i hate to use them their annoying especially SP's i have tried matte i liked it more than glossy ones cuz its anti glare buut.. picture quality is so **** with it.. and recently. i bought some from ebay..which say ULTRA CLEAR etc. BUT their not clear at all.... and i duno they look pretty bad so can someone please Suggest me some suuuper good Screen protector.?? not matte , normal one any link please...? or brand ... ? thanks in advance..
*Plus do we really have to use case and sp's....
I use screen protector and case from Belkin http://www.belkin.com/us/F8M137-Belkin/p/P-F8M137 and for the case http://www.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=544797 and very satisfy with these .
I dont use any casing or screenprotector.. and my phone is still 99% scratch free.
Coz I treat my phone as my 12th finger. No need for rubbers
I use a case, but simply to prevent to camera lens from resting on whatever surface I am placing the phone on, the build quality doesn't warrant a case

For a case I've been using the Case Mate Tough for a while now, very good 2-layer protection and doesn't add as much bulk as say the Otterbox. I'm using a ghetto screen protector that I cut from a Playbook tablet protector I had laying around, works perfectly.

I'm one of these which use either case and screen protector. At the moment its modified otterbox case (with wireless charging added) at I also have two TPU cases which cover all the bezel around and leather hard back case which is still on the way from amazon. As a screen protector I've got one of the privacy screen protectors from ebay - screen is darker but for my eyes only

Screen protector and case
I use case mate pop for my phone as it's pretty useful for propping the phone up whilst watching videos/movies. Also I have a screen protector from media devil which is very high quality and I personally find it doesn't impair the viewing experience at all. The only thing is that it is noticeably less smooth to touch/swipe and also fingerprints stick much easier.
i have a really dirty job .. so my hands get dirty so i have a screen protector and a case ! Cant remember what the screen protector is called ,but it was bought from carphone warehouse . they are expensive but have a life time warranty. they are well worth every penny . its not peeled off or moved at all .

I used to have a case mate pop until I left it somewhere and the rubber melted.
I love the stand and I only buy cases that fully protects all edges, and come with a stand to boot.
Cons of the case mate pop: heavy. Stand gets loose with use. Probably can add a little super glue to stiffen it.
I found another case that is more a two piece plastic with silicone interior to replace it. It's lighter and has a stand too.

Sand will destroy any glass screen no matter what, it's the nature of sand. Do a Google search for Mohr's scale of relative hardness, a harder substance will always scratch a softer one.

Zagg is extremely durable, that's the good thing about it. It's very hard to damage, and it seems to be self-healing to some degree. Excellent protection, for sure. However, there are two things that I personally don't like about it. First, its surface is not completely flat and smooth -- it's slightly textured and kinda "bumpy". It's not a huge problem, but is a bit annoying sometimes, depending on the viewing angle. Second, it doesn't have a smooth glide feeling of a glass or some other SPs -- the surface has some friction and "catches" a finger, for the lack of a better description. Oh, and the price -- it's pretty darn expensive... I used it on my previous phone (it still has it installed), but I will not buy it again.
Re: 64GB MicroSDXC Sandisk - $16.55
I really like XtremeGuardz. They are durable and don't get that scrubbed look after some wear. Grab a couple when they are on sale. Also, they have a slightly cushioned "rubbery" feel I enjoy. Some don't though. They self-heal somewhat also.
Service and shipping are good in my experience also.

Are there any protectors out there that retain the bare glass feel? I don't care about finger prints or glare, just don't want any scratches I've fallen in love iwth how smooth the screen is
Yeah, I do have the same question. Digging through the 'Best Brand for screen protectors?' and can not find clear answer.
I even do not care to pay more for the ultra clear and same touch feel.
People, you did bought a lot of different brands. Could you please consolidate the feelings after week(s) of usage, anyone?
I have the PhantomSkinz on my Captivate, and I have a zagg on my zune HD. I also tried a ClearFreak on the Captivate for a week or so before the PhantomSkinz came in. Long story short, phantomskinz is a bit better than zagg, and both of them are much much better than the clearfreak. I wrote up a post comparing the three and posted pics here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7420035&postcount=22

SKINOMI.
Though you can feel the edges of the case protector, the screen protector is beautiful.
It is something like .08mm thick and adheres completely flush. I am a new fan of skinomi and love the picture/screen quality with it.

Hmm I will have to look into that I ordered a Seidio ultra clear last night (2 pack) so maybe I'll do a comparison
I use Realook on mine. It smudges up pretty bad but when its clean it looks fantastic. There is no adhesive so you can pull it up pretty easily and you get the standard two in a pack. The camera lens cover is a bit of a pain, the thing is so small its hard to keep fingerprints off the back side when putting it on but I got it on in the end.

That's a good question. It sounds overpriced if you need only one kind, e.g. clear transparent. But if it's great it may worth it to buy. I would like to get a feedback.
I just got my two realook screens today. They do smudge easily but its not any worse then without the protector. It went on easily and I have one small bubble on the upper left corner which I am sure will go away in a day. Overall I am very happy with it, and for $11 for two shipped to my house, I couldn't pass it up.

How do they feel compared to the stock glass screen?
I had an Invisible Sheild full body skin...didn't like it. It wasn't super clear and was a little sticky, I just swapped my phone at AT&T today and they talked me into the screen covers they sell, I guess its new? 3 for $10, so far I like it 100x better than invisible shield, much clearer and closer to the glass feel!
Just got my Seidio protectors in yesterday They were really easy to install and left zero bubbles that were hard to remove. The clarity is awesome - I can't tell that there's a protector installed by looking at it. The surface does seem a bit less smooth than the glass, but I can live with it!

I bought two Skinomi's from Amazon (thinking I might screw up first installation). sure enough, I did screw it up first time, leaving big bubbles. But the second try went down perfectly (you gotta be very careful not to let fluid get into edges of phone during installation).
But ... in the end I found it felt like too much drag when swiping the screen compared to the naked screen. Difficult decision - I'll be really pee'd off if I scratch it, but I'm going naked for now - I'm just gonna be super careful.
I picked up some of the Skinguardz and they definitely have a rubbery feel.
I ordered SGP. Will let you know how it works when it will be delivered.

after I went to phantomskinz, ghostarmor, boxwave, realook, bodyguardz and SGP websites, SGP is the most attractive one to me... please let us know how does it feel after you attach it! =)
and say no to bestskinever or invisshield/zagg if you want a smooth feel screen protector, i have them both for my cellphones and camera, which is very nice, but i dont think it will be nice if i put it on my touchscreen devices...
I've been considering getting a screen protector for a while now. The problem I have is my hands sweat very badly (gross I know) and then the touch screen on my phone goes crazy from the water on the screen. I have never had this problem with any phone I've had before now. I think it is because the Atrix touch screen is more sensitive than any other phone I've had. I was wondering if a screen protector would fix this problem and what some good brands were to try. Thanks
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
You should always have a screen protector on any smart device you care about. One grain of sand in your pocket can ruin your screen (and your day). That said....
A screen protector will likely NOT fix your problem, as water (sweat) registers as a capacative touch. For a screen protector to "fix" the registration of sweat, it would have to also "fix" the registration of a desired capacitive touch (finger, stylus, or otherwise).
The only manner in which a screen protector could help is if you could find a very hydrophobic one (the repells and beads water), though you would still need to soak up that water with your shirt or a handkerchief or something. I'm not sure they even sell these. Google is your friend, here. Use keywords hydrophobic and/or water-repellent. Good luck, my friend, and let us know if you find anything interesting!

Water repellent spray wouldn't work because the screen protectors are vinyl or polyurethane and are not absorbent. Those hydrophobic sprays only work with an absorbent material like cloth or real leather.

I have to disagree with the statement that you have to have a screen protector, we have gorilla glass! I have never had a protector and my screen looks great! As for this situation, a protector that has a little rubberized feel might work well. I would read reviews on Amazon and buy the one that people complain the most about it sticking!

FWIW, my wife has been w/o a screen protector since April and I've been with / without one on and off since June.
Still not a single scratch on either phone, however, without one the screen is too smooth, so I'm thinking of going back installing one.
Hope this helps...
I went without a screen protector for a few months. I took the phone outside and noticed TONS of very fine scratches. You could only see them in direct sunlight, but it bothered me enough that I got a screen protector shortly thereafter.
I was thinking to buy a Vikuiti ADQC27. Has anyone tried it?
Thanks
I have to second the rec for the Otterbox Defender case. Having the screen protector built in is pretty awesome and in my experience, it has withstood all kind of liquidy stuff on it and plenty of goopy stuff as well. Like those technical terms?
It hasn't hampered my touch screen through various roms with various sensitivities and my glowing review hasn't even hit all the protection benefits it gives.
Best part? I got mine for about $10 'used' on ebay and while the silicone part was a little loose, a quick email to Otterbox got me a free placement in the mail without any hassle.
I haven't used one myself, but if they make one for the Atrix and if it's what you are really looking for, Zagg stuff has made some of my friends really happy.
You should look into a Matte one where is almost smudge free
altho it looks slightly foggy and scratch easily, but its worth it
make sure u get like a few togehter on ebay so you have backup ones

Can you suggest any brand? Something like the GreatShield Ultra Anti-Glare (Matte)?
I have one on mine, steinheil (SGP), while the protector gets scratched its better than the screen getting scratched.
Can't really tell the SGP ultra crystal protector is on the screen either, other than the few scratches that are on the protector now. Comes with 2 in a package if you get them.
They have an oleophobic one that is suppose to be oil resistant, maybe that one might be ideal? The ultra fine is their matted one.
If you look at the product on their webpage the 'Select a Color' changes the type of protector they have (took me a min to find the different versions they had when I looked again).
Last while the corning glass is tough, with a vickers hardness of 622kgf/mm2 in the unstrengthened and 701 in the strengthened stuff is pretty impressive.
Spec sheet for the glass can be found from corning's site using a google search, made me curious to check it.
While pretty hard something as simple and common as sand can scratch it which has a vickers hardness of about 1000....
Keys, lighters and the like are unlikely to scratch it though as unless its hardened tool steel its hardness will likely be below 650, an edge on a tungsten ring could probably do the trick though.
Anyhow I keep one on my phone, though maybe not really necessary I'd rather have a scratched screen protector than see the glass get scratched.

Zagg and Skinomi are quite nice. I like the Skinomi on my tablet maybe even a bit better than the Zagg on the Atrix, but the difference is very minimal. I'd say the Skinomi may slide slightly better than the Zagg, but you're splitting hairs.
I agree with BeakHill. SGP is great except they scratch easier than Zagg. The Ultra crystal is so clear that they don't even have a cut out for the front camera. The Ultra fine is their matte model and it is good and smooth, the crystal is nicer IMO..
The problem with SGP is they spoil you to the other brands, and they are more expensive.
ive always put a total body skin on my phone in addition to a case
http://www.bestskinsever.com/motorola-atrix-4g-skin
So after a month of having this phone, I have decided that it is an absolute beast and has been made even beastlier with the hardworking developers on this site. However, I have (somehow) obtained a few scratches on my screen and as a result, have decided to invest in a good screen protector. My ideal screen protector is one that takes away minimal feeling of the "glass" on the screen, while simultaneously keeping the phone looking fresh and sharp as if there is nothing on there. In the worst case scenario, I'm looking to be able to cover up my current scratches, and then prevent future ones.
If anyone has any recommendations that would be great - thanks!

To be honest I have no idea. I have not been in a 50 mile radius of any sort of sand since I got the phone, nor have I ever dropped it or anything like that. The only thing I could think of would be that it got scratched while in one of my pockets? Although that is pretty unlikely since I always give my S2 its own pocket..

Look into Realook. It looks and feels like it isn't there. If you look at my phone, you can't even tell it's there, covers the entire screen as well.
Realook is so perfect there is no way of knowing that its there. Only thing is its not as oleophobic or anti fingerprinting as it says. But all premium protectors are like that too - even though they advertise elsewise.

I discovered a tiny pinhead chip in mine yesterday over the menu button, so at least its not visible. I cant feel it when using the phone, but if you rub your fingernail on the screen you feel it.

The Realook protectors definitely seem to b getting some great reviews. I will most likely end up buying one of them, thanks again everyone!

I had bad experiences with realook, with its own squeegee scratched the screen protector. And i didn't add alot of pressure, they sent me another one but i eventually had to get a refund because it was just so easy to get scratched. Remember my personal experience maybe others had it better than me, but the only two companies i would go for screen protectors is SGP(real good quality and great customer service) and Zagg(lifetime support).
I just put a reallook protector on mine and it didnt come with a squeegee. The instructions said to use the cloth to rub out the bubbles. Putting it on took some real effort though. About 30min into the process of application (i just couldnt get it aligned right) i dropped it sticky side down on the floor. I had to spend another 20 min cleaning it off using scotch tape but it ended up going on fine with no dust. It works great. Ive only had it a week though so i cant comment on the scratchproofness.

I discovered this ebay sp supplier when I was a Sensation addict. They were the only ones that I found that would fit the Sensation's curved screen. I have since installed them on every phone in my household. I put that bleeeep on everything! They are a dry install product, superclear and not rubbery. I have paid many times more for equal or less quality product.

It only took me about 5 min to get it straightened up and applied on. Then maybe like a few seconds to get the air bubble out from there. Didn't get any dust/lint on the SP so for me it was perfect on the dot. Even if you look at it under the light, you won't know it's there. There is only one small tell, by the earpiece that you can see it's there
+1 for Ghost Armor. The local mall has a kiosk where they apply it for you...and only $5 to have them replace it. Best screen shield i ever used, great value, highly recommended

Worst advice ever, well perhaps not but definitely not a protector I would recommend. The problem with the Zagg invishield is that its very rubbery and more times the coefficient of friction will be too great to even enjoy doing anything on the phone.
I have the SGP ultra crystal and I'm very happy.
Had a zagg on a previous phone and didn't like it as much as this one.
Here is a GREAT ONE!
This one is very good quality, its also VERY cheap, I ordered 2 of them which is a total of 4 Screen Protectors,
Its Crystal clear, feels great on the fingers and doesn't feel cheap.
Perfect size, no cutting required an theres holes for the FFC and Speaker and stuff
Its absolutely great! and only 2 dollars (free shipping) for two of them!
I seriously can't even tell i have a screen protector on, it came out perfect!
Last but not least, there ya go!

For those asking where i brought this, it was purchased off eBay from a Canadian SGP Authorized reseller "rand-a1thor" for $43.99USD.
***ATTENTION***
After the installation the bubbles seen at the end of the video we're indeed removed and the screen looks beautiful.
I also use the Casemate "Barely There" case with this Spigen GLAS.t and it still fits perfectly like a glove. Surprisingly the package did NOT come with any of the home button "stickers" like the iPhone does but to be quite honest the home button still feels responsive and doesn't have that sunk-in feeling.
I highly recommend this GLAS.t protector as it gives the Galaxy Note that great stock screen feeling.

I have this and I love it. It's so much better than the Note's screen, which I personally think is awful. That thing is a fingerprint magnet and difficult to clean! I haven't had any problems with screen response with it at all...even when charging. It's just like the actual screen except it feels even better. Fingerprints still happen of course but not nearly as bad and they wipe away easily.
My only gripe, and it's a small one, is that the tiny sliver right above the ear piece (about 1mm x 3/4 in) won't adhere. It's not noticeable unless you're looking for it but it still kinda bugs me a little bit. Other than that, this thing is amazing. Can't recommend it highly enough. I also love that unlike screen protectors, this won't have to be replaced...like, ever. This is definitely something I'd buy again when I eventually switch phones.

Did yours look dirty/cloudy and scratched before you took off the protection on both sides during application?
Got mine but it looks like its been through hell.

Yeah, it looked pretty bad before I took off the protection. I somehow even got dust under the top sheet and thought it was under the glass and wanted to scream. But once that top sheet is off it looks pristine and perfect.
Also, be warned that the glass will have a slightly sticky texture from whatever they used to make that top sheet stick. I was disappointed at first because I noticed a slight drag when sliding my finger across the screen. Just be sure to wipe it down really good to get rid of that residue and then it's great.
Thanks for the info. Mine comes in tomorrow. $34.99 from Amazon with free two day shipping.
The Zagg which I have on my phone now sucks. The stylus doesnt work very well. It catches on the rubbery surface.
Mine arrives tomorrow too... anyone doing a video review?
I plan on doing one and posting to YouTube afterwards.

lol I'm so jealous.
One more thing, I can't seem to get rid of all the dirt and lint in the air. How you guys can make it perfect because I hate to see any bubble inside the screen protector when it isn't cheap to replace

Do it in the bathroom. Preferably about 10 minutes after you have taken shower and steam in air has settled down a bit. Usually its the most lint free place in home.

Go search "Ebay" and key in "sgp glas note". There's a seller selling $35.99 with free shipping worldwide.
Go get it while stocks last. Getting 1 soon.

This is the secret. Cannot stress this strategy enough.

How is this compared to Ultra Optics? Any reduced in brightness? Is it anti-glare? How about fingerprints and dusts?
Ultra optics reduces the brightness and have rainbow effects.

- no reduced brightness
- it is NOT anti-glare
- oleophobic coating reduces fingerprints
- no rainbow effect
Hope that helps

I think it is claimed that even knives and keys won't scratch this thing. How about the S-pen? Also did it affect the usage of s-pen negatively? Thanks

I haven't tested it with knives but I did mistakenly put my phone in my pocket with some loose change and it didn't put any mark or scratch on the screen. Seems to be extremely durable. No effect whatsoever on the s-pen. Same as using the stock screen!
Any problems with sensitivity of the screen during charging? Especially the menu and back buttons? I was using the GLAS for my S2 previously and had to remove it because of this.
I'm a new GS3 owner, and I know they have Gorilla Glass 2. Is a screen protector needed? Besides protection, what do they provide? Asking for some advice, any will be appreciated.
You sure do need a screen protector. I thought I was using my GS3 very carefully, yet somehow it got quite a few scratches. So, don't hesitate to spend a few bucks that will keep your expensive device in good shape.. :good:

Yes its needed, unless you want tiny little scratches from quartz in your pocket. Besides protection? If our screens didn't need protection nobody would use a screen "PROTECTOR" hence that big bold word.
Do any screen protectors reduce glare? & Are there any you guys would recommned?
I'm not a fan of screen protectors, but if I have to pick one, I think the Spigen curved one is the best I've seen so far.
I was not interested in wearing one, but recently got an Incipio Silicrylic case that comes with what seems to be a decent screen protector, so I decided to give it a try.
The quality seems good, but I'm afraid it will peel off because of the curvy screen. This might not be the case, as it is hanging well so far, but I notice something that resembles a frame along some corners (only noticeable if you look at it with good light in the right angle).
Let's see if I can stand it in the long run
So yeah, if I have to buy one, I would go for a curved one that covers most of the front glass.
Go for an Bullkin protector(fullscreen) or an glass one.
SGP curved is rubbish, what a waste of money have I done on those SGP ones.
Bullkin one is in the Mercury thread here from kms108

Never had such a phone, where i needed a screen protector. So i decided that i need one to protect from small scratches. I bough SGP curved. Of course it is very think and cover the whole screen, BUT i think it shows so much fingerprints and the quality is poor (leaves many scratches).
So now i am looking for fingerprint resistan protector that covers the whole screen (i thnik protection from small scratches is by default).
No screenprotector is fingerprint resistant. Only the matte versions have it a bit. Clear ones not.

Spg/SPIGEN makes very good screen protectors. I really like the glass like feel and doesn't have that rubber feel like zagg. Right now I have the zagg hd screen protector on my s3. But that's only cause the person who I traded my rezound for this s3 had it on previously. The zagg hd is alright. Not to rubber feel like the regular zagg. There are other companies out there that make great screen protectors just research on what you want and the feel.
Btw I like your avatar. Been a long time Rams fan since they were in LA. I feel bad for Bradford. We need to give him some weapons to throw to. I guess the good thing we'll have another top Draft pick and also since Washington is not doing to well we'll have there first round pick to. Haha. GO RAMS..

I've tried this one, alot better than the spg, full coverage and much stronger that the sgp, with self healing for minor scratches, includes an easy apply patented technology.
skinplayer 3D mask film, a korean brand.
Just a few photo's.
I bought cheap ones $1 each off ebay. Couldnt be happier
