I have a stock verizon samsung galaxy note II and I accepted the recent OTA patch that took the phone to baseband version I605VRALL4. Bottom line question is, can I still root and install custom ROM with this OTA pushed version? I have searched the forum but the threads do not seem to definitely answer this question....some say wait till new exploit windows are found, others say can be done using ODIN. Naturally, I don't want to take unnecessary chances that would brick the phone, but if viable, would go forward. Mike

Guys, I'm freaking out. Hope im opening this thread under the correct node to get quickest help.
I download the suggested app 'Exynos mem bug checked' to check if the bug is present on one's device and on my Verizon Galaxy Note 2 it says the 'device IS affected by exynos-bug'. It's an unrooted 3 day old device. Please help/guide me. What are my options? Is that bug checker app legit?
There is already a patch for it. . Check out this link http://www.engadget.com/2012/12/16/security-exploit-opens-samsung-exynos-devices-to-attack/

So i'm curious, and can't find any information, what is included in this Kies update? I see stuff regarding LJA but have found NOTHING about LJC, the newest update. Can I root this, or should I stay away from it?
Baseband update.
Its been out since the end of January. Basically the update bring security patches and enhanced users experience.
Yes you can root via odin. Also look here http://androidlegend.com/official-a...mware-for-t-mobile-galaxy-s3-t999-jelly-bean/

unless there is an app that needs to be loaded at boot it wont happen.
You need root and a modded framework for that to work.

Also please pay attention to where you are posting and getting files from to avoid bricking your device
Moved to S3 forum
Also no one but the carrier/manufacturer knows when the next update will be...it will be out when it is out.
At best you get a few days notice.
Well, I am unsure what happened to the site. There used to be text on rooting and it was detailed. Now I cant find stickies or anything on rooting my AT&T Note 2.
So there is a forum and a root section. There is a video and it is for Tmobile. He has a link ONLY for TMobile files. The At&t varient forum just circles back here where I get the video again.
I have rooted every single one of my devices and normally find the info no problem. I have rooted my ATT phone before. Its time to do it again because I got a new note 2.
Where are the forums for AT&T? Where are the forums that tell me where to look and find files.
Thank you so much.

You probably have your settings to not show the stickies.
