[Q] Problem flashing 4.2.2 rom

Hey im trying to flash P.A.C-Man rom from Aocp the collective and twrp 2.4.4.0 is telling me failed over and over, but if i try to flash Aocp again it does it no problem. What's wrong with it?

what exactly is the error message?
try going back to an earlier version of twrp

flash in twrp, reboot recovery, flash rom. report back

Yeah it was a bad one, I went over to the forum and saw others complaining about it so i flashed liquid smooth instead. Thanks though!

The Op said it was a basketbuild error (the site that hosts the rom). I found the the 4/5 nightly failed to install in TWRP for me also but the 4/3 worked fine and i think the issues have been fixed so the next nightly should work fine.

[ROM / DEV][5/10/2013] - AT&T Stock Root UCUAMDL - Odex / De-Odex

These ROMS are completely untested but, in theory, should work just fine.
If you are worrisome of flashing then dont do it.
UPDATE: ROM's are not flashing properly. I still need testers to help me figure it out. I believe its one of two issues. If you can help test let me know
These could be tested on Canadian and Tmobile Variants. So if you have one and want to help test then please do so.
This is not an ODIN file! Its a zip file to be flashed in Recovery.

No, they are recovery flashable only.

It will not flash a modem. Only the ROM and kernel.

Well, after a nandroid and a factory reset ive flashed the deodex version. It flashed overly fast, as though it was flashing a much smaller file then the 1.5 gig rom. Currently stuck on galaxy s4 boot screen. Doesnt seem to be doing anything. Im going to revert for now. Some other canadian with unlocked bootloader confirm?

What recovery did you use and could you grab a recovery log. What it sounds like is the mount points were not correct or some other error occurred causing the files not to unzip.
If you could provide a recovery.log that would be great!
This sucks not having an unlocked device. I am going to see if there is a T-Mobile shop around here...

Actually what I meant to say was, could you flash the ROM again and then pull the recovery log? It gets reset everytime you reboot.
But according to twrp the mount points are correct! Wooohoooo!

I will post a differnt updater binary. If you can replace that in /meta-inf folder... Its buried deep, then try to flash the rom... Let me be right back and attach it...

Ok, here is what I did...
In test 1 is the entire meta-inf folder with the binary from samsung but the exact same scripts
Test 2 is the new binary and slightly modified script.
Just replace the meta-inf in the ROM.zip. If it fails to flash or seems to fail to flash grab the recovery log and that will tell me why its failing.

At&T i747 Issues with flashing any Roms/ Theramsey3 for the help!

Just updated to 4.3 ota stock no root phone. I then rooted my phone. I used CF Auto root and method 2 to root I checked with root checker and it root verified. Also did the supersu and Knox removal script all is fine and was able to flash the zips. Now when I try to flash any roms that 4.3 Iam not able to at all. Now I made some other post and some others say I need to update my bootloader which I came across that you shouldnt update and now with this issues Im having some are saying I should, which I try to use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=41535366&postcount=26684&nocache=1&z=4627683798316866 and when I do this in Odin it comes up fail.
So im completely stuck on what do. Any help will be awesome as of now im just rooted.

It does.. But its been about 30mins now and my light does not even power on and its now 45mins., I did the battery pull and nothing powers up

First page I quoted a different thread second page I wrote my own and posted links.
Read carefully DO NOT FLASH THE WRONG BOOTLOADER. If you do you will have to send it out for Jtag.

Yes im on your page and I have at&t i747 NOT the i747M and Im not seeing the files for just the i747

The debrick file at the very bottom of the first page the one that says it is for the I747U (which is our phone the AT&T phone). That debrick file came off my phone. And it Debricked my phone after I flashed with Odin after I had a bootloop.

Here is a debrick Dump from a I747M from the UEMK5 4.3 that works
Broken link I will update IF/AFTER it is fixed is an untested debrick dump for I747M from the DMF1 4.1.2 (WOuld be used to debrick a device that was bricked before or that has not updated to 4.3 bootloader only)
Here is a debrick file from the I747U on 4.3 thanks to theramsey3 I cannot test it obviously but it looks good in a hex editor. Should work for any one who has bricked the I747U by downgrading the boot loader.

Do Not worry about downloading or installing root or KnoxRemover or SuperSU from the thread below yet focus on the task at hand you need to get your phone booting first then concern yourself with other goodies. You need TWRP and possibly ODIN if you want to take it from there. There are instructions in that thread on the installation of TWRP Skip the rest for now.

With AT&T you will have to download 4.3 bootloaders, a 4.3 rom, a 4.3 kernel and a 4.3 modem. I will post links to Threads where I retreived mine at and possibly a mirror download link with appropriate permissions.

DO not use these files if you are not on AT&T you will simply be wasting your time by bricking your phone again. AND requiring a Jtag.
For the kernel I flashed the one in the middle d2att_Kernel_Stock_init.d_4.3_MJB_v1.0.zip which belongs to upndwn4par. I used loserskater's rom, bootloader and modem everything I used was linked in that thread. With proper permissions I would like to mirror those links as I know they work well.
This will have you rooted from jump Street. You might have to download supersu from the play store. I didn't have to. But YMMV.
Firmware downloadsFOR SGH-I747M USERS ONLY make sure you download the correct file. These are the TAR files that the I747M users can flash via the PDA button in ODIN

I really do not want to be mean or rude with this statement please forgive me if it offends you I don't mean it that way.
You really have to read more or better.
I know there is a lot of information in that thread but if you read it you would see the very last spoiler/click to reveal contents button has the information you need to fix the SD card. If I'm not mistaken there are two spots that I mentioned the SD card fix and the tool to do it.
Now download the mini partition wizard from that post above with the links ^^^ I gave you. And use it to delete all partitions on the micro SD card. Then insert it into the phone. You should get a pop up about having an unformatted SD card and an option to format it. Then you will be good to go.

My wifi and bluetooth both work flawlessly? Did you flash all 4 files? Bootloader, rom, kernel and modem? Flashing files one at a time and wiping the cache and dalvik between files?

Come to think of it when I first tried I flashed the insecure kernel and it broke my wifi then I flashed the stock kernel with init.d Support if I'm not mistaken it was the kernel in the middle.

yeah I just for got to d/l the rom itself lol (im so tired now) but i have about 30 mins left of d/l time for the rom and then im flashing and yes wipe and delvik cleaning after each flash.

Stock recovery constant error, downgraded ROM and updates won't show

Hey y'all, I was on 2.19.40.22 rooted with one click root and successfully applied last week's update to 2.20.40.58 and kept root.
I tried to update to 2.20.40.59 and my phone got all sorts of ****ed up. So I successfully formatted and wiped everything and downgraded to pre-rooted 2.19.40.18 (also downgraded boot/droidboot/stock recovery). After unrooting SuperSU so I'd have a fully stock ROM, I tried updating. That got botched.
So I wiped everything again (including internal storage/data) and fully installed 2.19.40.22 and now my phone sees no updates from ASUS pending and every time I try to enter stock recovery, it just plays like it's trying to apply an update and then throws up the error message. This happens without any OTA update zips in internal storage to trigger recovery to try to apply an update.
I've also tried the other manual way to update (the method other than MOFD_SDUPDATE) and my phone will try to apply the update then displays the same error message again.
I'm at the my wits end having tried everything I can think of, have spent the better part of 6hrs ****ing with my phone. Anyone have any insight?

check your log, it should be in /cache/recovery/last_log IIRC

I finally managed to! I'm embarrassed to admit my problem was opening stock recovery past that damn error screen! I couldn't get adb sideload to work any other way or any other recovery.
