Does anyone know where I can download a stock UVLI4 odin image? I have searched everywhere on here and used my good friend google but the latest I have found is UVLE1. I tried that one but it only brought me up to 4.0.3 and I'm trying to go back to stock 4.0.4. I'm on the POS Walmart Family Mobile service and I'm guessing that it is messing with my update process because when I try to do an update to 4.0.4,it tells me that there is no updates available. If someone could please help, it would be most appreciated.
Have you tried looking on www.sammobile.com?

Kies is now showing the update but when I try to update, it'll go through the download process but then it'll go back to the main screen, rescan for my phone then tell me that there is a firmware update. I've tried both Kies and Kies Lite as non admin and running it as admin but it still refuses to update my phone.

I'm not sure if that's possible.. I have a feeling there are a lot of model numbers and identifiers that you don't have access to that tell Kies you have the Walmart plan, even if the software works fine with T-Mobile software. It would be near impossible to spoof kies into thinking you had a T989, at least to my knowledge.

kies is always a little funny to update it took 4 times when i did my friends phone he likes it stock n stuff but he doesnt know how to do it so i always do it for him but sometimes gives error and stuff you always have to be over 50% to do and still gives error it will work but if you dont mind doing it the other way its good to :highfive:

Hi guys,
New to this forum and i need some expertise from you guys. Tried looking all over online for an answer but cant seem to find one. Here is my issue, my phone is a T999v phone from wind but my carrier is mobilicity. I got the OTA push for the new firmware a week ago or so, i am able to download it but when it reboots to do the install the file goes corrupt and wont install and tells me to try through kies. The other issue i am having as of right now is that i am not able to connect to kies via usb which will do the firmware upgrade. Want the latest updates but it is seriously giving me a major headache. Any help is greatly appreciated.
thanks in advance.
Did you try installing the drivers for the sgs3 from Samsung's site (for your computer), reboot your computer then try going thru kies?

Kies never works for me, either. It's garbage anyhow, and there is no reason to install it.
Are you rooted? Do you have CWM or TWRP? Are you downloading the OTA over wifi?

No im not rooted...but CWM does pop up after my phone reboots to try to install, that is when i get the error message. tried doing OTA through wifi and carrier but doesnt work either way.
An ota from Mobilicity will fail on a Wind phone. You could possibly get around this by using mobile odin or maybe cwm. But i really dont know if its a good idea to try. The fw from each carrier would have to be very similar and i dont know what the differences really are.
If you do want to update via kies download the latest from samsung.com/kies but uninstall any previous versions an drivers first. Installing kies will also install drivers.
Alternatively you could download the full VLALH2 fw from sammobile.com/firmware and flash through odin or mobile odin.

Actually, you can use mobile odin as well. Cwm too im told, but i havent tried.
Ops problem im pretty sure is hes trying to apply a mobilicity ota to a wind phone.
But you are correct as to how it was intended to be used.

Ive never ran across this problem before with the s2 or 3. Im on the stock injected firmware and want to be able to get updates without having to odin back to stock or flashing a different recovery. How would one go about this? Sorry for thread jacking but figured others will have this question. Thanks.

The previous answers cover it. I went back to stock on my S 3 for the last official ICS update, but was really a WOT. Don't have to ODIN back to stock unless you want to run on stock.
You would probably see an Odin update (which will install the firmware and and Modem when a simple ROM flash would not) pretty soon after it is OTA'd, and you could use this and not have to have the hassle of going back to stock to get it. If it is not a complete ROM, you will have to be sure you are already updated to the firmware that the OTA would be updating.

Just checked SamMobile. They don't have SGH-I317M firmware.
PLEASE someone post a link to STOCK ROM, or MODEM, or KERNEL
I will highly appreciate it!
You'll have to get someone who is rooted to post a dump. Until the push an OTA update we likely won't have a firmware available. I know it is being monitored on Rogers. If you have different APNs or want a different company stock you will need to send them your info.
Watch on samsung-updates.com as well. Email them your info if you are on a different network. They respond very quickly.

If you can upload that would be great. I don't see the files for SGH-i317m
EDIT: Nevermind just found it. Do I just flash this zip with CWM?
EDIT2: Tried flashing with Odin but kept getting error. I guess I'll wait till there is a custom ROM flashable with CWM that uses the ATT version till I can get my radio working again.

if its the firmware from sammobile you'll need to extract the tar file from it. Then put it in the PDA slot in Odin and flash the tar.

"Good news tonight for AT&T subscribers, as a number of readers are now reporting that Samsung's update to Android 4.1.1 is now available for the Galaxy S III via Kies. We've reached out to the carrier to learn whether any specific improvements are in store, but it's not like we need to tell you that users will be immersed in the goodies of Google Now and the performance enhancements from Project Butter. Word from members of xda-developers reveals that the update weighs in at a substantial 738MB. For those keeping score, AT&T's update to Jelly Bean for the Galaxy S III follows previous deployments from Sprint and T-Mobile..." -Engadget.

You can also use mobile odin pro and enable everroot. If you maintain root, you can use goomanager from the market to install twrp recovery. Seems like there are a number of ways to do this, I just found this the easiest way.
I downloaded from samsungupdates sites and install de .tar file with mobile odin pro... and i kept root sou if u wanna be stock but keeping root i recommend you this way its easy!

So this can be used with Mobile Odin ?
if you tried to downgrade your phone back to an earlier version and soft bricked it after having upgraded your phone to the new OTA, Use the odin tar from here http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/3/?download=22379
flash that with odin 3.09 and you should be good. i messed up a customers phone because i didnt know about this stupid knox bootloader crap but luckily after tons of searching and bad tars, i remembered sammobile's site and used their tar image and boom its alive!
does your bootload still have knox or has it tripped it with this tar?
