Check this thread, it has almost every topic covered for Xperia S.

Rather posting a new question, it's always better if you search more, you know. The more you search the more you learn. The same way we all learned.

Also check this HELP thread and post question there. Creating random threads like this won't help you much.

Um mmmmm..... You just replied!
If you're trying to reply to a thread in a development forum, it's because you cannot do so until you have 10 posts.

See the new user guide in my sig, the best place to 'collect' your 10 posts is by answering questions in your device's Q&A section. You shouldn't find that difficult at all if you have something to post in a dev forum. Any 10 post spam will almost always get reported so there's no point trying to make useless OT posts just to get there.

You need to watch the XDA noob video again bro. Read, search, and everything else before you post. And based on your question, there's no way in hell you did either. There's topics on your question ALL OVER THIS FORUM.

2 posts old. Probably can't read yet.
OP, there are two rules of XDA:
1. Never ask about ETAs
2. See rule #1
*facepalm*

I believe >>> THIS <<< will answer your question.
I have searched all over the web and can't seem to find exactly what it means to do a clean flash. It is referred too all the time and I think I have been flashing dirty because I just do a factory/reset. So if anyone could shed of some light on thus it would be much appreciated!
Sorry.....but a well worded Google search would answer this quickly. You would have had the answer faster than it took you to make this thread.
People are encouraged to search before posting here....its actually in the XDA site rules even.
Try it....you'll like it!

Sorry....I just prefer to help people help themselves.
Those who don't search, read and learn about this stuff will be the firsts to brick their phones. Guaranteed.

Thanks for your help. But all phones are different so I couldn't find anything for this phone. It seems some people just a factory reset and cache and dalvil cache is clean... But I don't know what's a clean flash is for this phone?
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda app-developers app
Clean flash steps are the same for all android devices. That I've ever used anyway.
And a tip. Its in most roms opening posts, under instructions for flashing. Usually laid out step by step.

Hello, I'm a freshman of XDA.
I went to setting and tried to find to change nickname, but I couldn't find that.
In a search, some say if you want to change, you may PM to MikeChannon.
but that post was posted in 2012, so I wonder if MikeChannon is alive in XDA yet.
Could you help me...?
