unfortunately no, I tried that quite a few times, got the script to run, but still can't get into download or fastboot, and adb wont recognize either way.
You need to flash using odin i believe..........

Fails after flashing the radio, I've tried numerous different guides for restoring with Odin even after the omap flash, Odin picks it up and will let me flash.. But from everything I've read, that isn't download mode, and it won't work

If he's on stock recovery, he is pretty much screwed. If he had custom recovery, could probably get the phone running again, but USB would probably not work.
I had the similar experience two times.
First time - When I just started learning about this phone -
odined I9100.
Second time - accidently flashed M250 rom a week ago.
But in my case, I was able to go to DL mode and reflashed sfhub's one-click odin and problems were solved.

Have you tried the USB jig? That puts mine into download mode, although mine is not messed up with an international ROM. Still though, if you haven't tried that yet, try that.
Nevermind, I failed to read that you can already get into download mode and that it is not recognized by odin.

I remember reading awhile back that you need to reinstall the drivers for the int version and it should be recognized then. Problem your friend has Odin thinks its the int version. Have him try that.

Ok, so I'm an idiot. I flashed a ROM and a kernel for the international i9300 and now my phone is bricked. I didn't realize that the "Galaxy S III" forum was for the international version, which, looking back, was dumb.
Either way, I can't get into download mode. I have a jig, but it doesn't seem to do anything. The phone comes up on my computer as an "Unknown Device." When I connect the charger the LED turns red, and holding the power button for 10 seconds makes the light turn off and I hear the unknown device sound in Windows.
Any thoughts on how I could fix this without going the JTAG route?
Does Odin recognize it if it does try flashing a stock file doubt it will work but doesn't hurt to try

Thanks for the response, but since I can't get it into download mode (that I can see), ODIN won't help where I'm at. Does anyone know the specific driver for the SGS III? If I can get ODIN to see it (even if the screen doesn't come on) then I can flash stock.
Driver in my signature.

I have the drivers installed, but they aren't being detected and installed automatically. My question is which EXACT driver, ie, which INF, corresponds to the Galaxy S III download mode?

No. The cf root method is definitely as easy as it gets right now. Its posted in original development BTW. And no that warning has nothing to do with flashing the wrong firmware for your device. You get that warning when the Odin flash failed or got interrupted. Plug the phone in to the PC with that screen displayed and reflash cf root. Just check your cable/switch USB ports make sure your drivers are installed etc. Sounds like this was just a fluke

I tried to flash the
Liquid JB v2.1 beta2 rom and the gapps jb 20121212-signed package. I used the Unified toolkit to root. It rooted fine. I rebooted in recovery, installed the Liquid rom, then the gapps, then I tried to reboot. Got nothing but a black screen.
Took the battery out, tried the wall charger, USB charger. Nothing works.

What did you use to flash your ROM. Bottom line is you need to try to get into download mode. I believe the key combo is hold down power + volume down + home. If that boots you into download mode just flash back to stock.

Looks like you're most likely hard bricked. That's an HTC One X ROM. Looking at the installer script, it uses mount points that don't match the d2att. It writes the system files to mmcblk0p12, which is the modem on our phone. Also, it writes the kernel to mmcblk0p4, which is also incorrect (I think it's for boot screen images?). Sorry.
Wado unfortunately I've hard bricked two S3's so I know how you feel it's a sinking feeling indeed. I have learned from my foolish mistakes though. I feel for you man.

if you can get in to download mode you have nothing to worry about. as long as it's not a hardware problem that really wasn't caused by flashing.

This just happened to me. I had to put it in download mode and do a restore through samsung kies.
I just did the same thing...I wiped everything then the zip file was corrupt and instead of restoring I rebooted the phone, now the phone boots straight to download mode and odin wont do anything as it's waiting on usb debugging to be enabled....
ugh!

I had this scare too!
You need to use the One Click Restore method found here :
Mirror 1 (Latest Version) - goo,gl/PZgtX
Mirror 2 (Older Version But Might Be Faster) - goo,gl/L9Nct
IMPORTANT: You Need To Install goo,gl/ETEQs If Your Computer Says The Installation Failed Use a Different Computer Because That Will Not Work!
I had this problem just yesterday and had to figure it out by myself. This will solve your problem.
