Hey guys !
I'm having some problems downloading apps on Google Play Store.
I'm using WiFi connection and when I download, it doesn't go higher than 30-50Kb/s instead of 1Mb/s I had before. I'm having also some problem with YouTube, videos take ages to load.
Is Google having some problems ? Because my internet speed is normal when downloading from another source, so it doesn't come from my internet connection.
I also tried on a Samsung Nexus S, LG Nexus 4 and HTC Sensation, downloading speed is the same (same wifi connection).

It may be because of a whatever2sd script. I had the same problem before, it was just because when you download an app I goes temporarily to /data/data/com.android.providers.download and if this directory is not accessible easily it lags. I have this problem especially with data2sd by jikantaru...
Maybe it is your FAI (French word, I don't know the English one) : for example Free and Google have problems with network speed.

No it's not from this, as all other phones have this bug and on computer youtube is also long to load. It's not a hardware problem, it must come from Google or something like that.

Yup no problem with downloading from a computer (steam games for ex), but Youtube is long to load. Everything using Google is slow.

Certainly it is a temporary problem of server, maybe your FAI tries to connect you to a far one so the network speed is low...

That's what I think. I hope it will be fixed soon.
AW: Google slow download
I faced the same problem when I installed an app yesterday. But 10 min later it was gone. :what:

I found why it is lagging. In France, SFR has some problem with Google, so it is normal.

Didn't know where to put this. I hope this is the right place.
Just an FYI. The XDA Site is crashing my Safari 4.1.3. I'm using an iMac G5 on OS X 10.4.11.
I have been surfing the site for a while now and just lately this has been occurring. Today is the worst. So bad the thought occurred to me that someone here may want to know.
Thanks!
10 June 2012:
I used an iPad at someone else's house today to try to access this site and it crashed Safari on it.
The ads on the xda developers website are a big problem, you cant get on it with a mobile browser it forwards to an AD page...

I was having a similar issue on my iPad (running 4.2.1), until I disabled JavaScript. Might give it a try on your end to see if it helps.
I figured it out.
I flushed my cookies and it worked
It seems to be caused by the setting the display mode to hybrid.
Hello there, anyone knows if the video for the new google talk works on our device? Or what has to be done to work?
Edit: it's found in the download section of rom manager along with latest gapps for gb.

This. Even if we managed to get it working, don't expect much from it (or any videochat apps in general):
-We have no GPU, so it would have major performance issues.
-We have no front camera, so it would have to be one-way videochat.
-The screen res is rather low, so, even without the above issues, video quality would be sub-par.
hello, sorry for my english, i'm french, so, after the ics update (mk16i) stock rom, it's impossible to connect pc over the wifi, with gb 2.3.4 we haven't this issue .
how to fix it please ?
To connect the phone to wifi ?
To connect the pc to wifi ?
To connect the phone modem ?
Typed down from the sky with sexy LT15i
no to connect phone to pc over the wifi, not with the wire usb .
it's possible on gb why not on ics? is it a bug? is it a downgrade to sony?
I use a program called myphoneexplorer it is a phone management tool, it installs a small app on the phone I connect to computer using this.
What are you running on computer vista or win7 both of these make connecting a walk in the park, win xp is s bit more involved

What are you trying to do exactly? Your question isn't clear as to what your goal is.
Sent from my LT18i using XDA
it's simple
with gingerbread we can connect the phone to the pc with the wifi, access sd card... synchronize contacts etc.... without cable
after the upgrade ics we can't
This should be in the Q and A section not general. Please post in the correct section next time

of course, sorry
i use airdroid and i wait the wifi connection to lan backing.
what about sony with this issue ?
I use WiFi File Explorer Pro and have no issues with transferring stuff from the laptop and vice-versa.
he wants to connect directly with wifi
smartphone - PC companion
yes that's all right
same issue here, this would be a big DOWNgrade from GB to ICS.
I used to use Texdro (Pro version) but recently not only has the dev fell off the earth, my PC software won't run... looking for the best way to control my phone (wifi, bluetooth, usb, doesn't matter), mainly for texting but full control would be nice for emails, etc.
What is everyone using or what do you recommend? (thanks in advance)
"My phone explorer" has always worked really great for me, and it is free

You can try Team Viewer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VLNdB6AapSE. I have not personally tried it though.

I have, and very useful. I installed it on my parents phones because they sometimes call me and don't know how to do something. I tell them to open the app and I log in and bam! I'm using their device
Link to app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teamviewer.quicksupport.market
This is the best app for rooted users
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.bbqdroid.bbqscreen&hl=en
it has more FPS and more fast as compared to Teamviewer.
not compatible with windows XP + TeamViewer gives me a late screen (2 to 3 seconds ! so i can't play games with it )
Any other apps cheers ??

I think he means a direct link to the phone, like the option on some newer TV models which have screen mirroring for using apps and playing games, rather than just taking control of the phone via remote clients which is usualy very laggy.
I think this would be a great option and theoreticaly it should be possible as PC systems are quite configurable.
Hardware Solution instead
That's what I use to either play games or watch youtube on normal TV oder PC monitor:
HDMI adapter
(No software solution indeed, more a solid one)

Works great for me one thing you will notice is that The quality will be slightly lower then on your device but your looking for a flawless stream. It's not choppy by any means but seems to be the best I have found at the moment. Great for games.
