Something happened to my rooted GS3 - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

Ok, I rooted my phone and it was running great. I was transferring some pics and apk files to my phone via Kies and then a pop up window said that there was an update. So I clicked on it and it started to upload its upgrade after a while it finished then my phone rebooted and it was loading an update then before you know it, it unrooted my phone and back to stock. I checked the Device Status and it said "normal" when I was rooted it read "modified"
Is this normal? it loaded a newer firmware and back to stock. I guess I have to root again.

You are not supposed to use kies for update when you are rooted. Seems like you are unrooted . Root again.
I wonder why you use kies to transfer file. You can simply copy and paste via file browser.

Thanks, I was using Kies cause Android File Transfer wasn't working my Mac. I don't know what to use for file transfer.

Tmobile software update is driving me nuts

it keeps telling me there's a tmobile software update, but when i try to update, it restarts the phone and goes into clockworkmod recovery and then i just exit back to the phone and nothing happens.
how do i update it or just turn the notification off?
Download 2.3.6 stock ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1391174) and update via odin. I did same thing.

You cannot updatee if you are rooted. If you dont want to update, I believe you can freeze the notification using BloatFreezer or similar. If you do want to update you can either (1) do so via Kies or (2) un-root and then update ota. Either way you will be unrooted and have to re-root
i did update to 2.3.6 when i received the OTA and I click update and realize that i am rooted (root using superoneclick). I let the update goes through and after few minutes, my sgs2 is updated to 2.3.6 with wifi calling and great battery life. I think i will stay stock rooted until Nick (dev for Miui vibrant) made Miui for SGS2
Edit: Like everyone said, every phone is not created equal. Like mine, got updated even its rooted

I tried an app called voodoo OTA rootkeeper, I got it to temp-unroot my phone but after a restart it went into clockworkmod recovery. i restarted it again and it went back into unrooted mode.
i also cannot find bloatfreezer on android market.

Need Help Rooting

Hey everyone! Like the titles says, I need help rooting my galaxy 3 for AT&T. I am on official 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and I am trying to root my phone.
I have used the same method before and it worked but I was on 4.1.1.
I put the SU.zip onto my phone and I then put it into download mode. I open Odin and check PDF and find the .tar file that I need to use. I find it and then plug my phone into my computer and everything is all good and then I click start and it just says check connection. I am using the official cord that came with my phone and I checked before to make sure that it worked with my laptop and it.
Any ideas on what I should/can do?
If it helps, I am using the galaxys3root.com tutorial and like I have said before, it has worked but when I was on 4.1.1 and not 4.1.2.

Easiest way I have found is to Odin flash CF-Auto root. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1963790
Thanks a bunch! Just a quick question though. It says that CWM and TWRP aren't included but I'm able to download them and put flash them later, correct? So I will be able to get custom roms?

That is correct. After you are rooted, you can download Goomanager from the play store to install TWRP or get ROM manager to install CWM.

After rooting and rebooting you got to go first to the play store and update supersu, after that supersu will run.

I have the same problem on XXUENA1, I downloaded the 4.3 rom with Mobile Odin, and checked the EverRoot option, now I get the security alert from Knox, and SuperSU doesn't open, and I can't uninstall SuperSU (I tried wiping from recovery, and even download the 4.3 image again using PC Odin, I still see the SuperSU app).
When I go to market to upgrade SuperSU, I don't have the upgrade option, only open (Already the SuperSU version installed is 1.93, which is the latest I believe?).
I tried rooting with CF-root and also in vain...
Any ideas?
Is anyone else having the same problem

I'm about to start using my Note 2 N7100XXUENA1 using a method I googled.
I'm sorry I can't post the link yet since I'm new and need 10 posts before outside links can be posted so try this hint.
The site should be nasirtech.blogspot (dotcom). That's specific to Note 2's with the XXUENA1 firmware.
I'll see if it works.
I got my phone in the Philippines from Globe and I think you have the same handset.
We could end up in the same boat if the method in the link fails to work but I'll give it a shot.

Hi dude, it seems the guide I followed actually works.
I saved the instructions in a Word Document to see if I could share it via dropbox (Since It's still my 5th post as of now).
Here goes nothing;
/s/mjd5sk2mqz9lgb5/N7100%20Root.docx
Just type in dropbox(dotcom) before the line above.
And another thing. Please tell me if that's the guide you followed, I'm suspecting that the CF-Autoroot that you are using maybe different from what I used.
Hope this helps.
First remove SuperSU from Application manager. If u can't then re-flash 4.3 from Computer Odin to get rid of corrupt SuperSU.
Downgrade from 4.3 to 4.1.2. I have done this with 100% Success
BACKUP everything. (Important)
Turn ON USB Debugging mode and Unknown sources.
First ROOT your phone.
(For N7100 Note 2 use CF-Auto root, here is the link
http://download.chainfire.eu/264/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-t03g-t03gxx-gtn7100.zip
NOTE: Knox and Binary Counters will get Triggered and your Warranty will be VOID.
Donwload CF-Auto root to your computer. Then boot your phone into Download mode. Open Odin. Connect your phone to computer. Click PDA and load CF-Auto root and click Start button. Let the process finish and your phone will reboot. You will see SuperSU icon on your phone).
Open Playstore and Update SuperSU. Open SuperSU and it will give a message to disable KNOX. Click YES/Ok.
Then install Titanium backup root from Playstore. Open it, go to backup/restore tab.
Find,
1.com.sec.enterprise.knox.attestation
2.com.sec.knox.eventsmanager
3.KLMS Agent
4.KNOX
5.Knox Notification Manager
6.KNOX Store
Go to each one of it and Uninstall them.
Next restart your phone.
*VERY IMPORTANT* Now Backup your efs folder by using EFS Professional on you computer (Link: http://d-h.st/Gfo ). Because your imei number will be changed after downgrading. You can easily restore it later.
Now install Mobile Odin Pro from Playstore on your phone. Here is the link.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.mobileodin.pro
*IMPORTANT* DO NOT flash firmware for downgrading with Computer Odin as it will NOT work and it will FAIL. *ONLY Mobile Odin Pro from Playstore will work.
Copy your 4.1.2 firmware to your phone. Next Open Mobile Odin Pro on your phone and let it download some necessary files from internet.
When done, click on Open file and select the firmware. After loading the firmware scroll down and UNCHECK EverRoot(because it cause problems). Then click on FLASH Firmware.
*IMPORTANT* If your phone get stuck on samsung logo. Go into recovery mode by pressing Home+Power+Volume UP keys together for 15 seconds. Click Factory wipe/data and then Wipe Cache. Then Reboot.
Now check your imei by *#06#. If imei is changed then restore it from EFS Professional.

On straight talk, dont have access to a computer! 5.1.1 update for recovery. PLEASE!!

I am on straight talk. I don't have access to a computer, so no Odin or Kies. I haven't rooted in years but I think if I remember correctly. I can use stock recovery for the update. Am I correct? If so could someone please get me the link to the correct file, and verify that. I should load the zip on root directory of internal storage. Then go to recovery mode and apply update.

I don't have an answer for you, but you may want to ask your question in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...mware-firmware-kernel-modem-recovery-t2942937
That thread has downloadable firmware (just beware that these are the Verizon OTA firmware versions, so if you update using these you won't ever be able to root the Note 4 if that ever becomes possible AFAIK). The firmware files are zipped, so you would need some way to unzip the files. The instructions (see post #3) are based on using Odin, but @hsbadr should be able to answer your question about doing the update from internal storage.

Unable To Root Device on Stock GB27 (4.1.2)

Hello there,
It seems that I'm unable to root my android device anymore. It started when I first used mobile Odin to flash my device to GB27. I rooted it using framaroot afterward, only to encounter an apparent update. I decided to accept but soon after it was done,I tried using a root access app but It told me that I have no root on my device,I checked and already tried to re-root it but was unable to. I used a file explorer app to look inside the root directory of the phone and found a folder of superuser files and other things that had to do with root. I tried to erase them but It did not allow me to. How can I fix this without using odin?
You can try this link.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1903252
It has a lot of the firmware for the sph-d710 in Odin files and one click flash. Without trying a different root app or adb I'm not entirely sure how you would be able to root without Odin or at least a pc. That page does has an autoroot.zip but i haven't tried it. Are you still able to use mobile Odin or are the root permissions gone?
