On the stock rom, there was a volume booster button. but on most roms they don't have this. Is this a kernel related thing or is there some other application that controls the actual phone portion. I'd like to have the volume boost again.

i've seen (and used) this feature on every ROM i've tried. did you enable the feature in Call Settings: Open Phone App-->Call Settings--->Use extra vol for calls?
That feature doesn't appear to be in every rom. Not currently on my AOKP rom it seems. I'll make sure to check the settings if i switch to another rom.

yes, it's not available in AOKP or Cyanongen ROMs. i mistakenly thought you were referring to Stock ROMS since you didn't explicitly state you're using AOKP ROMS.

Hello
I have a problem with the phone dialer and the rom based on CM ie CM10, AOKP or AOSP.
Let me explain: When a call is received, the display is on, normal, when the approach of the ear, the screen goes to sleep, ok on stock rom and stock based custom rom
However I could not get out of sleepping the screen on the CM based rom during a call :crying: even if i press home button or power button !
I always flash the included kernel, so i don't know where is my mistake. Am I alone with this failing ?
In advance, thanks for any help.
Regards
Any suggestion
Some CM (or was it just CM10?) based ROMs have issues with proximity sensor. A bug in the ROM.

This is what seemed to me : the proximity sensor :crying:
But do you think if I get hw_config.sh from the stock ROM and I paste into a CM based ROM, it will fix the problem ?
Thx

Actually I had not yet tried this kind of response because I was looking for confirmation that it was a problem with the proximity sensor.
Thank you for the suggestion, i'll take a look and keep you informed
I have E971 Canadian Rogers. I've tried roms such as CM 11, CyanFox 2.0.2, OMNI.
I get no sound while the phone is dialing, and when the call has been accepted.
I also get no sound when i pick up calls.
Speaker seems to work.

I get that problem too. Have you flashed any kernel after flashing the ROM, or when using the ROM? If you do, maybe the kernel has incompatibility issues with the ROM.
And if you are using Gravity Box Xposed Module, disable the volume tweaks there.

I am on tmobile (with rogers phone) and it seems to be a widespread problem.
A patch for Optimus G Pro. This worked for me! (Note that I JUST flashed the patch and I don't know if it will cause other problems in the long run)

Anyone know of an app or method to assing actions to long press/double tap on menu and back buttons? I know it is in some ROMS, but don't have it in the ROM I'm experimenting with now.

Ok. I'll give it a try. I am a bit concerned, based on this quote from the Gravity Box thread:
Next thing, GB is a complex module and is not suitable for 1 purpose scenario. This means, if you are running custom ROM built from source (CM, PAC, ...), and you are missing a certain feature, your best option is to go ask creators of those ROMs to implement those additional features. Supplementing missing features on well-known custom ROMs built from source by installing xposed modules (especially complex ones) is definitely not a good way to go and can cause more trouble than good.

I'll post how it goes though.
Hi xda!
I'm writing this thread because in those days, after flashing the latest cm11 nightly, I found some HUGE problems and basically all of them are related to the dialer.
Dialer's Problems:
- when the call starts i'm unable to see the dialer screen, the phone seems to be locked but when i press the ac button nothing happens, so re-pressing it is the solution but instead of the dialer screen it pops out the lock screen, then if i want to come back to the dialer i have to swipe down the notification bar
- while calling i'm unable to shut down the call and also i can't use the speaker, the dialer and so on
I've made a little video, you can see it here-> on yt /watch?v=NbAmJefyRZ8
(inverted colors lel)
Really need some help, thanks in advance!
(the model is the n7100)
Have you tried a KK AOSP ROM? How about a stock-based KK ROM?

Nope, never tried an AOSP just because i didn't need to, let me explain everything.
So it started with me flashing the blisspop rom because I wanted to give back life to my phone, which was stock samsung KK with root. Everything was working really fine, a super smooth ROM (with lollipop woooaaaah) but i found a super huge bug(?) i really don't know what was going on, basically there were not a storage, so the camera, whatsapp media and so on were not working.
So i started googling for a solution, which doesn't exist at all.
And so here we go with cyano.
Please do not make me flash a samsung stock, i really hate their ROMs, they are super heavy with thousand of useless applications
OK...so I'm not sure if I'm the only one experiencing this problem or not, but every cm ROM I have installed the speaker call volume is obnoxiously low...if I'm on a stock lollipop or stock marshmallow ROM whether its modded or not the volume is fine but on a cm ROM it sucks...its only the voice call speaker volume that is low. The bluetooth, media volume, etc... is fine. I have tried increasing the voice call speaker volume through the mixer paths XML file via es file explorer and it only gets distorted and I have tried many ways...turning it down from 66 to 64 (that makes it sound lower), turning it up from 66 to 68, 70 (that makes it sound distorted). Anyway is this a normal issue for cm ROMs for the speaker call volume to sound low or is there some kind of work around to enhance the volume...thanks
Friend, that sounds like it could be a modem issue. I've used CM-based ROMs for years and haven't had this issue. Currently on vanilla CM and my call/speaker volume is great (D850 variant).
Strange...well I don't reflash bootstacks if I'm already on the correct one but y would everything else work except speakerphone...should I try a modem all by itself? I'm on vs985 variant running resurrection remix (latest build)

Yes. Find a modem for your device and flash it through recovery. It's possible the solution could be that quick and easy. I have no idea why one thing would work and not the other, but personally I would start with the modem.
CM Roms ... The kernels have fauxsound support in kernel management... Have you tried adjusting those settings?
I have not but somebody has told me that when I put them on speakerphone they can hear themselves echoing back when they talk...I flashed to a stock based rom and they no longer hear the echo...I reflashed a custom Rom and now they hear the echo again...so...I flashed a couple more cm aosp rims and they hear the echo on those roms to...is the echo curse normal on custom aosp roms or is there something I'm missing???
