Hi, I was using my HOX as usual, checking videos and taking photos, when suddenly my phone began to act weird. It became ultra laggy, and then I noticed that YouTube videos won't play, games crash and I can't use the camera, it's just goes black.
I'm on vacations, I can't use another Rom, I only tried factory reset or wiping cache.
Is the gpu dead?
I'm on maximus 12 with stock kernel.
Thanks
Seems like a HW problem indeed.
You can be sure only by reflashing ROM.

I want to know if my gpu won't work on software like videos camera and games, why I can still use chrome or view photos.
It's a strange issue and I want to know if someone experienced this.
Ah that changes your question

It looks like a bad sensor. Is it happening consistently in different camera apps? What happens if you try a camera app such as Camera360 that lets you alter the ISO (in normal mode)?
If possible, can you upload samples taken against a solid white background under even lighting?
Please, anyone??? i have the same problem.... i've changed the camera, still fail

I had the exact same issue on HTC G2, it's indeed hardware. The great news is it's just a mechanical issue: Push on the camera, perpendicular to the battery case (straight into the phone). It will fix this issue.
Lots of success with this method at androidforums. I cannot post a link, but google "androidforums evo camera 152727"
Cheers

+1. I had this with all three of the G1's I owned, and I had it with my G2 not too long ago. Not sure why this keeps happening, but just put the phone screen down on a table, and push down on the camera. One of the strangest fixes ever but hey, whatever works!
Hello guys I want to ask you something, my xperia S keep stuttering when playing music and doing other things(JB is way better than ICS,but still) not much as of now, but i want to know what cause it(since no one seems to know).
Using system tuner i can keep track of everything that happen in my phone, right?in the log what should I search for to know what or who cause this?someone knows???
thanks for the help

It's only leak... Stop making new unnecessary thread and wait for FULLY working OFFICIAL fw. Official fw shouldn't have this issue.

Should be caused by switching to low frequencies.
Anyway It hadn't happened since I flashed JB leak
Sent from my LT26i using xda app-developers app
Uhmm are you sure? I noticed through syatem tuner that the phone does it at high freq (when both of cpu are working)but gave me a moltitude of "errors"in the log so i can't really say what cause this.
You have no stuttering of music when loading fb? Twitter? Chrome??? If it's low. Cpu freq why my phone does it and yours doesn't?
The stutter, as i said,it's not terrible but there is in fact stuttering.
Another thing is, it never does it twice on the same situation, it's almost always when opening something for the first time.
Anyway thanks for the feedback!!

I'm not whining about the leak,I asked if through system tuner i can monitor when and why the stuttering happen and how can i identify it.
Lastly i've had this stuttering since the beginning and in every rom i tried so excuse me if i'm this curious.

Have you tried pushing the frequencies of your cpu using setcpu?or how about keeping only 4 processes in developer options to free up some ram..just some suggestions

RE:JB LEAK
I am having the Same issue , its just the JB leak being slightly Unstable , its probably Audio Libary issue and wont be fixxed unless you some how have the JB source and know the problem exactly, or you could just wait till JB is actually released
anyway , System tuner is a memory heavy app , make sure your systCTL is setup for more free Ram, it should lower the amount of times it skips(maybe 1 time then none more)

the problem isn't strictly with JB and i know this is only a leak thing is i'm having this issue on every rom i try(stock .55,pac,CM and now JB)
that's why i tried to use system tuner to discover the issue
dave
Try this
how about this
Unlock your bootloader
Flash Stock Kernel/ROM , data/cache/dalvik
and EVEN then if it still happens then its your XS not the Firmware , it could be the audio jack or any thing dealing with the audio. i dont think you can fix it besides cleaning out the dust from your XS and seeing then... you never know

that's the first thing I did when having the problem,i was still on stock so I used PCC to repair the O.S.
I did this at least 4 times since i bought it(6 months now),changed kernel, rom wiped everything and back to stock (.55) but the problem was/is still here.
we are almost at the end of may so JB will arrive soon,so i will relock my BL and reflash stock soon(i might do it today).
I tried different head set, headphones, listening to music using the speakers nothing change.
anyway once again thanks for the feedback and the help.

hello everybody, thanks for coming out tonight!
the problem:
no matter how much i leave my wildfire charging, it DOES NOT REACH 100% and the percentage that it reads at most is 70%
this problem occurred after i used Battery Callibration app to calibrate my battery (i tried to calibrate cause i thought that it reads wrong percentage)
is there ANYONE helping me out please?
p.s. i have root access and i have tried hard reseting (bootloader clear storage) and format \cache \boot \system \data in recovery and all......... nothing helped! i also tried several roms including cm7.2 and RUUs. non of them helped.
That is a hardware issue, most of us including me face this issue.I'm sorry, there's no real solution for it.

thanks for the answer dude
how come this is a hardware issue? we went through a software-related procedure and now it is about hardware!? i mean we didn't change the input voltage... did we??? it's really odd to me.
did it happen for ur phone after using Battery Calibration app?
what if i change the battery, does it make it right like before?
another thing to consider is what Battery Monitor Widget Pro shows. it says that my battery at most is filled with 900 mAh out of its 1300 mAh nominal capacity!!
what exactly does this app do??

I dont think that battery calibration app caused this..There mst be some flaw with our motherboard or may be it caused due to voltage fluctuations.I saw people changing batteries which didnt help.I dont know but no matter what you do,the problem is just there.

In that case I would make a backup and flash a complete stock rom (including stock kernel and a full wipe). It is the kernel that does the power management.
P.s.

and yesss i removed that goddamn batterystats.bin several times!
and i used several kernels:
-stock

i have also used several stock and custom roms
and in clockworkmod recovery i also tried removing battery stats, wiped data/factory reset, wiped cache partition, formated boot & system & data & cache. none of them helped!

This isnt a rom issue at all,it just happens with every custom or stock rom. This is the reason I blame the hardware.

if it had something to do with the rom or even the kernel, flashing a ruu should have fixed it.
As others say, I also expect it to be hardware related, perhaps the app somehow changed certain voltage parameters and overburned/underburned/eated your battery cappacity. But I just stumbled upon this, and thought you might as well give it a try.
Good luck!

Hi, I'm having a bit of a problem using my phone as a dashcam when driving. I've tried a couple of apps thoroughly which makes me think the problem is a hardware issue, not the apps.
Basically, I want to use a fairly high resolution with the sound off (both apps have this feature) but that causes the camera to pause for 1-2 seconds every few seconds. Turning the sound on fixes it, but that's not ideal. At really low resolutions it works okay, but the quality is quite poor.
Are there any apps/tweaks etc that can improve this do you think? Has anyone got the Ace working well as a dashcam? THanks for any help, I've spent ages trying different settings etc.
U tried LenovoSuperCamera? It has lot of options and it makes quite nice shots. The only problem is in video-recording cuz its only recording in 720p, if its ok for u then give it a try. I'll send u a link if ill find it. (there is a special modded version on xda)

Thanks, I'll take a look. Is it just the first result on XDA when you Google it? Says it's for S4, but it works on Ace 2? Or is there another version?

If you are rooted try ts10 from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=45183659. It pretty much solved the same issue i had on both of my tablets .
Edit: i tried this on lollipop and would not boot but it works fine on kk.

Since that is a software fix, do people report that the lollipop update fixes it?

I updated to lollipop but rolled back to kk because xposed doesn't work, the touch problem was still happening. I tried what this video suggests and no improvement. http://youtu.be/cOnccu6Nbl0 the ts10 doesn't totally fix the problem but it makes it MUCH better. Every few days when it comes back, I wipe cache n dalvik and it is usable again.

It seems like its a 5.0 issue. I had zero issues on 4.4.4, now this just crap. Is google aware?
Thanks. That's what I thought.
Like you, one of my reasons for staying with kitkat is xposed.

might absolutely have to do with hardware. look carefully at the connectors, detach then re-seat them tightly.
