I have had my Desire Z since October 2011. It has been great. I love the phone, and the swing-out keyboard with the number keys missing hasn't bothered me at all.
What does bother me is HOW DANG SLOW my phone is now. I installed Cyanogen 7, the last build available for Desire Z. I seem to remember the phone being responsive when I installed. However, now, the phone is almost becoming unusable. Starting applications like Google Maps frequently results in the "Wait / Force Close" dialog. It can take 10 seconds to realign the screen when I move the keyboard. I've tried CPU monitoring but don't find anything in the background eating the CPU.
What's going on? Lately I've thought about buying a new phone, but I love my Desire Z! (and I've already paid for it and I should get 2 years out of a phone)
Mine is snappy as ever, try a different kernel, a different ROM, partition to ext4, supercharge it, add swap, compcache or zram, pimpmyrom, remove bloat and bad apps, overclock, etc. there are so many things you can do to change how your phone performs, try some things find what works for you.
Then again your idea of slow may differ than mine, I will say that I can hardly remember what a force closed looks like as its been so long...

How do I find out what's slow? And how to make it faster?
My G2 is slow because I've had it for over two years now, it's single-core and is pretty slow even compared to the first dual-core Android phones, I've flashed numerous ROMs on it, etc. In spite of all of that, it has been my most reliable Android phone and is always the one I grab when I brick any other device of mine.
By the way, flash one of Flinny's CM10.1 ROMs and thank me later.
Hi.
Try to stay free ROM more than 500Mb.
AW: [Q] Why is my Desire Z so DANG SLOW?
I would recommend to flash the latest official CyanogenMod 7.2 for DesireZ. It's the fastest in daily use for me.
I also tested Flinnys CM10.1 but flashed CM7.2 again after a couple of days, because it does not run as smooth as CM7.2 and the new features do not wight it.

seriously, mine is fast too. If I compare it with a s2, my dz isn't that bad at all!
viperZ is very impressive, I dont know what they did on this rom, but it's fast.
-no swap
-no ext4
-no supercharge
- zram off
-seeder entropy ON
- animation off
- 2d force gpu
- smartassv2 governor
- 1.4 ghz

Cyanogen 7.2 is exactly what I'm running! It's the latest version of Cyanogen ever released for Desire Z. I just can't understand why other peoples' phones are OK while mine drags. It's the same hardware and software!
its your apps that are installed or your not partitioned to ext 4 or many other things.
personally i havent liked 7.2 for the vision and dont use it as i found it a bit buggy. like i said try a few roms and try some various mods and settings, find what works for you
I noticed this too. Supercharging it helped a bit

Another recommendation is to clean your sdcard. Some apps leave crap and crap all over the SD card and you install/uninstall some and its still there. Might help.

What does this tell anyone?
I don't think it's stuff on the SDcard. That's data, it just sits there and doesn't interfere with the operation of the system.

Could Overclock a little, like others said have you tried supercharge or if you dont like messing with scripts there is always
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...sImNvbS5qcnVtbXkuYXBwcy5tZW1vcnkubWFuYWdlciJd
Also check a task manager see what background programs are running sometimes apps on the sdcard don't just sit there I like android assistant made by Aaron. mainly for its 4x1 widget. Also I have found if things sync alot then my phone seems slower along with short battery.
Hope that helps a little

And that data does what? Just sit there? No, it is constanly being (more) read and (less) written to. That has a overhead.
Check your apps and delete any innceesary ones.

Get SD Main from the Play store and run corpse finder a system cleaner. See if anything's clogging your sd card and / or /data/ partition up, and clean it.
Also use swap enabler to move apps to sd-ext (I wouldn't recommend memory swap though) this noticeably and immediately speeds my G2 up.

Right, unfortunately CM does not support a swap partition as far as I know.
Somebody knows a kernel, what can be flashed in CM7.2 to support swap?

Of course it does. Check if you have an sd-ext partition, if you don't know then you probably don't have one, in which case backup your SD card onto your computer, reboot to recovery and select partition SD card, wherever that may be. You don't need a swap partition, and if you have room I would suggest having a 1.5GB SD ext, although 512MB is fine for me.
Now put all the data back onto your SD card which you backed up to your computer earlier, if you get errors then don't copy over .android_secure, Android, and data folders (along with any other .folders / hidden folders).
Now reboot to recovery and flash swap enabler select skip data swap and SD swap but enable sd-ext, it should give you happy messages about it working and then you can reboot. You'll notice you'll have an init.d script and your apps will have moved to SD ext. If you don't like it, just flags swap enabler again and remove it, it will move your apps back for you.
This relies simply on an init.d script as I said, which literally just moves and binds /data/app to sd-ext, don't worry about kernels or anything.
By the way, I would upgrade from Gingerbread if I were you.
Also, if you're only getting 3500ish in An tutu, there is a problem because I get over 3700 at 768MHz in Andromadus CM10.1
I just used SDmaid's "corpsefind" function. After deleting files, my Chinese dictionary didn't work, ADWlauncher crashed and wouldn't come back up, and when I reboot the system was screwed up and needed to be restored. It's a bit too agressive in "cleaning" the system. It deleted files that were still in use by installed applications.

It shouldn't, it usually just gets rid of databases left behind by uninstalled apps. If you're getting these sorts of problems you really should do a full clean install, maybe try some different ROMs.

If you don't know how to disable it, you most likely have never enabled it, so that cannot be the problem.
To enable or disable compcache, open a terminal emulator and type:
su
compcache.sh enable (or disable)
Compcache reserves a portion of RAM for a compressed cache. It improves performance for some people, but sometimes causes problems with recognizing the SD card.

thanks for guids, it's worked!!! sorry my stipped problems... THANKS again to all!
Hm ... read the docs, but it seems some are out of date the second they're posted ... kind of confusing an utter newbie to TYTN II Android. So far I managed to upgrade the radio to the newest (71 something), download the above latest VOGUIMG-etc kernel, installed python 2.7, ran atools ... but that's where it gets very confusing ... even with that nice doc, that says how to run it (complete with all the androidinstall.tgz bits, which I could not locate and unsure if necessary) ... I'm a bit at a loss. is all that extra stuff something special, or is it enough to just set device to Kaiser with atools, select the screen, define a battery size of 1350 ... and that's it? I'm rather confused by the docs at that point.

yes, just set devise to Kaiser, select sreen & keymap
Yup, all seemed to have worked ... Android is running on the TYTN now ... I went with the Fat Free Froyo build from thoughtlesskyle (thanks btw!) and it seems to have installed ... i do not yet have these blue screens displayed in the builds thread ... but so far I'm impressed, that it runs at all.
Btw: The screen produces some sort of white noise, when you wake the device from standby ... that is not a real problem, but a bit ugly. Is that the result of a wrong panel setup in the kernel?

Noise and a white screen for some milliseconds just before home loads... Yup, same for me, even though its not a big deal, for what i've searched it's a really common issue on some panel 2 systems... i've changed it to 3 though and still the same issue, i've tried different kernels, builds, and configurations and had no luck, if you got more luck than me i'll appreciate you notice me!
Not yet ... but I got new errors. Loads of "The application Calendar Storage (process.....) has stopped unexpectantly. Please try again" errore for various apps etc all of a sudden. I wonder if it is because I run kernel 2.6.32 and read somewhere, that it corrupts data? I'll try a downgrade to kernel 25 then or so...

welcome to the CDC! (corrupted data club) ....if you installed a deodexed build prior ANY use or config leave your phone alone for at least 15 mins, reboot (not using the soft reset, power off then on again) and then u can mess with ur brand new andriod OS, and yes try to use l1qu1d's latest .25 kernel, it wont stop freezes and FC (force closes) but may improve chanses of not having them and avoid data corruption on freezes... devs are working really hard to stop this but isn't that simple, im not too sure about the exact problem, its something refered to the index in the file system that is not working over NAND instalations, dunno really.... for the moment all we can do is keep a /data backup to restore it. Reminds me the times when I used Windows Me OMG that OS sucked!
Yeah Well ... I went to 2.6.25 now ... but I got other issues .. after a while it kind of locked up. After a restart, you cant start anything more or less, everything just gets the "app closed unexpectedly" error .... and it asked me again for google account setup etc. Plus, sometimes, the SD Card seems just to vanish. /data seems to be empty now ... at least it seems so with the astro explorer.
not sure what all of this ... atm Kaiser Android's a fun thing I guess, but hardly usable. But I can wait if logs or so help the devs, I'd like to know, I'll happily send whatever report.

I saw once that it was detect the sd card, but with unmount -> mount it's recognized.
The /data folder is also empty.
Does someone knows why the /data is empty (not mounted)?

oh my loyal donut with .25 kernel... (thank u warbyte!!) i can use my tilt for weeks without a single freeze just a couple fc's once in a while! I guess ur sticked to froyo releases and newer kernels so expect a little less stability but look at the pros... froyo is a lot more compatible with newer apps, things are getting really fast with those newer kernels and in a not so distant future (hope so!) they will become more stable

FroydVillain 1.7.0
This bit's the introduction. If you're not interested in who we are, or how we got here, or are of the TL;DR mentality, then skip this entire section.
Well folks... It's currently snowy here in Scotland. Got an email to say not to try and commute in this morning, as everything was off, so I set about thinking about things to do I did some work, and then decided it was time to get something out based on CyanogenMod 6.1 (pretty much final) for the hero. Based on the last nightly, here we go...
I applied the usual tweaks to it, as this seems to be a pretty good ROM. And the best bit, no wipe required (though it's still a good idea if you can be bothered) if you are coming from FroydVillain 1.6.x. If you are coming from ANYTHING ELSE, it is required. Maybe some other ROM will work with it, but I have no idea, and don't really want to know So if you have trouble and didn't wipe, please wipe before asking for help. Let me say it again...
If you have problems with the ROM or apps or anything else for that matter, go do a wipe before asking for help. It's the first thing you'll be asked to do anyway, so save yourself the time and get a faster answer
This is based on CM6.1's nightly, which I think is meant to be the stable release for the Hero. It's certainly stable enough for my liking
As for what's new/fixed, look at the CM6.1 changelog.
Overscrolling works, apps that whined about the version string should work now, and there's a new call screen from CM that means you don't put people on hold with your ear, when on a call. Plus everything else from Cyanogenmod that got fixed or improved
Before I go onto the ROM, I would like to thank a fair load of people. First of all, all the Cyanogenmod developers. Without them, this ROM would not exist. Big props out to them for their excellent work. Next, the VillainROM developers, including Ninpo for his ARM optimisations in CM6.1, Kendon for his usual behind the scenes scripts and time in setting things up, DMzda for his dedication in helping me test this ROM in the latter stages, MikeBeecham for his artwork and designs used throughout the ROM, HomerSp for his help taking Mike's bootscreen to life, and everyone else who has been there helping... Particular thanks must go to Shen for helping me get this build out to you while I have been so busy recently. Also, big thanks as usual to Lenny, NPRussell, Mike, RaiderX, RichardTrip, Acolwill, Alankila and sorry if I forgot anyone. Their contributions have been too numerous to mention. But this ain't an Oscar speech, so I must stop now.
Finally big props go to Erasmux, whose FlyKernel 11c has been tweaked slightly for performance. Details of the tweaks below...
So here we go...

Before Reporting Bugs/Errors/Problems/FCs/etc...
In order to help people sooner, and reduce the number of repeat reports, please observe the following before reporting a bug along the lines of "GPS is broken, HTC_IME mod FCs, it won't boot, it's slow, it's got poor battery, this breaks..."
1) Look in post 2 for any updates. Flash any with a version number, there's no need to flash optional ones unless you want to.
2) Search this thread for a keyword. eg. if gps isn't working, search thread for "GPS". If apps are missing from market, search "market". See if it is fixed, or already reported.
3) If there is no patch or fix, turn off the phone, remove your SD card, and boot the phone with no SD card. Does issue persist? If you need a memory card to test the bug, use a blank, freshly formatted spare, with just one partition.
4) If this cures the problem, you need to clear out your SD card. Back up your apps, and wipe apps2sd partition if you use it (Wipe EXT from recovery). See if problem is cured (with SD card inserted in phone). If it is, stop here, and enjoy the ROM.
5) If issue persists after removing SD, turn off phone, insert SD, boot to recovery, nandroid, wipe Data, cache, Dalvik cache. Reflash ROM and all patches. Turn off phone. Remove SD card. Boot.
6) If issue is solved, try with sd inserted now. Looks like you just needed a wipe. If not, please report the bug using the usual procedures. Mention you got to "step 6" with no resolution.
This will alleviate about 80% of bugs, I would estimate, allowing me to work on the remaining 20% not cured by this.

This rom is NOT MIUI, nor is it based off of MIUI!!!!
Please take a bit to explore it, and you will find some awesome features unique to this rom/os.
some unique features include:
*The neat thing about this utility os, is that individual apps (contacts, launcher, ect) can be updated separately, and you are notified when thay are available, separately from the base os.
*Has tons of battery saving options.
*Beautiful ui
*Tons of options that make using this os a joy
*Make and restore backups of contacts, texts and phone, anytime, anywhere. From the cloud or your tab
*Very fast and super responsive
*uses BOCA MSI kernel (see post #3 for kernel features)
*select individual themes for each contact/message
*record your own alarm
*so very much more!!

DO NOT DO A SYSTEM UPDATE THROUGH THE ROM!!!!!!!!!!!!
You are free to update anything individually, just not the whole system.
If you see these images, do not update:
Install Instructions
For Coming From Any Rom That isn't BOCA, MIUI or unofficial port based off of CM7 (Teks)
(see below for those instructions)
As you all know, when switching from rom to rom, something called a safe stock re-partitioned is very much preferred, almost required. Even more so, when jumping from roms with different os bases, example is going from a 2.3 based rom to a 2.3.7 (or reverse).
You need to do this process to kinda bleach out anything that remains of the old rom, as many times these arent properly cleared through a recovery erase, and can leave behind bits and pieces that can, and frequently do, disrupt the next rom you try to run. This is never a good thing, as it can cause anything from a bootloop to mysterious ghost like behaviors. Not to mention many things many not work correctly in your new rom.
Team Overcome has created, or basically repacked a way to do this. Many thanks!!!!
TeamOvercome website HERE
1) Go to Overcomes website, and download a zip called: ROM | 001001-GB-Stock-Safe-v5
(this is the base, non branded 'official' release of Gingerbread from Samsung. Overcome has made a few modifications to this file, and added Odin, modems and Samsung SGT driver installer to the zip)
2) While at the Overcome site, also download a zip called: KERNEL | 002001-Overcome Kernel V3.3.1 (TAR)
(this is a kernel made by AB, with some nice work done to it. But what we need it for is to convert our system to ext4. It will not run BOCA)
3) Unzip the GB-Stock zip, and open it up.
4) Open SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones_x86, and run it. This will reinstall, and clean up any old drivers for your tab.
5) plug in your tab when done, and let you computer fully install you SGT's drivers. Once its finished, unplug your tab.
6) Unplug any USB devices from your computer, & Open Odin3_v1.7, once it opens, plug your tab back in to your computer, in download mode.
Under ID:COM, a yellow window should now state your tabs is connected.
7) Place gt-p1000_mr.pit inside the PIT slot, PDA slot, place: GB_Stock_Safe_v5.tar
8) Make sure Re-partition, Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time are checked, press start.
9) Once finished, and your tab has rebooted, press reset in Odin. On your tab, skip through all the setup options, and reboot into download mode.
10) Plug your tab back into your computer, and place: 002001-Overcome_Kernel_v3.3.1.tar into the PDA slot, and press start.
11) Let your tabs sexy robot voice convert your system, once done, boot into recovery, clear everything, go to zip installer, and choose BOCA from your SD card. Let install, and then reboot.
12) As with ANY rom, please do a full battery calibration with the included apk, ASAP.
13) Enjoy BOCA!!
INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS
(For when coming from BOCA, MIUI or unofficial port based off of CM71) Boot into your current recovery and clear dalvic cache, cache and user data/factory reset
2) Go to zip installer and choose BOCA from your SD card
3) Boot into BOCA, and reboot again.
4) As with ANY rom, please do a full battery calibration with the included apk, ASAP.

I also ported/booted up the ics version of this os. And also ported the LiGux rom/os on the tab.
Both currently have 3g but no wifi - YET!! wifi should be pretty easy to fix.
Ics dx version needs quite a bit more work. Is a bit, uh, unique.
They definetly took a different approach there!
The LiGux os/rom, I dont think is worth continuing on, so i stopped.

@all
i realize there is a descepency between the test release and this one, in terms of speed and smoothness.
I am fixing it, please dont let my mess up ruin your thoughts on this os.
As testers will tell you, it really is a very snappy rom, snappier in some aspects than BOCA RC1!
hi dizgustipated, this rom is awesome and beautifull

Can I use Overcome Kernal V 4.0.0 ?
Went to the official website and browsed the chinese version. Are we using the 1.0 or 2.0? Can't really seem to find the download link for it tho. Their app is equally interesting too.
I read from the link in the OP that ICS is available already?
This is surely an interesting ROM to try, I could probably help with translations if you need any.
Cheers!

this is not a samsung stock rom. Its based off aosp.
no overcome kernel. An aosp cm7 kernel is needed

Really really really nice rom and idea...but it is very very laggy by now! Even at 1.4ghz Lagfree!
I'll wait an update as soon as you can and I'll use it anyway as daily use to explore the rom! Thanks diz!!

I can send u the original test version.
That one really flies!
Again the lag is my fault.
On test run even browser was smooth
and i blew out my 3g data using netflix. Was smooth, but hate tmoble and the way they slow your data down to basically edge if you go over 5 gigs. So annoying!!
Lag and rom speed is almost fixed and back to the tester speed.
Unfortunately I really need wifi, because of my stupid sim card that does not want to work anymore! So I'll wait your progresses...as usual! ;-) thanks again!!

Testing, then a new kernel release
Hi Diz!
Thanks again for another great rom to try. Just FYI as I noticed that someone had asked. I was on your Boca 2.3.7 and had to change back to stock 2.3.6 because I couldn't use my phone/internet at the same time. Not sure, but I think AT&T was blocking it as it was listed as being a tablet in the description?
Anyway, I rooted using Superoneclick(had to manually reboot and manually add busybox and superuser, but I got my root back. I then used Odin to flash Overcome Kernel version 4.0.0 so that it would put Clockworkmod onto SD card so I could backup the 2.3.6 Samsung software.
My point being, I was able to use Overcome's kernel to flash this new Boca DX. I know you said to use CM's but being the daring flashaholic that I am, I gave it a whirl. I have always been a fan especially since purple is my favorite color. I am one of your contributor's and appreciate all that you do to keep things exciting and new!
Have a great day/night!
using overcome kernel to run CWM recovery is not the same as running it as the OS.
Hello all, sorry to open such a thread in Dev section,it's only temporary and to be deleted as soon as it's stated useless by your reports or by moderators but i think there's a general issue with /datadata partition on CM10.1 based roms and i'd like to see things identified as soon as possible.
Question is simple:
If you're then on a CM10.1 based rom, approximately post 05/12,could you check you're /datadata partition and report if it is empty/unused?
"Chances" for that to happen: Having done a factory reset after 05/12 and not come no wipe from other rom than CM10.1 sources based ones (so not coming from Pawitp's aosp preview as /datadata works fine with it,only cm10.1 sources based roms).
Thanks for help.
Since that I am Helly Bean (base CM 10.1), I have never made of factory reset, however, my "datadata" folder is empty. I don't know when and how, this has begun!
Otherwise, all works correctly, it's good, fast and smooth... Go to understand why!
Try to use "df" command in terminal emulator, and check used space of /datadata.

/datadata is a protected folder. You can't view its content with a simple file browser. You must use a root file explorer.
Viewed using Root Explorer. My /datadata seems to be fine. Tictico might have a point.

Lame , you can see that Franzyroy has run the 'su' command already which allows complete root access to that app.
Also , I tried Hellybean 2012/12/08 today and my datadata is 8.5MB used , but it is empty inside.
If 4.2 doesnt use datadata , then maybe Fishears build without datadata and 1.8GB /data is actually beneficial, as we get extra space for apps without losing speed.

I was wondering what point but i got it now,no i'm used to that stuffs and not just reporting my own issue,it's just that i see many concording reports here and there and see peoples complaining about lags, reflashing, wiping data again thinking it's a specific rom issue and not knowing why their device COULD be laggy (not every phone acts the same with /datadata></data/data symlink broken).
Reports must come with little background please, the main point is "wiped data at least one time since approximately 05/12?"
By the way there's is two Beast rom 12/07 builds, yours is 4.2.1?

Indeed as Fishears build doesn't use any /datadata partition it is not concerned but i don't think it will be 4.2 on sgs cm10.1 way.
It seems to have seen a Rom without datadata folder, I was wondering why, but I haven't reported it. I won't know to say which it was!

I always flash with full wipes of /data , /datadata , /cache , /system , and I dont face any lags with Hellybean 05/12 or 08/12 . Also , I tried GNex 4.2 ROM by Elite F7 build, no lags .
Without wiping from CM10 , there are some lags , but they are easily solved by only cache , dalvik cache wipe.
All is well on my end. I use CM10 daily , but will test Hellybean 08/12 from tomorrow in order to find lag issue, if any. Will report findings.

You may not face any lags with unused /datadata partition, check Fishears thread to know that first:
fishears said:
So, Is this ROM right for me?
If you have the fast iNand then, yes, because you'll get more data storage space with no loss of speed If you have the MoviNand then maybe yes, maybe no. My advice is "Try both".
To see which Nand you have look at the following file in a text viewer:
/sys/devices/platform/s3c-sdhci.0/mmc_host/mmc0/mmc0:0001/name
If the content starts with "S" then you have iNand. If it starts with "M" then you have MoviNand.

And even if as me you're on MoviNand you still may not face any visible lags on your device, mine does as many others,a choice has been made on cm10 to keep using /datadata as it was the better solution for the majority of users.
Keep using /datadata + lvm for best performance/storage balance for majority.

That's why,at least the main reason.
Fishears build could be a good choice for you if you need more /data space (among others things like following a cool dev and enjoy rom's specific features and all...)

No good in theory If you're not feeling lags on the rom you are then don't worry.
Wich rom btw?Helly user too?
For now i tested 3 rom with same behavior,Helly 05 and 08/12,Mackay 08/12 and matt73300's 05/12 unofficial build.
the pixel xl is now 3 years old. i've had mine for almost that long. just a few months shy of 3 years and it's starting to show its age. the performance has started to degrade noticeably. the phone is less responsive. it may take a second or two to respond to a tap. apps take longer to load and my battery is draining faster. i used to be able to go a whole day without needing to recharge. not anymore. i charge my phone overnight and now only make it to late afternoon, before having to charge it again.
i'm running the october android 10 update and magisk 20.1.. i did a factory reset when i flashed the update.
how is everyone else's performance at the 3 year mark?
My total usage with the marlin will be three years soon but the particular device I am using is basically 4 months old as it was replaced by google, so I can't say exactly what changes are to be found on a three year old device. But my previous marlin (which was replaced) was more than two years old and I can say that performance is affected when the battery is old. I mean with a new battery the phone performance feels much more solid than running it with an old battery.
If you are considering upgrade probably hold off a bit more till 4a release or just get the 3a. But in spite getting good deals on the 3a I didn't get it as I didn't find it to be a proper upgrade from the OGP.
My pixel xl is doing okay
Updated to android 10, Replaced the battery, Installed some magisk modules and installed a custom kernel. Scored 222k in antutu and scoring only 143k without changes. The magisk modules and custom kernel has significantly helped the phone perform more and i would say could last a year or so.
Although battery wise i think android 10 has some issues with it 4.5hrs SOT tops don't know how to make it better in any situation it always ends up with 4hrs sot. I'll try clean install android 10. Any tips to make this batter last longer?
Replaced battery on mine totally stock and see 0 issues
thanks for the replies. sounds like replacing the battery is a good thing to try. for those of you who had the battery replaced, did you do it yourself or have a shop like ubreakifix do it? the ifixit guide for battery replacement makes it look difficult and scary.

I replaced my battery on my own probably 4 months back. My advice is to really take your time with removing the screen if you intend to reuse the screen (I didn't reuse the original screen but did not damage it anyway). Try to find a corner which seems to be looser so you can insert a playing card to cut through the adhesives but also be mindful how much you push the card in (the ifixit guide is on point here, stick to this and your screen should be safe). It isn't overwhelming difficult, I used a hair dryer to heat up the adhesives instead of a heatgun and it worked too. Just be patient and only do it when you have ample time.
Like others have mentioned, with a new battery the phone does less a full day unless you game heavily or use the GPS a lot. As I use a 128GB XL, the 3a with 64GB doesn't really cut it. Really hoping that there is a 128GB option for the 4a.

Sure, the magisk module that mainly optimizes my phone is NFS injector (currently running at balanced) and GPS optimizer for well location ( having issues with location since android 10 it fixed it), If you want performance you can always change to ultra in NFS.
I use ElementalX kernel and Kernel Auditor, for some reason ElementalX wont dim My screen properly so i had switch. Lastly i don't think i have used F2FS i just simply don't know how.

Thanks. Twrp.me said it haven't support android 10 yet, and which ver of TWRP you are using now? I searched on Google, people said with ElementalX kernel, you only just format Cache and Data partition to F2FS. If you want to keep data, backup Data partition before change to F2FS and restore after.
