So what would be the point of using this if I still have to use a second app to get full functionality? Much like the sliding messaging app, this one is just not usable if I have to have multiple apps to do the job of one

Then the mms features will work, it has a few extra files that need to be installed aswell. I tried but can not mod it to work on stock touchwiz due to the odex files. Maybe you can fix

Clearing data and cache did the job! thanks.. I can also confirm that MMS works with the last one you updated. It is different from the original version though.
Doesn't have emoji button next to the text input area.

Anyway you could make the incoming bubble the same as the outgoing for a modded version of this? i have no blue in my theme but am completely in love with what u did with this. much appreciated!

this is killer straight gosms style. loving it with the inverted gaps.

Is it not possible to use this with touchwiz jellybean roms? Tried using both milestone 7 and serenity 1.2. I copied this over and rebooted and it opens fine but as soon as I try to open a thread with an mms in it messaging Fc's.
Double checked permissions and tried fixing permissions. Ideas?

Just to confirm that I'm having the same trouble, too. Tried renaming in the zip before flashing, renaming after flashing, extracting the apk and renaming when installed manually. I still get an FC when I press the shortcut.
Can't wait to try this. I love the aosp messaging app.

change permissions RRR top line
add widget to any screen , click on new message in widget,
should work from shortcut in app drawer or home screen, from now on...

Also - out of curiosity did you get the group messaging to behave w/ SecMms? I tried it for a while but I couldn't get it to work the way I thought it was supposed to so I gave up - by that I mean I had no issues enabling the group messaging in the apk itself but how the group messaging messages were handled wasn't quite right. Just curious

Wow...works great! This is a must for those of us with gears. Having the screen turn on for no reason when I can read it on my gear was soo annoying.
So...you can delete the odex and apk files an replace them with the odexed version no problems?

I think you mean deodexed, but yes you can delete them. and replace odex with a deodexed file

Yes it does, it does all the things listed in the first post and there is a toggle to turn on message preview in settings :good:

I used Es File Explorer to paste it in.
This is an awesome app but breaks the connectivity with the Galaxy Gear. Has anybody been able to get it to sync with the Galaxy Gear?
