[Q] Possibly hard bricked T-mobile SGS 2 - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

Hi everyone!
I have a bricked SGS2 from t-mobile. I can't tell exactly what has been flashed to it before, because it wasn't done by me. After flashing a rom it's bricked.
At the moment I can't get it into download mode or turn it on. The screen is black.
Things I've tried and they didn't work:
1. Charge the battery in case it's disscharged. (the phone is charging the battery, but there are no indication lights)
2. Remove battery>press vol up and vol down>insert usb cable.
3. I bought a usb jig and it also doesn't work. ( I followed all instruction how to get it work)
4. When I connect the phone to the PC (with battery or without it) the PC offers me to format the drive I inserted, and every 5 seconds the phone drive gets disconected and connected again after each time windows offers me to format the drive.
5. When I press the power button- nothing happens.
Anyone could help me? Has anyone sorted this kind of problems?

[Q] phone not recognized by computer.

hello, i am looking for help with a problem. i have 2 galaxy s 2 phones. i have a windows 7 machine with drivers installed. the weird part is that my phone is recognized with my computer with no problem. my wife's phone on the other hand does nothing. i mean nothing.. the only thing it will do is charge the phone. i have tried everything but nothing works with this phone. the other problem is that i can't put it in download mode. i hold vol+ and vol- and plug the cable in but it does nothing. i also tried volume down + home button and power at same time with no success. it just boots up like normal or goes into recovery. this is crazy!!! i do know it's not the drivers because the other phone is recognized. any help would be great. i have been at this for 8 hours and counting...

Galaxy Tab 3 NO Power, boot loops when plugged in. Otherwise nothing Video attached.

Hi all, I've been using XDA for years since the original O2 XDA's and I have never had to post anything as I've always found my solution. I'm hoping somebody can assist me with a problem I have on this stock galaxy tab 3.
The device was brought to me after being thrown down the stairs. I replaced the screen and built it back up,
Removed battery connector and reconnected = nothing happens
Press power = nothing happens
press download mode = nothing happens
press recovery mode = nothing happens
Plug USB into PC = nothing happens on PC or tablet
Plug in USB mains charger and it displays battery charging logo but it doesn't fill or animate the fill then it starts the samsung boot screen. It reboots and continues to do this constantly and never ends.
I've tried two batteries and both batteries work in another tab 3 but neither batteries changed how the device works.
Thank you for any advice in advanced!!
I just received a Tab 3 lite (SM-T110) for repair, it's having a similar problem.
It does automatically turn on when plugged into charger or computer.. It is stuck on a bootloop, requiesting a Kies recovery. It does reboot when given the three finger salute (center button, volume down, and power) - it will not enter recovery mode though - same firmware error message). The device is also full off or full on, no indication of it's it's recharging or no - let the battery run out, it's off - else it's on (does not turn on or off with power button). I don't have any info how it got into this state - most likely power loss during a firmware update, but haven't ruled out other possibilities (ie bad rooting job, a custom ROM upgrade went wrong, etc). I'm not 100% concerned about cause, but hopefully I can unbrick the thing.
Anyways, I loaded Kies onto my computer and put it into recovery mode and plugged it in - nothing. Exit the recovery mode of Kies, and all of a sudden the program goes nuts trying to connect and disconnect from the device. Hmm... Okay, disconnect it, uninstall Kies, install Kies3 and try again - same thing except it complains the device is too old when the program leaves recovery mode - but same thing otherwise - does not show up in recovery mode, connects and disconnects at huge rate when not in recovery mode....
Hmmm...
Now looking at the screen, it does indicate (in the upper left hand corner) that it's in ODIN mode... So my next step I figure I'll try ODIN (although I'm researching ODIN at the moment as I haven't used it before (never had to unbrick anything from Samsung prior to now).
Okay, that was painless - downloaded and installed ODIN 3.10.7, and then downloaded the latest firmware from Samsung, extracted the firmware, added it to ODIN's AP line, then hit start to push the latest firmware onto the tablet. Good as new again.

[Q] GALAXY S2 - So weird [NEED HELP]

SHORT INTRO: My GF's phone, I am from PH [not living in Manila] so no reliable technicians, but my Gf brought it to one, the technician flashed it but I think it was fake or something becase it says Android 4.0, but exactly looks like Android 2.3, AND the phone keeps searching for network even if sim card is inserted. so I checked it myself.
I am frustrated and spent hours trying to fix this phone. AND I DONT GET IT!! WHY??
1.) I thought usb port is broken, but it was fine, i left the phone with charger connected for how many minutes, then it went on showing the battery charging animation.
2.) so i tried to boot, I SPENT HOW MANY MINUTES and TIMES PRESSING THE POWER BUTTON and it won't boot, I SMASHED THE POWER BUTTON [not hard tho], DISASSEMBLED AND CHECKED THE BUTTON, THEN TRIED AGAIN, THE SAME THING, but then IT WENT ON AFTER A FEW SECONDS, THEN I TURNED IT OFF[to prepare for installation of stock rom], THEN IT WONT BOOT, SOMETIMES WILL BOOT AFTER HOW MANY SECONDS OR MINUTES BUT WTF IS THIS. <<sorry :crying:
3.) i tried RECOVERY[stock] AND DOWNLOAD, it went into recovery mode ONCE, i tried wiping it all, "reboot system now" AND IT DIDN'T BOOT, IT WENT OFF, SO I AM BACK AGAIN TO NUMBER 2 PROBLEM. THEN IT WENT INTO DOWNLOAD MODE, but ODIN won't detect, I downloaded samsung usb drivers, the cable is from samsung, accessed the device manager[windows 10] and no device.
WHAT I TRIED/SEARCHED[NO LUCK THUGH]:
1.) turning it on without the use of power button [usb cable to computer, pressing volume up & down]
2.) turning it on with charger then removing battery quickly and reinserting it.
3.) i think everything, i've been searching all over the internet and here, no solution.
PLEASE! I need help. We've been planning to buy Galaxy S5 but we don't want this phone go into waste. This phone is over a year old. Is it because of the ROM? I really tried to boot into recovery but I don't understand problem number 2. PLEASE HELP! I'M DESPERATE :crying:

Hi all, i have problem with my P8000. My phone was discharged to 0%, and then i cant turn on phone. When i plug it to charger, blue circle do not light. i try to do:
1. Hold POWER - phone starts but when display elephone logo (1 second) telefon turn off
2. Hold POWER and POWER + - phone gone to bootloader, and them whatever i choose (recovery, normal) phone starts but after shown elephone logo turns down (like 1.)
3. Flashed stock rom via Flash tool (format + download) - like 1.
4. I have unpluged battery
after all, phone cant start... Someone can help me?
I think you have to leave it charging for a while before you are able to turn it on again. Just give it some time

Try another charger/usb cable, just in case the one you're using is defective, or charge the phone connected to a computer

Hi,
I have/had the same problem. The problems started, with the phone powering down, at half the battery level. Then I got a spanish battery overheating message. After the message appears, the problem starts.
I solved the problem like this :
First you have to completely drain your battery. How to do that ?
- Go to the boot-menu (press power on button, and volume up at the same time). Select : Fastboot. The phone will halt. BUT, keep your phone in that state, so it consumes energy. After a while your phone will go out. After that : go again to your boot menu, but DON'T select any options. After a period of ± 5 minutes your phone will go out.
- THEN : remove your SD-Card, and SIM-Card.
- THEN : Connect your phone with the net-usb-charger. DON'T connect it to your PC.
- After 1 to 2 hours of chargeing, your down center button, should start glowing blue again.
I got my phone working again 2 times using this method.
I hope it works for you.
Phone Restored with this method! Thanks pal!
worked for my phone
thank you very much

Water damaged OP3 only shows Tux at boot for 3 seconds (hard brick?)

Hello,
I've got a water damaged OP3 (it was in a pool for about 1min). Now after a few days having it in a pot of rice and cleaning the logic board with 100% isopropanol it finally woke up when pressing power button.
My problem now: It just shows up with a Linux Logo (a small Tux in the middle of the screen) and then turns off after 3 seconds. If I connect it with a charger, the screen persists for the moment.
When pressing + holding volume up button, windows recognizes it as "unknown usb device" and screen stays black.
I only need to access the flash to rescue some of my recent (of course not backed up) data.
What do you suggest? Could I try the unbrick the phone or do these symptons point to a irreversible hardware damage?
Is there a way to read the flash without flashing (or with flashing a minimum set of) stock image?
best regards and thanks in advance!

you better avoid doing experiments on op3. Symptoms you have mentioned in your thread, tells that your has been flashed (don't have usb drivers,no os,no firmware). I have faced same problem with my letv le 1s. It is a software problem. Your phone is totally empty. So do contact with any software technician, he uses sp flash tool to wake up the device. Download sp flash tool and follow procedure. If sp flash tool is detecting your device then it means your device hardware is fine.

Have you installed the necessary drivers in Windows for the phone to show up as Qualcom HS-USB..........Loader9008? Otherwise your phone will not be recognised when you do volume press for 10 seconds and connect. Even if it is recognised in this "service" mode, you may be able to unbrick/restore your phone but in the process, the entire phone would be wiped clean. (I know since I have done it).

I've tried to get the phone into EDL Mode (Qualcomm chip), but had no success, phone vibrates and windows recognizes an "unknown usb device" (pressed Volume Up and connected to USB, phone was definitely turned off). But I am not able to get the device recognized as "QHSUSB_BULK" which - afaik - is the prerequisite to install the Qualcomm USB Driver und go on with the unbrick procedure..
I hope anyone got some idea how to get the phone back to life..

Your understanding of the unbrick steps is not correct. Initially the phone will not show up at all or may show up as unknown or something else. It is only when you install the EDL mode drivers and then hold the power button down for 40 seconds and the hold down the volume up button for 10 seconds and connect to PC, will it show up in the EDL mode. Ofcourse you will have to disable the driver signature verification before installing the drivers.
Read the Unbrick Guide again and install the drivers before trying to connect.

Thanks so far, but being a software developer myself I am not a totally beginner. I followed the guide, also read it twice etc.. Also tried another USB cable including the original Oneplus cable.
When plugging it in while pressing Volume Up my Linux laptop reports this:
Code:
[40474.458362] usb usb3-port2: Cannot enable. Maybe the USB cable is bad?
[40475.426231] usb usb3-port2: Cannot enable. Maybe the USB cable is bad?
[40475.426354] usb usb3-port2: attempt power cycle
[40476.710061] usb usb3-port2: Cannot enable. Maybe the USB cable is bad?
[40477.677934] usb usb3-port2: Cannot enable. Maybe the USB cable is bad?
[40477.678051] usb usb3-port2: unable to enumerate USB device
On my windows machine the device manager reports "Windows has stopped the device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)".
Any suggestions? It seems that the device has lost all firmware etc. and there is no EDL left on the device.
EDIT:
With holding Vol(-) and Power I could get rid of the Tux Penguin and enter fastboot and recovery of the phone.. NAND seems to be okay, can decrypt my internal storage.. The USB port doesn't work in recovery (same error like I had with the EDL mode, unknown device)..
I hope I can now charge the battery a bit and recovery my data...
Thanks so far guys..

Sorry if I had sounded condescending, but I had no way of knowing your level of expertise.
Best of luck for restoring your phone or for saving the data.

No need to worry.. Of course, you couldn't know and there are a lot of people asking dump questions..
My phone is back a life, I guess the data transfer via USB is not working anymore, charging works although I needed to take my Oneplus One's battery (identical connector, just need to take care of the pin layout [+/-]) because my OP3 battery is pretty low and I don't know if I can reactivate it.. It has about 3,4V at the moment and charges very slow..
Finally, if anyone else faces this issue and can't boot his phone:
Try different button combinations and keep holding the buttons several seconds/minutes..
