I though i would make this thread so that everyone can see what each other's favorite payed/free app is. Feel free to post screen shots and maybe an explanation of why its your favorite.
My favorite app at the moment is (Vonage) It allows me to call and text friends and family in the states for free as long as the app is installed on their phone.

Well, my top 3 fave apps (not in order):
ThumbKeyboard -
Have tried many other keyboards but this is my fave, brilliant response, ability to customise, brilliant auto correct and prediction.
App Cache Cleaner -
Fantastic cache cleaner app, all in one place and able to see what uses most cache and clear it easily.
3GWatchDog -
Yes, data usage monitor is inbuilt, but love the widgets and break down that this app gives, find it very informative.
I could have put Titanium Backup, but that's more an essential app rather than a fave one I use on a daily basis etc.
I have few
App lock
Lock your apps
Wolfram alpha
Helps you with math problems
Tv portal
Watch online shows and movies 4 free

Hi,
I've been browsing the forum to find this out but I could not find a conclusive answer. I'm using Launcher Pro (not Plus) and I was wondering if there is a way to organize my app drawer to display only my favorite apps?
thanks in advance
Rafa
i dont thinkk you can with launcher pro, which is also what i use.
however i use the app folder organizer light to group my apps. in fact it has replaced the app locker on my dock for accessing my apps.
hope that helps

What widgets, functionalities, and/or apps is lost from touchwiz by using nova or apex launcher?
I use nova, haven't noticed any features missing.

The only thing I haven't figured out how to do with Apex that I can with TouchWiz launcher is change the wallpaper of both the home and lock screens. Can it be done?
Yes, just go to security I believe. The options are at the top.

Well technically touchwhiz is still running even when you install a third party launcher so you shouldn't be missing any built in functions like smart stay, direct call, etc. I haven't noticed any functionality loss due to installing Nova at all.
Thanks for the input. What about widgets. Coming from Sense, a lot of widgets were lost when I used a third party launcher.
I use apex.... And yes you loose the touchwiz widgets. There were only a few from what I remember as I hated touchwiz after 3 days, it wastes so much screen relistate. So you loose the touchwiz calendar, email, clock, and photo widgets..... I'm just going off memory though there might be more.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium
The only thing I miss is being able to organize my app drawer into folders. I have yet to find anything with
APEX that allows me to do that. But there may be something out there to accommodate folders, but I'm not aware of it. If anyone does know or if it's built in, please let me know!

you don't lose the clock widget...
On Jelly Bean, what you lose is the ability to just toss items off the homescreen. You physically have to drag items to the "x" to remove them. You also lose the auto organizer feature when you drag widgets around.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using XDA Premium HD app
For some reason in apex, it makes my widgets 5x(X) even though they're normally 4x(X)

While you can't do that in Apex Launcher (as of the time I am writing this), you can always go to Settings->Wallpaper (It will be under the device category) to change the lockscreen/homescreen/homescreen&lockscreen wallpapers.
Using Apex or Nova also does not allow the badge functionality you have on touch wiz. You know, the little red icons when you have a missed call or email message. It's a bummer as I do like this function; however, Nova is super awesome due to its gesture function.

Nova Prime ($4 in play store) has "Drawer Groups". I have all my apps categorized into communication, games, multimedia, shopping, and system tools. Those folders show up at the top of the drawer, and all the un-categorized apps show up below it.
I think it's still not as good as the ADW Launcher that was built into CM7 that I was using on my DroidX. With that I could make shortcuts on my home screen to an individual category, so the kids could easily get to games and only games.

I like the weather widget. I tried like 4 different launchers and it was not available on any of them. If anyone can figure how to make it work in nova or any of the other launchers, I'll switch over from touchwiz.

Anyone mind sharing your weather widgets or know a nice wv post here cause the 1 that comes with TW is a shame takes up to much ram and rewrites and lags up the launcher by just scrolling. Deactivate it and its parts and your phone is going much snappier.

+1 for Android Weather. Just dled it last night but its the best weather widget I've ever used. I like how yo can open your calendar and clock app from the widget. Thanks for the heads up in this.
I use WeatherLove (Free on Market) , customisable , gps based (can be disabled) , transparency capable ... Have a try
HD Weather Widgets. Very customizable. It's foggy at the moment (you can see a cloud in the middle, under the clock). Background is set to Transparent.
Beautiful widgets.
It doesn't consume so much RAM or processor power.

Hi (EG4T?) community, I like to share possibility the best launcher out there, especially the features it has and the price point.... FREE. Solo Launcher basically has all the features of Apex and Nova Pro but it improves on some of them.

Thanks again for pointing this out, bro.
Can it handle large grid sizes like Nova (>10 x 10)? Also, wondering if you can overlap widgets, and have the option to have the dock as overlay. Those are must haves on my list. I couldn't tell from the vid.
Looks like I might have hijacked your posts. Let me know if you want me to move this and delete the original.

They openly take requests in the app reviews (or I think you can email the dev), but I don't think its in there for the most part.
As for the grid size....
Edit: they do have dock as overlay option, but they don't have overlapping widgets yet
Nice. With all the apps I buy, it'll be nice to see a free one do the job well.
Edit: Is that green, beveled border in the screenshot integrated in the launcher, or is that the glass mod from jellyverse? If the latter, that's a huge plus, as it does not work with Apex or Nova. If the former, then that's just frickin awesome.

I'm running 240 dpi (stock is 320) the note 2 has a great screen but isn't utilised my 320 dpi.
To run in 240dpi mode I did this.
You must be rooted.
Download texdroider dpi from play store.
You also need exposed
Download app settings module from exposed.
Open app settings
Change the following
Calculator
camera
contacts
photo editor
radio
voice recorder
Gallery
Click the one you want to change
At the top of the screen slide the toggle switch to the right to activate it.
Enter 320 for the dpi
Form the drop down box for screen dp pick 800x1280
Click on save on the top right.
Do this for all apps in the list and for any other apps that fc or don't fit the screen in 240 dpi mode.
Download apex launcher and import your current launcher settings (so you keep all your folders / icons) (touchwiz launcher doesn't work in 240dpi but apex looks and acts the same)
Open texdroider and enter 240 for new dpi.
Hit apply then reboot phone.
Your phone is in 240 dpi mode.
You can now change the amount of icons you want on your home screen as well as other settings for apex launcher.
7 icons down and 6 across works best for me.
(the settings i changed in apex settings are
homescreen
portrait grid 7x6
icon size 110%
Dock settings
icon size 130%
Advanced settings
keep in memory ticked)
You can also download play store fixes for exposed to submit a normal density to google play store
I also have apex notifier and missed it for notifications
I think that's everything
