PSA: Reddit News now has Multi-window support! - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=reddit.news&hl=en
Serendipitously I discovered this afternoon that the recently updated Reddit News appeared in my list of multi-window enabled apps!
I know many of you have rooted devices and can add whatever apps you choose to this feature, but seeing as I've yet to go down that path with my device Reddit browsing was something I DESPERATELY wanted to use with multi-window.
Does anyone know of any other apps that have added compatibility? I thought I had read in another forum that apps couldn't add support without some kind of OS upgrade, but it's cool to see that it's just a matter of developers adding support.

Looking for bèta-testers for my first app!

Hi fellow developers
I recently made a WP7 application. The app is just a very basic browser (it doesn't even have a history or favorites system yet), and I would like some bèta-testers for it, since I will be adding more features such as the ones mentioned above, maybe themes and many more! (the app won't be available in the Market, only Bazaar and similar )
Everyone is free to use this, but please let me know of any bugs/errors and requests/tips for future (non-bèta) versions!

(woops, I put this thread in the wrong forum, can an admin move this to development please?)
I'm testing it!! So far everything's good
Thanks! I'm going to release an improved version of the browser in the next few weeks, with history, favorites, a homepage and stuff like that

Share and Discover Floating Apps

Tablets are a great way to use floating apps on, big screen which enhances multitasking.
I opened this thread so me and every (soon to be) nexus 7 owners can discover new floating apps that makes using a tablet more multitask-able, fun, and life savior.
I''m gonna start with a couple of apps that I think are great, give me feedback and app recommendations ( try to provide a link to the app if possible).

also, your links are all broken.
This is exactly what I'm trying accomplish with StandOut, which let's devs easily make floating apps.

There's already one app, DarkCalc, in Google Play that uses StandOut. Please check the thread and give all the developers some encouragement if you want more floating apps on the Nexus 7!

[Q] What to use

Hi everyone,
I have got a new task to make an application, but I have worked so far with eshops, so this is something new for me and I would really appreciate some advices from you. Concretely I am interested in some frameworks to use and what languages is best for app that have to:
- store offline data
- show updates from FB
- show short updates from articles
I have checked and most probably use for this HTML5, local SQL and some script language that I did not chose yet. From the others I have considered Phonegap, backbone.js. Can anyone just let me know If I am completely off or sugest better solution?
thank you in advance
ntsngai and
I've been using the MEAN stack, which can do everything you listed.

If you have noticed apps going missing on Google Play in the updates list, read this!

For anyone that is reading this,I encourage you to get Google's attention for this utter nonsense and join together to show some backlash against these changes.
I found out about this because I was neglecting to update some listed apps because the changes of the apps weren't worth the update yet.
Recently I noticed a few of the apps I know had updates to them mysteriously vanished from the updates list on my Android Shield TV Pro (2015),which is still on Nougat OTA 6.3, and I couldn't figure out what was going on for a bit.
So when I found out they were suddenly listed as incompatible on Google Play via an already installed Opera for Android web browser that I commonly use,I had to message the app developers.
One of those apps I helped brainstorm a few features for ,so I am fairly acquainted with one of the devs more than the other app developers that I also notified via e-mails.
Turns out, they have to go through some new survey/review garbage now in order to pass a test designed for the most lax Shield TV users (users that never side-load anything and never use a keyboard on it,or users who only use a small number of apps).
Sorry if this offends any users that don't do a bunch of extra things on their Shield TV,its Google messing with Android TV again which causes more extensive users to suffer.
The attached image shows what stuff every app must do in order to become "eligible" to be accessible on a Shield TV.
That means, any abandoned old app that was previously listed more-or-less or any app that the developers don't want to update to make it compatible or "eligible" or any app that the developer is too lazy to even bother with making it compatible again will be locked away from proper updates if they were previously listed on Google Play as compatible for being possible to install/update directly.
The biggest problem in all of this mess is that anyone on the Oreo update is stuck with that stubborn and extra difficult untrusted app sources change that makes it basically impossible to install many apps due to them failing to show up in the list that comes up for allowing you to install each app that you wish to side-load.
I encourage anyone that reads this to help get Google's attention for this utter nonsense and give them some backlash.

Question How to clone app? Without Work Profile

SO I read like a week ago that in the Android 12 CDD there are guidelines on the possibility to clone certain apps such as Messenger, Whatsapp, etc. https://www.xda-developers.com/android-12-clone-profile-native-app-cloning-support/
Has anybody been able to find how exactly you would do that?
Yes, I'd be interested to know as well - seems that the new feature is just in development and not actually available
Agreed. I haven't seen any more news about this since last October, and the last paragraphs in the article made it sound buggy in testing, and not available officially yet at the time:
However, as Mishaal further clarifies, it isn’t clear if the new profile will work in Android 12 out of the box. Creating a Clone profile doesn’t seem to be supported right now and there’s no flow for cloning apps or differentiating them in Android 12. In its current state, the feature seems to be incredibly buggy. As Luca Stefani found out, the Clone profile is seen by the launcher as a work profile and it randomly clones installed apps when created.
At the moment, we don’t have any further information about the new Clone profile. We’ll make sure to let you know as soon as we learn more. Until then, if you wish to install multiple instances of an app on your Pixel device, you can use a third-party app like Parallel Space.
