Won't boot - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

I'very been trying to flash a new rom. And everything goes good when flashing. Says successful flashed. (I always install) then when I reboot it stays stuck in the Samsung galaxy s3 screen. Any advice?
I'm using clockwork mod and I basically tried all the tw roms

Flashing correct kernel for the rom? (can't use ICS kernel for JB Rom) it'll cause that issue. Which roms giving you issues? Ensure your not flashing an I9300 Rom on the SPH-L710 either, otherwise you will completely brick it.

Are you wiping everything first?

Start with this stock based Rom and kernel...

Yes I am cleaning flashing. (Factory reset, cache. And dalvik wipe. I tried freegs3. Blazer rom. Goodness jb. And clean bean. All are for my sprint gs3. I don't flash any other tweaks/kerenels/ themes.

You need a different
Kernel.try flashing ktoonz after you flash whatever rom it is and see if it works.

Help with root!

Ok, So i've successfully rooted my epic 4g touch and I successfully installed the rogue CWM found on this forum. Now whenever I try to flash the CM7 zip (trying to get AOKP), it will only boot into CWM and the phone won't boot. I've tried re-rooting, wiping dalvik (gives me volume patch error), and wiping cache, etc.
Any help?
No need to boot flash aokp in the recovery and on pretty sure aokp will boot

And by that I mean flash it twice successively, one after the other. Should fix you up. Let us know if that doesn't work.

I've done that. It didn't work.
You don't need to install CM7 to install AOKP.
Try this: ODIN to stock EL29, use one click root (choose option C, then I (this'll root your device and give stock CWM recovery)).
Then boot into recovery, flash AOKP, gapps and FD02 modem if you'd like.

Really? Interesting. Ok well most people are actually flashing AOKP and Codename from the EL26 CWM that is linked in the OP of those threads. That is actually how I have flashed over 15 times with different builds. So if you can Odin EL26 with clockwork mod you should be able to flash AOKP after you flash a calkulin format all to wipe all relevant partitions and don't forget to install Google apps.

Yes, root works a bit different on this phone. Pretty much every single rom available will provide with root and superuser when it is installed via some sort of custom recovery or Odin. Odin is actually a very safe and convenient method of flashing.

Hmm that's strange. A lot of people definitely have the fast zip installing issue but when they flash it for the second time without ever rebooting recovery or the phone it takes a good 15+ seconds to flash and it successfully writes to your phone and boots up. Going back to stock certainly can't hurt. Perhaps start from there.

I've never seen one, but doesn't mean it can't be done. Normally of one wants to flash back to stock it's cause something went wonky or they want to start over, so i don't think it's come up. But obtaining root again is cake, so maybe just do the Odin procedure and move forward due to the time needed to make a disable zip for stock...just my thoughts

[Q] CWM Recovery on i317M

Hi,
I'm having issues installing CWM Recovery on my Rooted GN2. It's the Canadian variant, SGH-I317M.
It does go through the process of flashing the recovery, but never gets to saying PASS in ODIN. When I try to get into the Recovery, it still has the stock Samsung Recovery. It does, however trip the flash counter.
I'm followiing the instructions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1988785
This is what I get after flashing in ODIN.
Maybe a bad download? Have you checked to see if it installed? I dont usually recommend this but koush's Rom Manager supports our device now, you can use the app to flash it if your already rooted:thumbup:

I was able to install CWM by following this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=36201055&postcount=54
But I'm starting to think that it may have been my fault the whole time...
While doing the 3 button combo to try to boot into Recovery, I was using Vol-DOWN, instead of Vol-UP. So I was going into download mode. I'm going to try flashing the CWM through ODIN again and see if I was just an idiot the whole time.

I thought of cleanROM but it is pretty stock. I feel if im going to flash any rom i might as well go with something modded and tweaked rather then stock, while keeping most of the note 2 and s-pen features. If i start finding them being a little buggy or draining my battery or anything, ill settle with cleanROM and just flash some custom mods.
i flashed my CWM through MobileODIN. worked like a charm. then i ran into issues with backing up to extSD, which ended up working after i formatted it but i took way longer then onto internal SD.
i know its off topic for this thread..Any suggestions or thoughts on the JEDI X9 and SKYNOTE roms will be great guys. Im all backed up and ready to flash pretty quick here.
I guess you have custom ROM. You must root and rename recovery restore files before you boot to android or stock recovery will be restored.

yes, i'm wiping everything, whenever i try to install any other rom i have some type of error. i'm new to this so please excuse my noobness. i've tried to flash a stable cm10, among others with no luck.
Do you have the md4 boot loader?
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
The new S3 have been modded by Sprint /Samsung and require a modded recovery in order to mount storage. The other issue is that you can not flash an aosp style rom. You should be able to flash any TW rom but it won't allow aosp roms to flash. None of the developers have a new S3 so until someone gets one ir someone volunteers one this won't be solved.

If your getting a status 7 error that is the bootloader error flash this in recovery it will update all your firmware and bootloader. http://db.tt/Qt6NcH0a
After flashing this make sure you reboot the phone then try going back into recovery and flashing the rom you want.

[Q] Please HELP Note 2 sprint L900 black screen after samsung logo

So I rooted my Sprint Note 2 using ODIN and everyone's great post. Then I broke my screen and had to do an insurance claim. I then rooted my new phone using the same method -CF-Auto-Root-t0ltespr-t0ltespr-sphl900.tar found out the next day that my headphone jack on the refurbished POS assurance sent me was bad. So I attempted to flash a stock rom (like everyone I could find) so I could have Sprint service center fix it. But now my phone will flash the samsung note 2 screen and then go black. I guess my question is does it matter which stock rom I load? can someone explain the letters and numbers after each file MC2,MA7,PAM LJ1 and so on, which one should I be looking for and what is my next move? I just need to get back to stock rom and a working phone so I can go up there and get mad at someone long enough to get a new phone. I know I'm a noob and there are post that have detailed explanations on flashing stock roms but I have read everyone I could find relating to the l900 which I have come to think is Sprints NOTE II but I am lost and extremely frustrated just want a working phone again. If this helps when my phone was working I was running Macs Allstar ROM shout-out because it is pretty sweet and I remeber it was once on 4.1.2 but the state its in now I dont know please give me a suggestion.

Stock recovery or custom? Just making sure you can get into either Twrp or Cwm recovery before you flash billiards stock recovery Rom MC2. Its under Sprint Note 2 Android development. Download it. Verify Md5 and place on your external sd card. Go into recovery, wipe cache, dalvik, n factory reset each 3 times ( on twrp) Install rom. After its done installing hit reboot system. Might ask you if you want to fix root permissions. Hit yes and let its do its thing and it will boot up to stock rom and ready to turn in to sprint with no trace of root or modding.

yes that just stayed on screen tried using Odin and flash the file you had circled on pick and got same result but now im thinking maybe I should have wiped system three times before flashing odin file? I will just wait until you recommend my next move.
Here is where I am at...Installed rom using TWRP. got impatient after a few minutes of looking at the boot screen so I pulled battery went into odin mode downloaded circled file via odin (without wipe or factory reset) and now I am stuck on boot screen going on 5 minutes now. I ll wait.lol

If you have twrp installed already theres no reason to go back into odin. Just pull battery. Enter twrp recovery and install again. Wipe data. Cache. Dalvik. 3 times and install rom again. Hit reboot system after it installs. Click fix root permissions if it asks and let it boot up.

You were trying the MC2 one right? Your baseband is LJ1 so could be why you were getting stuck. I would try the LJC version and see if it boots up for you. Make sure your verifying md5 of the file so you know its a good download.
Edit: charge your phone also to make sure you have enough juice in case you have to try again.
