I feel like the Dolphin Browser is really slow on the stock ROM on Xperia Play. Anyone use it ? Or do people use other web browsers?
Thanks!

I'm using it on the stock ROM too. It is a bit slow, but it's the best browser for HTML5. It also randomly freezed and only a reboot fixed it, but this became less common on the newer versions. I still use it as my main browser though, not that much of a problem.
Very few slow downs, no FCs, no freezing. Stock .42 UK Gen.
Web browsing is slow on GB. I don't know what technology Dolphin Browser use, but the webkit engine on ICS and JB are much faster. However gaming is slower ofcourse.
I find it a very nice fast browser but i am not using the stock rom though.
Do you notice any diffrences when you install Dolphin Jetpack?
It's working a lot better now. Must have been an old version. Thanks all

I'm a fan of Dolphin browser; seems to have minor display issues with CyanogenMod10.1 though.
I use it if I need to use data from LastPass.
For now, I'm trying to get used to Naked Browser.
Other than that, I also have the following browsers installed:
- Firefox Beta
- Opera Mobile
- UC Browser
- Dolphin Browser beta (aside from the stable Dolphin browser)
- Naked Browser
2.3.4 GB stock rom
so far Dolphin is best browser imo but I've found the newer ver. of dolphin occupy memory and feel much slower.
i would recommend stay in old ver. e.g. 9.0.1
I used dolphin browser but I prefer opera mobile

using xscope, but dolphin mini seems faster/better to handle!
Honestly I've used em all. Nothing compare's to the speed and stability of Miren's, followed by dolphin mini
Stock browser is good enough for me.
I prefer Dolphin HD. I noticed that it loads pages a little faster than the stock browser. I also like the fact that I can actually 'exit' the browser as opposed to it continuing to run in the background.
I used Opera very briefly on my Desire Z and though it was amazing on my old Blackberry phones, I think Dolphin has it beat on this platform.
Whay do u think about DOLPHIN MINI?

I use the stock browser most of the time and think is the best out of all of them

I haven't tried Dolphin Mini. With the power of the Desire Z, Dolphin HD runs plenty fast and zippy for me

I prefer stock over any other
I use Dolphin HD. It's fast, I like the ergonomy (gestures, toolbars on both sides), it's multitabs, it can read Flash and has add-ons (I can easily switch between desktop and mobile views for example), web pages are automatically resized to fit the screen width when you're zooming.
It's just perfect!

Dolphin HD - hands down... I hate the fact that you never actually exit out of the browser for stock and all other 3rd party browsers... till then Dolphin HD is the way to go
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
I was using dolphin mini but I missed the notification bar I n full screen and have been using stock. Now I miss tabs. Any browser have both of these? I don't care about flash...
Miren > Dolphin
I used stock a long time, switched to Opera (since I liked it in WM) which felt heavy and laggy, moved further to Dolphin HD (which has been my daily browser for the last weeks), but am trying Miren again now. I really prefere it's UI, but I've earlier experienced random crashes when downloading etc... Crossing fingers now thought
/edit
DL'ing workes like a charm now May have been the "GB support" they added a few days ago...
So wrong about saying: i hate the fact i cant exit 3rd party browsers... download miren, press menu, presse exit and think hmmmm.... Then browse and see that its a lot better and less overbloated then dolphin hd...
I've tried Miren as some of you find it better and if that's the case it sounds logical to give it a try.
There's one dealbreaker for me: when I zoom in it doesn't resize the page to fit the screen. Have I missed something?

stock browser is best imho.
2nd is dolphin mini, if it had all the features of stock
3rd is dolphin hd, it's just too much though
4th is meh, who cares
Stock browser is my favorite but I use Opera and Miren sometimes because downloads sometimes screw up on file sharing sites. They never fail on Opera or Miren. Miren tends to crash on occasion and Opera is heavy on memory so stock still is the best for normal use imo.
What do you guys think the best browser is? The stock browser is good but one problem I found is that you can't download some files, like rar.
Firefox is another good browser in been using but it doesn't have flash player, which is a huge bummer.
What do you guys use, and why?
Hi,
I use skyfire 4.0 , just because it is straight forward
Others like Dolphin HD. personally i dont as when you scroll left or right a menu pops up - could be deactivated i guess !!. Dolphin also has gestures which is a great feature

I've used dolphin, miren and opra but Samsung stock is snappy and stable.
Thumbs up for Samsung Browser.

I have used opera mini and didn't like it, skyfire was good but stopped me downloading anything like apk's etc for some reason.
Now using dolphin and think its great
I use dolphin hd. Used it across 3 generations of android
Phones and still love it.
I would deffinately say dolphin browser is the best.

It has to be the stock browser for me, does what I need it to and the only one which gives iPhone level smoothness on browsing on android.

Dolphin mini for me. Streamlined version with all the bloat removed, everything just works in it and its blazingly fast.

Dam ..How did this one slip through the net lol
Very useful app dude..
i use dolphin as it lets me take off the notification bar, when i view video.
For me Opera Mobile wins. Full screen, extremely fast, super smooth scrolling, nice interface. Also, Opera always reflows the text, when using pinch to zoom, which the other browsers don't.
Boat Browser, not popular but really rocks
Stock browser works great. Only thing is I have to use opera mini for some websites.
Mini dolphin is pretty good also. I personally don't like dolphin hd.

LOL HILARITY ENSUES! For a while I've been wondering if this was possible and man, only because I'm interested in the SGS 2 I wandered in here and found this solution!
Thanks a lot!
Miren Browser. As fast as Dolphin Mini but with more features and less ugly than Dolphin HD. All the above mentioned just uses the phone's browser engine to render anyways so performance should be the same as stock more or less.
Use Opera Mobile occasionally because it's even faster than stock, but some pages don't render correctly and/or links fail.
Only use Firefox when none of the above work correctly with a website.
Do you have a cab file for that browser? Would like to try it, but can't find it in the Android market.

Which is the best PROVEN browser on Android? please give opinions also, I use xscope at the moment but is there a better one out there? I used to use dolphin mini but changed, what's the best?
Thanks
Sent from my R800i using XDA App
That will always come down to personal preference. Personally I like Dolphin HD, it's almost as functional as a full desktop browser and supports plugins
I Tried Xscope but it didn't let me manage my bookmarks into folders and Dolphin used to crash when starting up. Now I am using Opera which surprised me as I hated it years ago on symbian but its really good these days.
Gonna have to go with opera, myself. I particularly like that you can set it to use less bandwidth while not on wifi.

Opera Mobile does have Flash support & seems to be the fastest...Dolphin browser is good as it can get add-ons as our normal PC browser add-ons...
Easily answered: DOLPHIN HD
Will try dolphin

Bumping this thread... I used to have an iPhone (it was the only way of getting unlimited data in the UK at one point, shoot me :cyclops so outright smoothness in browsing means the most to me. I use an old version of Opera Mobile (11.10.ADR-1107051709) below... The hardware acceleration really helps. I think this site is legit, if not mods please remove... It has flash and you can set the user agent to "Desktop" if not other to other machines.
http://www.freewarelovers.com/android/download/temp/1310050386_Opera_Mobile_11.10.ADR-1107051709.apk
Opera Mini is the best for saving on CPU/battery and is fastest because the rendering goes on on the server, but 404 File Not Founds come back annoyingly on secondary Google hits.
The newer versions of Opera Mobile seem more choppy, and I can't stand the webkit browsers (everything else). On ICS webkit becomes hardware accelerated, but I like my games too much not to stick to GB.
I prefer Dolphin hands down. If not dolphin then the Miren browser

A bit of a bump, but I'm very happy with the new Opera Mobile (12.1.1). It's smoother than any other browser I'm aware of on Xperia Play + Gingerbread. The only problem is it takes a few seconds to start up (and you can get a "Application not Responding" during that sometimes).
I tried a couple dolphin crashed on startup for me alot but when it worked was great but I prefere maxthon stable pretty fast and simple

I use Dolphin Beta & stock browser.
Dolphin Beta has some minor issues that need to be fixed while the stock browser works fine but is missing a lot of features compared to other browsers.
try using dolphin browser with the dolphin jet-pack add-on, i use and its pretty fast.
i use the stock one ever since... especially in ICS the stock has been much improved!
If you want more customization, dolphin browser might be the one, otherwise, use the minimalist opera mobile.

Hi, I've been using Firefox since I got my Ion back in June 2012, but lately I feel it has gotten a lot slower and it went from crashing the home screen every once in a while to every time I use the browser. By crashing the home screen I mean forcing all the icons and widgets to reload once I exit the browser.
So I'm curious as to what browsers are you guys using now.
The stock browser is very good, fast and has some options
I use it with wifi networks. For 3G I use opera mini

Chrome is good because of connectivity with pc and syncing but it's kinda slow compared to dolphin or stock. And also chrome doesn't support fullscreen which is a negative for me.
Mostly I use dolphin and its really good and now there is a plugin for connectivity with chrome and syncing tabs between pc and phone. Whenever I am on 3g I use opera mini, it is really good with data usage and pages open faster because they are compressed.

Naked browser
I use ICS Browser +
Based on stock Browser, it feels lightweight and fast, but with many extras and an intuitive handling.
Those that say chrome, cos of the sync with pc, you do know the stock browser does that as well don't you? I found chrome And stock almost identical apart from a few ui differences

Was searching for a new browser but majority doesn't have flash player. Currently I'm on stock browser but it lag's sometimes though I don't push it to the limit, my XS is Overclocked to 1.73Ghz so it shouldn't lag, plus I free the ram before using browser, so if you know browsers that support flash please write.
Firefox supports flash player, and is a great browser for me.
Stock browser support flash, you need only install flash apk
