I was advised that i needed to update my recovery to twrp from cwm recovery to avoid an issue i got while flashing roms (the contents of my sd card would get pushed down into a subfolder of a newly created set of folders) however when i wiped my phone, as i always used to do with CWM twrp seems to have wiped a lot more, its wiped the existing rom, and all the files on my card, so i cant install a new rom. Basically i only have access to twrp recovery mode, how can i get the rom .zips onto my phone to install them? Id really appreciate any help at all, i had no issues flashing with CWM and i really dont know what to do.
download a rom/gapps and use adb to transfer them to your sdcard.. adb command "adb push file.zip /sdcard/file.zip"..
PS- in twrp wiping data wipes EVERYTHING so when you want to wipe before flashing a rom do a factory reset and DONT wipe data

Okay, so earlier today I rooted my evo and flashed the CM6 ROM. A little later I tried to install Google apps.
I followed a tutorial on youtube on how to install gapps using rom manager.
Now my Evo is stuck in the Clockworkmod recovery screen and when I click reboot system now it reboots and goes back to the clockworkmod screen. I tried wiping data/factory reset and then re-installing the CM6 ROM, it did not work.
I really need some help here, I'm not too experienced and I don't want to brick my Evo. How do i fix this?? I am freaking out. Thank you!
I use AmonRA recovery personally and flash everything through recovery. I had too many problems when I tried flashing things through Rom Manager app. Do you have a nandroid backup? If so install the backup and then boot into recovery and reinstall CM6 and gapps back to back in the same recovery session. If no backup, download PC36IMG that corresponds with your hboot version and put it on the root of your sd card. Boot into bootloader by holding volume down and power at the same time. It will scan the sd card for PC36IMG and then verify it. It will then ask you if you want to update. Select yes and let it do its thing and then when it asks if you want to reboot select yes. This will put you back to stock and may unroot, so you may have to do the root procedure again. Then install CM6 and gapps in same recovery session.
Before all this try wiping cache and davlick cache and reboot. If that doesn't work try powering off phone through clockwork and then boot into bootloader. It will scan for PC36IMG and not find it then you will have options to boot into different things. Select recovery, and it will boot into Clockwork. Wipe cache and davlick cache and reboot. See if this works. If not you will have to nandroid or go back to stock probably unless someone that has had this problem and comes along to help you fix it. Always wipe cache and davlick when installing something new like gapps or kernels and full wipe when installing a new Rom, unless you are updating a Rom then just Davlick and Cache.
As long as the phone turns on it is not bricked.

If you are having issues getting the img on your SD card, if you have a card reader handy just use that to transfer it over

I did find the correct one for my hboot version, but another question I have is do I need to flash unrevoked-forever-son.zip since I rooted using unrevoked 3.32? Or do I just put the PC36IMG on the sd card and flash it? Thanks.
Okay, I seem to have gotten it back to stock. Thank god, thought I lost my evo for a minute! Thanks to those who helped me out, its 4:45 in the morning and now I can finally go to bed! ;]
LOL glad ya got it back.. Yeah thats where I was heading before I seen your post..Its 5:46 am and Im not sure how many Evo people are actually on at this time so...anyway nite
I stayed on to help as long as I could, but had to go to work. Sorry I couldn't be here to help with more questions. Funny I was just getting up for work and you guys were just going to bed.
Glad you got it fixed for now. Remember to flash CM6 from recovery and not Rom Manager. Also, flash Gapps from recovery and not Rom Manager app. Flash CM then gapps and reboot. Make sure you do a full wipe first though. You could also look for Calkulin's tools thread in Dev section of EVO forum and find his wipe all zip. You just flash it like any other zip but it formats data, cache, boot and system partitions so that when you flash a new ROM nothing is left over from old one. Good luck my friend and happy flashing.
PS. I don't think the stock rom would give you s-on since you already had s-off, so you should be good to go. I could be wrong, but as long as you still have a custom recovery and s-off you should be good to flash any Rom.
evo camera
ok i have a root evo but my camara dosent work ... can some body help me to fx that problem

I was trying to flash a new rom today and i wiped everything perfectly fine (using twrp) and then it wouldn't boot up so I went to restore from a backup and that didn't work either. Then when i wanted to go restore to a different backup , i found that my whole internal storage has been wiped! I HAVE EVERYTHING ON THERE, MY ROM, MY GAPPS. now I don't have backups or a rom to flash! I did not reboot yet but what can I do right now that I don't have an OS cause system was wiped?
Essentially, I have no ROM installed and I don't want to reboot the phone cause I don't know what will happen. PLus the fact that I can't connect to computer via recovery so I can't add files onto the phone. What Can I do now? someone please help asap! :'(
do you have a micro SD card?
if so, pop it out, put some stuff on it, then put it back in.

Load your SD card. Select reboot and select recovery. It'll reboot right back into twrp.
Make sure when you go to install you select external.

just to double check, you do have an i747 and you did download roms for your i747, correct? which carrier?
if you've got the right downloads, i would try flashing in recovery once more via these steps:
Select Wipe data/factory reset
Select Wipe Cache
Select Advanced and Wipe Dalvik Cache
Select Mounts and Storage and format /system
Go back out to the main recovery screen and choose the "install .zip from external SD card" option
Flash gapps, select "install .zip from SD Card" again and locate/install the downloaded gapps file
Wipe data again
Wipe cache
Reboot system. It will take several minutes to load so be patient
if this doesnt work, you could flash stock via odin

Well im somewhat new to rooting etc, so while I was in twrp I accidentally hit the format button assuming it would give me options and I formatted the internal SD, I could not Re partition it, So I formatted everything and installed a new and clockwork mod(some said that would fix it), attempted to reformat it and partition it, i couldn't, it wouldn't even recognize so after trying everything I could, I just made the problem worse and worse, now clockwork mod wont even go back, like I literally cant go back, It just crashes when I try to go back, Whenever I try to flash from Odin to the phone, trying to with clockwork mod, it still seems corrupted, so its been sitting on my desk for a week, I've been trying to fix it for two, so being the stereotypical guy, the last thing I do, I ask for help, So please, Help?

Try flash this Rom which has root access built into it
Also, I recommend you use TWRP recovery (flashable zip) instead since it's UI and features are better than CWM(I think the author had discontinued the project)

Or try wipe the internal SD Card (backup your data first) then flash the Recovery Zip (first) then the Rom (Second), finally the Gapps (third)

Did you "flash" the recovery ? If no then try to flash the recovery instead....
If all above didn't work for you, then I suggest you to odin back to the stock Rom
So I wanted to go to Lollipop and I happened to flash the twrp recovery for new layout(as i was getting boot loop when flashing the rom with cwm recovery)
The things i tried until now.
1. Installed twrp and formatted it to get the new layout. Wiped everything, system, cache, data, dalvik cache
2. It was supporting MTP so i transferred the roms to the device being in recovery. Installed CM 12 + gapps for lollipop.
3. Rebooted to bootloader again. flashed boot.img, and did fastboot erase cache.
4. Rebooted again and stuck at CM boot logo.
I wiped the cache, dalvik cache(actually did a factory reset in the twrp recovery) and tried installing Resurrection Remix. Again flashed the relevant boot.img too. But the same result..
Did i destroy my phone?

Yes I can enter recovery. But again I just cant get any lollipop ROM's working. I dont know whether i have to restore to kitkat(i really dont want too..
I dont get it.. Wipe dalvik cache, cache, data and then disable mtp and then enable mtp.. I mean at the end what does this do?
And in the meanwhile did you mean HTC Sync Manager for device manager. FYI I use a mac(if this helps to get into the problem). And i had flashed kitkat roms from the same without a hiccup but lollipop is failing

its hard to explain with recovery you can mount ur sdcard and put another room and install ,the easy way its to start from the begin and install clear CM12 and you will get out from bootloop that help me i was in bootloop like 3920489208420984920 times hahaha

Have you solve the bootloop issue? I am having the same problem on my International One X
thanks
Probably both of you encountered the same problem as me.
If you are S-on, you have to flash rom and kernel separately. Also, if you try to revert any changes with twrp you have to flash kernel you were using during creation of backup, and then restore backup.
In other words: your current kernel is incompatible with rom.
Mwys
Yes i am S-ON. Can you tell me what the steps are to flash the kernel? I do not have a backup.
What is did was flash New Layout TWRP, did a complete wipe, then copied the ROM and G-Apps zips to the phone, installed them and then flashed boot.img.
Thanks for the help
Yup I also tried the same. but no luck. I tried to revert back to kitkat(by installing cwm, format the storage, sideloaded the ROM and gapps, flashed the boot.img) and still again in bootloop.
Sorry for the delay. I was a lot too busy with work.

No, but most people would flash gapps 6 too, else you will miss a lot (must be done at the same time as the ROM the first time to set permissions)

Copy CM13 rom and gapp in your sd card.
Backup your old firmware through twrp.
Do a factory Reset from Wipe.
And install CM13 and gapp respectively.
And enjoy ^_^

checked every file hash matches, did exactly as written, done all of above and it doesn't work
TWRP went on in less than 10 second does that sound normal ? and how do you know if its actually on there?
Nope. Installation take atleast 2 or 3 minutes.
and if its installed properly you would have seen different rom from the stock.
Here is what i use for s4 mini(i9192). Also used it on i9190 model as well.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-mini/development/rom-aokp-rom-25-apr-2016-t3366314
and these steps mentioned in the website.
A. Initial install
1. Copy ROM and Gapps to your external SD Card or internal memory
2. Boot into recovery
3. Wipe
4. Install ROM and Gapps
5. Reboot
Its simple. Should have worked.
I hope you have installed your model rom.

In TWRP Swipe for factory reset will do the job. you can also do dalvik /art cache in advance wipe. System or other wipe never did it for changing roms.

Ie that enough only to make WIPE FACTORY RESET AND WIPE DALVIK CACHE is not necessary to the FORMAT SYSTEM, DATA AND CACHE ??
sorry i do not understand.
to install a rom just do a factory reset. nothing else is necessary.
If you do not do factory reset, sometimes you will not be able to install a new version of rom(for example, from kitkat to lollipop).
if you do not do factory reset its called dirty flash.
for example
you are using custom rom cm13. and it has a new update released, you go in twrp recovery and install the updated rom without doing factory reset. this way you can keep all the application and data you have.
i hope i am making some sense. it is hard for me to explain.
well do some flashing and you will understand but always make a backup.
