Is ME525 equal to MB525? I've read somewhere it isn't. Therefore, is it safe to flash it on MB525?
actually i don't know, but i'm using it on my mb526!
Here's a better link:
miui-dot-com/extra.php?mod=download/rom&fid=27
You'll have to type it in. No links for the "noobs"
I tried the previous weekly 525 build for a few days on my red lens 525. More stable on 2nd init than 2nd boot, IMO. In the end, I don't really like MIUI and reverted to CM9.

Hi this is only chinese...plz help me how to change language to english?
no you can change also to english! just go to setting and search an "a" and you can change the language:
- complete setting (the right one on the top)
- last section (system), second voice (language and keyboard)
- the first option is the system language
the 3.2.1 version is out, i think is better!

Question
Anybody knows if it's safe flash this ROM???
I was on Wajkiui ROM (3.1.27), and then I gave a second chance to Stefan's Miui V4 after some bugs... bad idea, a lot of lag, and no option to sort apps into the folders on screen... then I installed all kind of launchers, but the lag still there...
Now I'm running Quarx JB 4.1.2, but what can I do, I LOVE MIUI !!!!!!!!
LED Notification for missed calls and messages....
hey I think there is no notification LED for missed calls and messages received if there is plz let me know?
MB526
Hi,
Look in the build.prop.
Its look like a quarz rom.
I've flashed 3.2.8 and 3.2.22 defy version from miui.com with no problems. They have 2nd boot option, but use stock kernel by default.
Currently I have the 3.22.2 defy+ version with battd and libbattd.so from defy version on my red lens defy. + version also needs gb kernel. I have had one random reboot on this configuration. My phone thinks it's a ME525+ :-/ , but working pretty well. MIUI is growing on me.
Edit: I needed to install baseband switcher on all these roms, too.

Hey Guys,
I have had my Defy for about a month. A friend helped me upgrade from 2.1 to 2.3.4 (MotoGiner-test5).
I am interested now in trying the CM7 build. I see it says I need to flash Froyo.
Do I need to flash froyo to install the CM7 onto my phone even though I am running 2.3.4?
yes..u need to start with froyo to install CM7 to avoid any kind of problem

Releasing an official 2.3 Defy will erode Defy+ sales. If you are the owner of Motorola, and your stokeholders hold you accountable to make more profit, what would you do?

it works better than any previous 'official' 2.2!
Because of SOC module Motorola stopped official update to 2.3, it's stupid. How to add language to sbf, is it possible? Some guide or advice, ty
have a look to the motoginger1.1 thread by walter, he is working on a new release 2.0 which may include the language you want. if not he answered a question in his thread somewhere about an app you can install that adds languages i think?
There is way to turn your 2.2 Defy to a 2.3 Defy+....
...and I found it by mistake.
It is really important to know that when you flash a new .sbf file (effectively a new ROM) you CAN ONLY GO FORWARD in Android versions. Why is not important, and there are plenty of guides that explain why, as well as how to do it.
While trying to put CM7 on using the guides, I had to keep going forward, and ended up with a Chinese Defy ROM that didn't work (but unbricked me at the time). The only option was the latest official UK 2.3 Gingerbread ROM (luckily I am in the UK), which I installed. Imagine my astonishment when the model number of my MB525 was now listed in the phone "About" menu as MB526, which is of course the new Defy+.... So it appears I have the Defy+ ROM running on my Defy. I rooted it using Droid 3 Root, and installed Android Overclock and now it runs at 1ghz. Just the battery to install (if it works) and I'll have a Defy+ upgrade package....
Important things to note - it all works so far, but if you follow me you do so on your own responsibility. Also, you can't overclock to higher than 1ghz, because of a locked kernel (look it up, others explain it better).
Good luck!
i'm currently using miui 2.3.5, it works fine, and beatiful, maybe you can try it

Doesn't matter if Motorola gives us 2.3 or not.
CM7.1 is AGES away from any Stock Rom I've seen so far. Got it running since a couple days on my Defy, and it runs wonderful.

Yeah but it freezes all the time, reboots, camera don't work and still slow. Don't get me wrong it CAN be used (and I was using it for ages)... but the cons outweigh the pros as of yet and I rather use a GB ROM, a lot faster and a lot more stable. I mean kudos to the devs they're doing a great job, but it's still early days IMO

If you are using anything but stock hboot you may have issues as Lenny does modify the rom to primarily suit stock hboot. It will work on other hboots but some apks are missing.
Look at alpharev website and flash back to stock hboot. Do a full wipe and then reflash the rom. From their you should find miui-au pretty stable

I had a problem once changing hboot. I read a few times on different forums that one should always use the "downgrade" hboot prior to changing hboot. Since then i did so, and did not have any problem anymore.

Yes it´s possible. However I recently flashed XXLMB and the power consumption incrased in CM9. And because I flashed it togehter with it´s Modem, I also lost HDSPA. Now I´m back to XXKL3 like b4 and all is fine. HDSPA is also working again.
You need to flash either a firmware which contains the needed Baseband with Odin, or just and extracted Baseband. Then simply restore your backup of your CM9 build.
