Is it possible to modify rom or kernel in such way that volume limit is removed and output in headset is louder?
Just delete the volume limit/loud notifier.

Install sound mods that will enhance the volume. Check the thread . Development Section
i dont think u should make it that loud
this will significanly damage your hearing
for me, the minimum (just below totally mute) is enough in silent environment

I use acid. It improves quality, not loudness.

in noisy environment, i still try to use the min volume
if i really cant hear the music, i may press the volume+ button once
if it still isn't loud enough, i wont hear the music then
Remember, in noisy environment, u cant hear your music clear becoz there's so much voice nearby that disturb the music
but this does not make your headphone less loud
u are still hearing the loud music and it still damage your hearing
if u still think the max volume is not loud enough, your hearing is already damaged so much...

I actually wish the volume was loud enough at a lower level so less distortion would have happened.

Yea i understand but i still strongly recommend u not to do this
U will still lose your hearing anyway if u do it
i dont think it worth u to damage your hearing just becoz sometimes u want to listen to clear music in noisy environment
Is there any easy way to increase the touch/lock sound volume? It is way too quiet.
Do you know any difficult way ?
My Camera shutter sound , Dialer sound , keyboard sound , Touch tone , are too low, although I set all the volumes to max but they are still too low !
Keyboard sound is little bit better but not loud enough !
Should I again go for exchange or all of them are like that ?

It's just like that. I don't know a difficult way either.
Actually, I know what the poster means. Even with the volume all the way up the lock/unlock sounds were too quiet for me (M7). What I ended up doing is pushing new sound files to /system/media with increased volume. With WinXP all you have to do is convert the ogg's to wav's, open in sound recorder (yep, that's right) hit Tools, Increase Volume (25%) like 5 times, and bam.
Hopefully this gives some insight,

Try using your EQ setting. I have Viper4android FX w/ everything set to make it as loud as possible.
Is there a way to increase the volume of the earpiece when making/receiving calls? I want it a little more loud. But only the earpiece.
Thank you!
You can do it in call settings
Done that. Any other method? The phone is rooted
I m suprised that you need increase stock volume. I checked tyoday and I need decrease volume because my earpiece is so loude that anyone who is standing near me listen exacly what person on other side is talking about hehe
In noisy environments I want to be a little louder.
So I think that you can edit your mixer.path file and change value of dx 7 position if I good remember one is for loudspeaker and one is for earpiece maybe someone else can clearify but I think its DX 7 value

What I'v found in my Xperia SP (might be the same in your device) is that I have eq and volume boost, so shouldn't be any problem.
I hope you're fine with this
Cheers!
I recently updated to Android 9 and now the volume levels are way too loud even at the lowest setting. It's crazy loud even on 1.
In the past I have used Precise Volume to adjust the number of volume steps from 1-100 and this worked to decrease the volume. But since updating to Android 9 Precise Volume no longer works.
Is there anything I can do, short of holding my finger over the speaker(!) to decrease the overall volume?
Try Sound Assisant from Samsung. You can set your own % level for any app.

I don't get it. First it was too loud, now it's too quiet. Sound Assisant does not decrease overall volume. It just gives you more adjustment options.
