hi,
on htc desire the multitouch dont work as good as on other devices. zoom etc is perfect, but for some games it is annoying.
my question is wether it is caused by the hardware or wether it can be made better with some software optimizations?

Hardware limitation.
The Desire isn't a multitouch device, it's dual touch. It can only detect two simultaneous touch inputs. So basically, no 3-finger-or-more gestures will ever work on the Desire.
