rwxr-xr-x.
All that work to get the Android L boot animation to work on stock!
Didn't worked for me at first try then I did this:
1) Change the permissions of the bootanimation file that you pasted in system/bin (change it to -rwxr-xr-x)
2) Change the permissions of bootanimation.zip that you pasted in system/media and change the permission as you changed it for above file.
3) Reboot and enjoy!
Very nice!! :good:
I will make a flasheable zip to it easy!

It worked on my Boost Mobile moto g (xt1031). At first I had problems but then I realized that I forgot to change permissions ?. Here is the install method: (I don't know much about the features when you post so I guess you'll have to share this reply somehow for those that have problems and could have some help)
1. Backup "bootanimation" located in system/bin (I just make a folder in my Downloads calling it backup______ and place it in there)
2. Rename attachment from "bootanimation.txt" to "bootanimation" Copy and paste the "bootanimation" into system/bin (yes you replace it (or overwrite whatever ot says).
3. Change file's permissions to rwxr-xr-x
4. There is no "4" you're done. However, if you have a theme loaded in your rom I think you're going to have to update the boot animation back to stock in your theme settings.
Restoring:
1. Rename backup to "bootanimation" and paste to system/bin.
2. Change permissions to rwxr-xr-x
If you need help i'll try to help based on what I know

It looks, that there should be problem with dark theme and removing mod for now, sorry :/ You can simply restore original Settings.apk file but it will not restore supersu icon in app drawer, don't why??? You can still access supersu app from dialer if you dial *#*#1234#*#*.
Sorry for this complication, but I didn't try restore original state. Of course, if you have full rom backup, it will always help

Trying to do this on CM, but the values don't correspond. If someone could help me with this I can upload an APK

I found the way how to do it, but you have to use slightly moded supersu.apk If you want to try it, just download supersu.apk from attachment and copy to data/app/en.chainfire.supersu folder or system/app/SuperSu folder (depends on, where is supersu installed) and overwrite SuperUser apk with proper name of apk file (this moded supersu.apk cant't be install). Then reboot phone, SuperSu icon will be again in app drawer so in settings select hide icon and select what theme you prefer Good luck and no warrenty with this "mod"

Tested. Unable to open su in settings. But still thanks so much for trying. Appreciate it.
I did rename the file name and change permission.

Here is your moded file. My tutorial fits to cm settings too, you are doing something wrong...
Code:

Btw, I didn't test this, I don't have cm installed, so for sure make full rom backup

You have to decomplie *.apk file to see these xml and other files, only extracting with winrar (or similar program) isn't enought. For de/compiling you have to use apktool, there is planty of tutorials on xda how to use and where to download apktool
