The application does not work for me in the MBP
Not sure why. I'm running it on OS X Lion and it works fine when I plug in my GNex.
Edit: You gotta make sure you open it at least once on your own. It will prompt you with the "This is an application from the Internet. Sure you want to open?" Dialogue. Click yes, and after that, it should open any time you plug the phone in.
Make sure on your phone that USB debugging is not checked when you want to use file transfer.

I have a GNexus and use an iMac as my primary computer at home and have been using the paid app iSyncr WiFi to sync music playlists from iTunes to my phone without any issues.
I've used iSyncr and its WiFi add-on component for quite some time now with multiple Android phones and have been very happy with it.
One thing to note right now is that the regular iSync app (which does its syncing via USB cable) is not compatible with ICS, so you'll have to settle for doing your syncing via WiFi. I've actually been in contact with the app dev and he's working on making iSyncr compatible but that version of the app is not yet available.

The dev for iSyncr updated the app in the market today and now both iSyncr and its WiFi add-on component are supposed to work with ICS.

Why would I want to pair my Samsung T.V. to my Samsung Epic Touch 4g?

Hello everybody, I have a question and I know there is a wealth of Tech wisdom on this forum. How can I benefit pairing my cellphone to my samsung t.v. set via bluetooth? I want to learn new things to do with my cell phone.

I'm guessing it has to do with options. I imagine not everyone has wifi.

yeah I used the remote app before. Works fine, has all the buttons the normal remote does. All of them don't fit on the screen though. You actually have to scroll up and down the remote from what I remember.

That actually seems really cool to me. Do all sammy tvs do that?

Allot of the newer ones do. Mine does allot more MINE. Dont even need a PC for the TV now.
I have a Panasonic viera plasma instead of a Sammy set and it works great from my phone. It uses wifi to connect instead of bt.
With Allshare, I can view pics and stream music but not videos.
Comes in handy because my couches tend to eat my remotes, the phone is always in my pocket
It looks like the general consensus is that bluetooth from the phone to the tv is worthless and wifi is way more useful.
If I helped you out in any way please thank me. Thanks.
I connected my phone to my google TV made by Sony. I can use it as a remote to control the TV but that's about it. I'm sure you could transfer files if you found some reason you needed to lol.

App to control Android phone?

I am wondering if there is an app to control our Android phone?
Like checking its status, missed calls, read SMS, battery status, etc.
From our Nexus 7....
Thanks

Still working on getting control of cell.
Well, it is obvious that there is no app like that.
Probably it's an idea for you developers to make it.
I don't really need to send SMS or make a call. I but just to see all the status, and check things.
AirDroid is nice if it works, I haven't tried it yet.

You can try our app, VMLite VNC Server, it allows you to view and fully control your phone from a pc, or from another device, using vnc viewer or a browser:

I can confirm this works well, and with the Jump Desktop app you get full touch control.
I've attached a screenshot of my Nexus 7 connected to my HTC Sensation.
Is there a way to use VMLite or any app like that over Bluetooth? I'd like to be able to tell my phone to turn on tethering while it is still in my bag. I'd rather not get caught doing it during class, since it's like 10 detentions -.-
Ubuntu for Android.
i bought the app and it works great over wifi, but is there anyway to get it to work over bluetooth? i'd like to be able to control my nexus 7 from my galaxy nexus when on my commute.. for changing music tracks etc..

SwiftLegend and micks_address,
Since both of you ask about bluetooth, do you mean that you want the same remote view and control of the device as wifi connection? We will definitely look at this, and update the status here.

one option to try about bluetooth connection is to check whether your devices support bluetooth tethering, if so, you can set network connection between two devices similar to WIFI.
---------- Post added at 01:08 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:00 PM ----------
ok, i just tested it, there is no need to use bluetooth to access between android devices, w/o 3g, w/o WIFI. Basically what you need to do is to turn on a WIFI hotspot on one device, then start vmlite vnc server on this device, it will display an ip address.
On your another device, you need to change WIFI to connect to your other device's WIFI hotspot id, then you run a vnc viewer to connect. It works very well from our testing.
There is no 3rd party app needed, pretty much all android devices support wifi hotspot.
if you need more info, please post.

Have you seen this?:

I am also thinking of adding a Record button to our vmlite vnc server, so you can record all of the mouse/keyboard events, and when you are in a hurry, you can simply push one button to accomplish recorded tasks, such as turn on wifi hotspot, etc.
not sure if this would help you during commute.
For SMS set up Google voice on your Nexus and ur nexus 7. ( works like a charm I can receive text and answer them from my nexus 7.
As for contyol I would like to hear more on this as I never have my phone to far away and on my commute home I have all my music on my phone and taking my phone out while i have my 7 out is to much.

Tablet talk

I can get tablet talk to connect and function perfectly on my n7 connected to my S3 via bluetooth, but it keeps disconnecting frequently via wifi.
I've changed ports to 8080 on both but still the problem persists. Would prefer to have wifi as the would be less drain on both my n7 and S3 that way.
Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

I used to use TabletTalk but since getting my Nexus 7 it never worked 100%. DeskSMS and TabletSMS from ClockworkMOD work perfect and wayyyyyy better.

DeskSMS
TabletSMS
Works awesome in chrome with the extension as well.
mysms has also worked well for me and is free. It will also sync as long as both are connected to the internet (ie you don't have to be on the same network).
I also connected n7 and s3 with tablet talk but when a SMS arrives it isn't synched with tablet and I don't hear notification sound in my s3 so I've lost a lot of SMS. Do you use s3 with stock or custom ROM??

I also use TabletSMS, this one is not depending on the devices to be connected to each other or even on the same network, i never got tablet talk to work the way i wanted, especially when i lost the connection i had to physically connect my phone to the tablet again using the connect button, nothing else worked, but this one works perfectly, always.
Works great for me. One of my top used apps on the Nexus7 . Use WiFi mode mostly but works fine using Bluetooth. Never have and issue synching it with my gnex on wither mode.

Have you tried SyncSms? It syncs your texts utilizing Dropbox or Google. Been using it a long time and it works beautifully. You'll need a network or wifi connection for your tablet. Learned about it on XDA as an XDA fellow created it. It costs a few bucks but worth it. Do a search and you should find it. Highly recommend it.

TabletTalk is different. Connect to your phone via Bluetooth and you can put your phone in your pocket and go anywhere and tTalk makes you like a phone. Connection to internet is not necessary nor is data.
I use Tablettalk all the time over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth all the time. The trick for me on Wi-fi was to put the IP address in the tablet to the phone. then it connects and stays connected everytime.. Just my two sense work..
Tablettalk is the cream of the crop.. works an dsome of the newer featrues coming will be great.. (p.s. Not i dont work for them. I just love this app)

Myphonexplorer client on phone and then install companion software on your pc. Works great on WiFi too. Awesome app I have been using for years. You can text, call from your pc and sync all your data and make complete backup of your phone to pc. Working great on my note 4.

I should have been more specific about what i was looking for. Airdroid connects, but i was looking for a more "remote desktop" type of thing, not just access to certain data on your phone. Airdroid has a built in way of doing this, but it says its not compatible with note 4. The standard Airdroid stuff is working.
