Any idea why its telling me these aren't compatible with my device? Is it just a case of waiting till they update them to work with 4.2?
Thanks and sorry if not in correct forum!

The dev probably hasn't listed the N4 as a compatible device yet.
Edit...I've sent you a pm.

You need to side load the apk. I don't want to be distributing apks in an open forum for obvious reasons.

+1 - I restored a backup (from my S3) of BBC Iplayer and BBC Media Player and they work fine on my Nexus 4. Only issue is video is not 100% full screen as the soft keys do not go away when playing video. I expect this will be fixed when the app actually supports the Nexus 4. It also seemed to have issues resizing properly when I turned phone from portrait to landscape, so I had to go back to iplayer start, put phone in landscape and then start video.
See thread here
A user has found that access to RAM is basically unrestricted in the stock kernel for exynos 4 devices, including our version of the Note 2.
At the thread there is a terminal technique to check if you are vulnerable.
Anyone on a custom kernel: If you could run the commands and post whether your kernel is safe or not that would be extremely helpful.
In the meantime, be extremely careful installing apps, as this bug requires no special permissions.

Installed the apk toggle on my phone.
Works, but fix will break camera. Use toggle to turn off fix and camera works again, just remember to turn back on after taking picture.
Running Jedi 6.1.1 w/ asylumkernel

Also everytime you reboot you will have to re-apply fix.
This is an interesting find!

It has been reported this breaks the camera on certain devices(gs3 and I believe the note 10.1) but not the note 2.

Just a quick sanity check here. You said installed. Did you run the app and have it 'fix it'. I can install and not have any problems with my camera just breaks after I fix it.
Would also be useful if we post what rom and kernel used so we can compare what works and what doesn't.
Thanks.

An OTA fix has been released for UK SG3s. That suggests progress, so hopefully our N2s won't be far behind.
http://www.engadget.com/2013/01/03/samsung-exynos-security-update/
I haven't looked at the link but if its what I think it is u can use the app to root also if those haven't been rooted and also patch the exynos. The thread I've read it did break camera if u where on the latest update but not the one before . I hope Samsung n Att release a update that will fix this for our note 2 soon just careless on their part that there is even a security hole to begin with.

Hey Ya'll, There was an App that would tweak google talk so it would allow video chat over 4G...But it doesn't seem to be working with the Note2...it tries and doesn't give the error but doesn't connect.
has anyone successfully done this on the Note2?
I tried this system: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1390818

I have posted in the ViPER4Android forum, but really hoping that a fellow Nexus 4 user who has V4A working on their phone can help me out.
I have pushed the V4AFX and V4AHiFi .apk files to /system/app and changed the permissions to rw-r--r--, rebooted, and loaded up V4AFX, insatlled the "CortexA8 with Neon" driver, rebooted again, but now I am stuck in a "need to install/update driver" loop where every time I load V4AFX it just tells me I need to install the driver.
I'm running Paranoid Android on 4.2.2 with AK/Faux kernel.
You should really have a backup before doing this.
Try entering safe mode with volume up on the boot animation, I do not know if this will work on custom ROMs but it is worth a try.
Out of curiosity, Where did you find Paranoid Android?

I know, I am saying that you still need to backup if you are doing anything which will do anything major.
I had a feeling that it used to be in that thread, can't they just make an other thread? :s

You don't need to have it as a system app. Have you tried just trying installing it as a normal apk?
So, after attempting it about a million times, I seem to have gotten it to work.. No idea how though, so if anyone else is having issues, I can't really help.. Sorry :\ This can be closed!

What is unclear about "It is not fully working. It still has graphical glitches when quick controls turned on."
Does anyone know if there is a way to get the AOSP browser to sync with Chrome bookmarks? Thanks in advance!

Could you download the file from the OP? No. The OP is only a link to a seperate thread where all is discussed.
Click link. Read thread. Know all. Took me around 20 seconds, all in all.
Some personal effort on a site like this can be really handy.
Edit: Never mind. It says flash zip from recovery.
