Cant stream video in google chrome - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

I was wondering if anyone had an issue where they can't stream video in Google Chrome for android.
It works fine on my Nexus 7 or iPhone but on my Samsung G2 X it downloads the videos to my phone before I can view them in MX player.
Anyone know how to fix this and make it stream like my Nexus 7 does?
Thanks

Best Apps & Video Player for galaxy nexus: Supporting MKV or wmv

Hi ,
Yesterday , just got Galaxy Nexus by selling my Iphone 4s and thx for replying my previous question about gpu ,
Now , I wanna look at how galaxy nexus plays videos , I googled hd videos and download Nasa videos from Nasa , its 720p wmv , and my device didnt support this format and I downloaded 3rd party application which is called Mx video player and it opened the video but it didnt play , so I'm kinda disappointed ,
I also tried Vevo and imdb and the quailty of videos werent good , So any suggestions or recommendations for watching video on galaxy nexus ?
what application am i supposed to install ?
The best
Dice player and MX video player. my all time favourite while on AOSP roms.
i usually converted any video first though but it played pretty much everything without converting. i converted just to have a 1280 x 720 resolution.
I use MX Player. Great app. Can't fault it.

Thank you , it played the video
I too use MX Player on my GN and haven't had a problem playing any format of video, wmv included.
I prefer the BS Player with the Codec Pack, seems a little bit smoother than Dice Player for me.
MX probably the best for me now. No problem with it so far.

MX Video Player is definitely my favorite as well. I do find that switching from HW decoding to SW Fast decoding works better a lot of the time for me.
If MX Video Player doesn't play my MKV files, then I try Rock Player. And if that doesn't work, then I just have to convert the file.
Dice Player to play mkv for me (haven't tried wmv), its hardware decoding runs smoothly with not too much heat coming from the phone.
MX Player's hardware decoding seems to be not working properly where it lags more than software decoding. But I have a lot of rmvb's and MX Player runs great with those.

Therollingstone, there are two parts to your question that need attention.
Firstly you say that MX Player didn't play, the reason is that you didn't download the additional files needed to be installed to play the files - You need the ARM v7 Player Codec in addition to MX Video Player app - http://goo.gl/suhcr
Now VEVO and IMDB's disappointing video quality is not the fault of the stock player - It's VEVO and IMDB's fault. They are laying video files at a much smaller resolution (most often to cater to their iPhone customers who have much smaller screens and resolutions 960x640). Galaxy Nexus has a 720P HD Display so it scales up any video you're trying to play at a resolution of 1280x720. This is the reason you might be seeing a slight drop in video quality from these application or any other videos on the web that are streaming videos at a much lower resolution.
Hope this helps.

[Q] Issue with music player

So I use tubeX to download and convert youtube videos to mp3 on my galaxy s 4g for my music needs. However, When I use same app on S2, it won't play those files. Google music player and touchwiz music app plays those files fine in galaxy 4g but not in S2. I don't know why. As a result I am forced to use galaxy 4g when I have a brand new galaxy S2.
Any suggestions how to fix it?
Idk how tp fix this, but wouldnt it be easier if you just downloaded a torrent app from the market, like free mp3 music downloader, instead of making mp3s from YouTube videos?

Well Yes and No. I can speak 4 languages and Its usually easy to find english music online (I have mp3 downloader app for that) But its hard to find music in the other 3 languages. Its easy to just download youtube videos and change the extension to mp3 and in my any other android phone it works fine but not in Galaxy S2. Even though I use same apps and same android version on both phones. Weird!
Try tubemate, i have used that on my S2 and when downloading video select mp3 option.

iPhone like browser for video?

Hey guys,
I'm an iPhone covert but there is one thing that the iPhone does that is vastly superior to the gNex, and that's streaming video.
For example, I watch NHL games on m.hockeystreams.com. With the iPhone, it streams as an MP4 video but with the gNex it is Flash.
I have tried changing the user agent in Dolphin browser to have the site see my gNex as an iPhone but the player still shows it as Flash.
The question is, are you able to change the default video player to make it play as MP4?
I can't imagine it's anything other than the video format as the processor on the gNex is superior to the iPhone.
Thoughts?
uninstall or tell it not to run Flash.
You can also use Chrome Beta, which doesn't have Flash.

[Q] stock video player

I bought my daughters nexus 7's for christmas and took them out to get them set up and get some of their favorite games installed and load some of our videos on that they like to watch on my phone. I noticed that the stock video player on the nexus 7 doesn't play many different video formats, basically only mp4 files. The stock touchwiz video player on my galaxy s3 has played every file I have thrown at it with no stuttering and no problems. I was wondering if there was a way to get the video player from my phone onto the nexus 7, would it be possible to use titanium backup to back the video player up and just install the apk on the nexus 7s, or is it more tied into the touchwiz ui than just the video player apk? I know I can use mx player, or another one from the play store, but honestly, I have never found one that outperforms the stock galaxy s3 video player.
Yes! Thank you!

I agree 1000% percent. I have some free MKV files that came with purchased movies. I was able to copy them to my Galaxy S3, as well as AVI's, and it played them flawlessly, not conversion, just like I would play these on my Windows PC or Playstation. I too dont want to install some app from the market and additional codecs to try and get my MKVs to play. But I did try, and it doesnt work. This tells me there's something in the Samsung S3 VideoPlayer app that can play these videos, and that means it should easily be able to run within Nexus 7. I too am trying to find the valid VideoPlayer.apk to try and install it on my Nexus 7. Have you tried that yet? Let me know if you do get it to work. I really love my Nexus, but a few things irk me. No support for Adobe Flash, the video camera app is set to 480p but found posts where you can turn on the ability for 720p, and this, playing MKV and AVI files.

Set MX Player to play web videos

Hi guys, I'm a new android user and I got a note 2 for a week now. How do I watch a web video on my mxplayer? I'm trying to watch the latest naruto episode from narutoget.com but whenever click PLAY on it, the video plays on the browser and there was no option that usually pops up to make Mx player as a default video player. I cleared defaults of the default internet browser in Note 2 but still doesn't work. Any ideas? I'd greatly appreciate your help guys!
