I've Googled this and not found anything I could understand. debuggerd.bin is asking for root permissions. What is it? Ive never seen it ask on any of my other devices, apparently it's something to do with the Android OS. Why is it asking for root? Should I allow it? I am running MOAR v 1.1.
Any insight is greatly appreciated!

I can't say for sure but I've never seen it before. Definitely suspicious. I'm going to take a shot in the dark and say you don't have supersu pro. Noww is Def a time when full logging would come in handy
I set it to log the debuggerd.bin and rebooted. Now its not using the access. I had JUST rebooted from a permissions fix when it asked for the permission and I posted this. I am at a total loss here.....

If you dont know what it is, dont give permissions. If you find that any app is acting wonky, still dont give permissions and see if uninstalling that app removes that file asking for permissions
Sent from my PG06100
I have since denied it permission. Think I'll post about it in the ROM thread. Maybe someone there can shed some light on what the heck it is or why it would be asking for root.

Hi.
I have a SGS2 with the same issue.
Here post the sequence of the petitions (not all, sorry)
- lsof
- sqlite3 .....(sorry i couldn't write it down)
- netcfg
- iptables -L -nvx
- ip6tables -L -nvx
- iptables -t nat -L -nvx
- ip6tables -t nat -L -nvx
- wpa_cli list_networks
- ping -c 2 -i.5 192.168.69.1 (using Connectify)
- cat /data/system/packages.xml
- cat /proc/28115/maps (the 28115 changes to 17859 in the next sequence)
I know that isn't the sgs2 forum but for information: I used NeatROM Lite LS8 4.1.2 rom, with Dorimanx 7.46 kernel.
More information: Yesterday I installed CrossBreeder (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2113150). Inside the zip I see the script "install_debuggerd.sh", but i don't know if this could be the problem.
Thanks and sorry about my english
Hmm. Those lines are exactly what it's logging on my S3. I also am running CrossBreeder. Now we know what's up. Time to visit that thread.

Yes. They are link2sd commands. Do you have any other lag apps or mods? Seeder? I can confirm it was Crossbreeder for me. I denied and forgot debuggerd.bin and installed the new version of Crossbreeder with the fix and debuggerd.bin has not asked for permissions again. But you are correct that link2sd uses the same command line for what it does. I also use link2sd and have not had this problem with it. Try going to that thread.

I tried to compile this multiple times but there was no way to include the libs in the binary (like the config option for busybox). Now its here and I'm pumped.
Some of you who use linux might know what this is. The instructions say to place it on the data partition in androidterm's /data/data folder (settings/cache of installed apks are here). I went ahead and placed it in /system/xbin...
What can this do? Its like wget but you can use a cookies file to dl from places like hotfile.. resumable downloads.. and best of all.. multipart downloads.. it also handles torrents, but I have no plans to use that function.

I have no idea why froyo appears in the zip file.. but since it has nothing to do with android (java) and more to do with the underlying linux system its safe to say that this works with all versions of android that have term emu.
I also compiled unrar binary for arm and it works with no problems.. this aria2c build just so happened to say froyo in it.
Btw. I too am on CM7.
Sweet. Thanks again.

No problem. Heres the unrar binary.. It seems to be faster than the gui version in the market.. It also has the added benefit of being able to extract from and write to anywhere you choose..

This is fantastic, I was just thinking today that I wished aria2 were available for ARM
Thanks for posting this.
Ok for anyone hesitant or having trouble getting aria2c to start a multipart download. Here's an example.. downloading a 720p trailer of captain america.. and attached is a picture of the madness that is hspa+
aria2c --split=80 --min-split-size=1M --max-connection-per-server=16 --user-agent="QuickTime/7.6.2 (qtver=7.6.2)" http://trailers.apple.com/movies/paramount/captainamerica/captainamerica-tlr1_a720p.m4v

Btw.. I couldn't rotate the pic.. as I'm on my phone.. hence the pic itself.. not at a computer to rotate it right now.. I'm sure you'll all suffer a little from tilting your heads.. sorry
And now...p7zip for android.
http://home.comcast.net/~ibladesi/p7zip.tar.bz2
This is a bzip2 tar file.. uncompress in the system directory and it will extract files where they need to go.. otherwise you'll end up with two directories.. xbin and lib..
So. Mount system as rw
mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p25 /system/ -o remount
cd /system/
cat /path/to/file/on/sdcard/p7zip.tar.bz2 > p7zip.tar.bz2
#the above is used versus 'cp' to avoid retaining sdcard privs
tar xjvf p7zip.tar.bz2
Try it out! It extracts and compresses many file types.. more flexibility than the default busybox unzip too. Has a benchmarking mode so you can see just how terrible your phone is against your computer.. and.. Still can't get the rar module to load.. but I think its there.. rar as in compress!

Do u know if its a universal script or meant for evo or meant for a different phone. Pretty much which forum did u get it from. Cause from the looks of it u don't have the directories that its looking for.
Also some scripts don't get rum by the user. It gets put in init.d folder and runs on its own at boot.

fixed..............
Here is a quick guide that is PRETTY reliable by ET4G
-------------------------------
This for now is for aosp/ maybe touchwiz.......
-------------------------------
First things first
Find a Base From and The From you want to port......
----------------------------
Make sure these devices are extremely similar or else you have to do framework edits/resizing and other stuff
So if you want to port use something close for the epic
Like international sgs2
------------------------------
Next.....
Go into system of from you plan to port......
And take the
System/apps
System/framework
System/fonts
And system/media
And replace the same files in the base from for those......
SO AGAIN MOVE THOSE FILES FROM PORT TO THE BASE
----------------------------
Next .......
Go into xbin and replace su
----------------------------
Next.......
Go into libs and replace
libandroid_runtime.so
*****Also make sure you dont mismatch your libraries....easiest way to make an unstable rom(they must be built to match eachother)****
----------------------------
After that......
Go into build prop with Linux or windows if using windows get the program notepad++
Change the
ro.build.id
ro.build.display.id
ro. build.incremental
All to that of the port....
-----------------------------
Now go into updater script in
Meta-inf/Google/android
Nothing really has to be changed for now.......
If you would like to make it fancy
U can go into notepad++
And edit it
For example
Add a line in front of the first and type
ui_print("");
ui_print("");
ui_print("Whatever you want");
ui_print("");
ui_print("like your username");
ui_print("");
ui_print("info on the rom");
ui_print("");
ui_print("whatever");
ui_print("");
ui_print("");
Just make sure you don't write anywhere you want or replace something..........
Will result in status 6 or 7 error in cwm
--------------------------
Now zip up that file and flash.......
If the phone doesn't go past boot animation
Connect to PC while in animation
.......
Make sure you have adb and type
adb logcat d> logcat.txt
And a txt file will save to where sdk is located
-------------------------
If it says there is a lib missing in Debug
Just replace FROM PORTED AS WELL.....
--------------------------
And your good to go
-------------------------

Mismatching libraries is the number one way to make an unstable ROM.
Always make sure your libraries are built to match each other.

Would it be possible to port a SGS3 Touchwiz ROM? I would love to give that a try.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
hey guys
1. the base kernel should be fine
you shouldnt have to edit the ramdisk in aosp ports
2. this is a porting guide for aosp
Touchwiz maybe different porting steps but its always worth a try be careful

Hi all. Yesterday I installed my first custom firmware -- xelite gamer. . Really impressed with the performance of it over the stock Rom. . However I have 1 issue with it that I'm sure can be resolved... Root apps seem to lose their root permissions after a set period (about 15-20 minutes).. Then they have to reauthenticate their root permissions which is causing problems.. For example setxperia goes back to the default non-overclocked profile.. Gamekeyboard seems to stop working altogether until I tab to it and then back to the game.
How can I change (increase) the timeout value, or even make it unlimited???
Thanks for your help!

when you enter first time in app that need root, it'll ask you for permission and there is box that can be chacked, something like this "ask me again in 15 minutes" Just make sure that you didn't chacked that box and root time should be unlimited.

I uninstalled some of my root apps and reinstalled so I could check this.... Mine looks different:

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
So anybody else have another suggestion?
It's like, it remembers that they have root and never asks me again, but it also keeps re-authenticating every 15 minutes. There's got to be a setting. In my past experience with Desktop Linux, there was a way to change the sudo timeout so I wouldn't have to keep typing the password after the sudo command... This is pretty much the same thing.
Anybody?
Hm... Well since nobody knows, I just decided to install a different ROM. Still just as fast and no problems with the timeout there. If I ever figure it out I'll come back and post the answer in this thread in case anybody needs to know in the future.
Possible reasons:
-outdated busybox: install busybox installer from play store
-older su binary: from within Superuser app, update your su binary
Are you maybe using Doomlord kernel?
Or you can switch to SuperSU and see if it's working properly

Hm, no I was using Lupus Kernel. But I've switched to a different ROM. If I ever go back to the other one though (xelite gamer), I'll give it a try. Thanks!
So basically I'm rooted and Busybox installed trying to use XBMCTORRENT and getting the unmounted shares error
So trying to mount my remote shares using this command while adb shell and su:
mount -o noperm,unc=\\\\192.168.0.21\\putsharenamehere,username=putusernamehere,password=putpasswordhere -t cifs none /mnt/obb/nas
I get this error ermission denied
Also tried a lot of apps like CifsManager and Mount Manager but none of those worked either.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
