ok so heres the issue. I installed liquid smooths rom it is for my phone i triple checked it well after i installed it my phone got stuck in the middle of booting so i went back into recovery mode to restore from one of my back ups, well when i went to restore it said no files found and put me back at the main recovery screen so i went to try and zip a file from my internal and found that all my files including the CWM backups were some how put into a subfile, trying to figure out how to get my phone to read them so i can restore
any help please and thank you
4.2.1 puts your files in the 0 folder. Look in there and move them all when you leave a 4.2.1 rom for. 4.1.1 one

Hey all
Well I am having serious issues and am hoping for some help. I have been running Lou's senseless for a couple of months now (2.5.1.2 CWM) and loving it but I was intrigued with CM7 so I thought I would give it a try. In order to do so I had to update CWM to 3.0.0.8. I did so and flashed CM7 without issue. I was getting a lot of random FC after I installed my apps via TB (I mistakenly restored data). So being the bone head that I am I wiped data and tried to restore Senseless. Well, we all know that didn't go over too well. I performed a batt pull and restarted my phone but it just sits at the CM7 boot screen (I let it sit for nearly an hour).
So I figure ok, no problem. I'll just down grade to an earlier CWM. I downloaded 2.5.1.2 from Doug Piston's site, renamed it PM31IMG but it is no where to be found. I've downloaded it numerous times on the root of my card but when I go into recovery it's nowhere to be found. I'm dead in the water here guys. Please help.
For the record I am running an Amoled Dinc with HBOOT .92
Is your SD card formatted fat32? In order for hboot to read a file on the root of your SD it has to be formatted fat32.... check that and make sure plus make sure the file is named exactly PB31IMG.zip or it wont work? Ill check back soon

I just reread your problem files don't atomaticly go to the root when you download they go in a download folder .... you need to pull the file out of there and place it on the root which is the main area of the SD card not in a folder

Good morning,
After tinkering around with my S3 a little, I decided let me root it and try something new. Well during the rooting process for some reason or another the phone got stuck in a infinite boot up screen using certain ROM's. I've since been able to correct that issue, however my question is since my CWM recovery file seem to be corrupt when used to backup, is there a way to just extract the photos I have saved from that recovery file? If I use the full file I seem to get back the infinite boot screen issue, no matter which ROM I use. Thanks in advance for the help

You should be able to restore just the Data partition from the backup, which I believe should contain the photos.
What cwm are u using??

How do I go about this? I'm using CWM 1.85
Thanks
CWM doesn't backup or wipe /data/media which is where your sd card is mounted. Your pictures should still be there on any ROM.

I jus recentlt rooted my phone and flashed recovery mod and then flashed cm10 and it was working fine and still works fine...
the problem is that in recovery I wiped data and cache and dlvick or whatever its called.I followed the instructions to a t and it all worked fine..but when I went into my sd card info and it says I have 11.95gb and only 2.30gb available. ..I have 7.94gb in miscellaneous files...so I tried wiping again in recovery and flashed my original backup rom and everything works fine except for my big gb games like gta3 etc..so its like it wiped it all or moved it over somehow..how can I fix this? please and thanks!

Get disk usage from the market. It will show you the files using all your storage. It's probably your old CWM backups. You can delete your unused backups through CWM.

Best bet would to just plug your phone into your pc and see what is taking up so much space. if is misc data, i could see it being zip files and what not.
Or it could be if you flashed 4.2. 4.2 has this profile thing that is only for tablets but they just disabled the function for mobile phones. look through your directories to see if there is anything under sdcard/0/. if there is, make sure you take all the data you want/need out of the /0 directory and put it back under your sdcard and then just delete the /0 directory. Hope it helps.
Or just use the disk usage app I suggested and you completely ignored. It will list your biggest culprits.

Here are the series of events.
ATT note ii without contract, no sim.
Rooted and installed cwm, nandroid backed up to internal sd.
Flashed slimrom, decided I don't like it, booted into cwm, wiped data, formatted /system tried a restore but got directory not found error.
Reflashed slimrom, copied clockwork directory to uSD, wiped data, system, and did a restore. Got an error trying to restore /system.
Reflashed slimrom, download a rooted stock rom, wiped data, system and flashed the stock rom. During reboot, I saw the Samsung note II logo, then screen went black suddenly.
Now I can't turn it on, go into cwm, or download mode. If I touch the soft buttons they light up. Tried removing battery, it does the same after the battery goes back in(Samsung note II logo, then goes dark) . What can I do to get myself back to stock?
Figured it out. If I catch the logo and do the 3 button push, I can get in to cwm. I'm back on slimrom now. But I still need to figure out how to return to stock. Preferably by restoring my back up. Any idea why cwm would say directory not found when using internal sd? And why did restore error our for /system?
I think you wiped the internal memory which had the backup.. next time keep backup on external memory

Not really sure what happened. I was able to Odin back to stock. thanks for the help in any case. A uSD has been installed as well.
Hello xda, literally like 10 minutes ago I updated my cwm touch recovery to 3.0.3.8 something like that.
So after I updated I decided it was time for me to make an updated nandroid back up of my rom so I completely forgot that I had 3 Gb left of internal memory and I wanted it to back it up to my external SD so it was too late for me to go back so I left the process complete but during BACKING UP DATA a few seconds after it started backing it up it gave me an error about a log file. Can't really remember what exactly said so It left me on cwm menu so I took advantage to back it up in my external SD so it finished and right after it booted up the phone was warning me that my storage was almost full so I thought it was the bad nandroid so I went up to the cwm folder and there wasn't anything so I went to my storage to see were the problem was and it gave me something that don't seem right.. Someone knows how to get it back?

Try mnt/shell/emulated/clockworkmod/backup (need root file explorer) see if you have any backup there.
Yes that did the trick thank you!!

Your error had nothing to do with storage space. I experienced the same error on my SGH-M919 with a message about the log file and opening ROM Manager to report the issue although my error specifically stated that it had failed to mount the External SD card. Like you, the error occurred immediately after "upgrading" to a newer version of CWM (from within ROM Manager Premium). I reinstalled the new version of CWM recovery twice from within ROM Manager and continued to get the same error both times so I flashed PhilZ Touch 5 which I already had on my ExtSD card and which is built on an older CWM base 6.0.3.3. PhilZ Touch 5 is successfully creating a nandroid backup for me as I type this.
